I used to be so clever when it came to page titles! But I don't know if it's 23 years of scrapbooking or just age taking its toll, but I just can't come up with even simple titles to save my life. I just can't figure out what I'm trying to convey. Maybe it's just the general scrapbooking funk I've been in for the past year or so.
Tonight I was putting some kits together ala Nicolejones911 and could not come up with titles no matter how hard I tried. And I'm not one to just go title less. I even searched pinterest and couldn't find what I wanted. Am I alone in this area??

You're not alone.
But I don't mind going titleless.
You could always ask here. The pea collective is good at that kind of stuff.

I've realized in the past 6 months just how important a title is to me: if I have a title BEFORE I start designing, my whole process goes smoother. I use it as a focal design element 99% of the time. My DH helps me if I'm stuck. I show him the photos, tell him the gist, and he goes from there. The other thing I do is write the journaling because something often triggers from there. The older I get, the more aliteration I use too...so I actually use a thesaurus to come up with words by letter sometimes!

I agree-it is like my brain just cannot get creative. My titles of late are, "Grand Canyon" or "School Play". Is there an element of the photo group you could try focusing on? For example in the "School Play" title, I actually changed the title to the character my son was playing. "The Adventurer!" That did help. Good Luck!

Especially since I've become such a procrastinator when it comes to the journaling lately anyways. Maybe I will give that I try, thanks!

I kind of gave up on page titles. I mostly scrap events. I feel like the photos explain themselves. Most of my pages no longer have them, unlike when I first started scrapping.

The older I get, the more aliteration I use too...so I actually use a thesaurus to come up with words by letter sometimes! Yeah, many a time, a stalled LO is revitalized in my mind and comes together quickly once I have the title. I tend to scrap stories of events or activities I share with my dgk's or about photos their parents send to me. I usually start with the story, then select the photos, or start with the pic's and then tell the story, but the title is key for me. And because I scrap mostly two page spreads, I don't need a title for every page. I will sometimes put the title, journaling and one key photo, plus maybe some scrapbooking design effort into one of the pages, then load up the second page with lots of photos, and just give matching or coordinating colours a go. I don't try to be over creative, though, as long as it captures the mood. I sometimes go to a song title or lyrics, a common saying, maybe something someone said during the event I am scrapping. Sometimes, "School Play" would be enough, or I might have gone with "The Play's the Thing" (from Hamlet), but I like that you went with The Adventurer, @kendramage.

I was the end of 5 kids, her 3rd girl and born in the late 70's, so I totally understand the horrible colors and outfit. But I like to tell her " Really Mom, you couldn't put me in something cute and pink?" ๐

When I first started scrapping almost 20 years ago I tried using clever titles but I wasnโt very good at that. To me itโs like those contests where you caption a picture. I suck at that too. Back then page toppers were popular so sometimes Iโd use one of those. Now I just use the name of the person, place, or event. I do the descriptions in my journaling.

I search 'scrapbook page titles' on Pinterest and save ones I like. I also save a page in my title board for inspiration ๐

You're not alone. But I don't mind going titleless.^^^ that. my titles aren't clever, funny, or anything like that. They're much more 'matter of fact' and personally if I'm going to use a title, it ends up being a longer title with smaller letter stickers. I don't use thickers very often at all-- I think they take up too much real estate on my page. I do remember, back in the day, that we (meaning everyone, in general) used to always come up with clever or catchy page titles. It just seems like nowadays people don't really do titles like that, any more... ?? Either that, or I just don't pay attention to titles any more. I have quite a collection of 3x4 and 4x6 cards- I need to start using THOSE for my page titles!!

I think you should ask here.
You don't have to ask each time, you could ask about several topics at a time. Just look ahead to what photos you plan to use (or photo opps you might have) in the upcoming months, and post a list "book club, soccer game, yard work, trip to wherever, hanging out on front porch with neighbors, attended a wedding, etc...) and the peas can reply with title ideas.
It may give some other peas title inspiration as well.
