I just added Lukas Graham's song Here which reminds me of my friend's son. Warning, the video will make you cry.
What songs have you added to your holiday playlist?

I think I’m going to add Taylor Swift’s Silent Night to mine. I’ve heard it a couple of times on Holly and I think I like it.

In the fall he released a 6 song album called Postcards which are Chicago themed covers. I saw him in concert in October and I think he played only 1 song from this album so I don’t think he’s really promoting it. And the two Christmas songs are just that-just 2 songs 😟

I really really dislike the sad, mushy holiday songs. Holidays can be very hard and depressive for some and these trigger those feelings.
I love the swing band, upbeat holiday music. When I’m working here, I have big band swing music playing or artists like from Dean Martin era (even though they were at least 30 years before me!) my granny used to play them so I got used to hearing them.

Not new, but our favorite is the Christmas Can Can by Straight No Chaser. 12yo DD emailed me yesterday from school to ask the name so she could play it for one of her teachers (who she said thought it was hilarious)! ETA: It is definitely one to stick in your head, so if you go listen now, you've been warned.

Christmas music is the one category of music where I am not at all interested in new renditions of classics or new songs by pop singers; for regular music, I am all about discovering new artists and music I might like.
Give me the classic Christmas songs, which evoke warm feelings of nostalgia, or instrumental jazz/classical renditions of the classics. I'm usually in a contemplative mood this time of year, and I do not want to hear a bunch of robot-voiced caterwauling. Oh Lord, what I'm trying to say is I guess I detest pop music.

Mine are all old songs but new to my Christmas playlist (DH says I am a weirdo. I don't disagree):
The Waitresses-Christmas Wrapping Yellowman-We Wish You a Reggae Christmas The Enchanters-Mambo Santa Mambo John Holt-Blue Christmas
I added Gwen Stefani's You Make It Feel Like Christmas last year and I love that one.

Robbie Williams Christmas album
I already have his Let's Not Go Shopping on my playlist. If you like that one, give Seth MacFarlane's Little Jack Frost Get Lost (feat Norah Jones) a try.

I am not a fan of Christmas music. I worked in a mall during high school and college and Christmas music makes me cringe. My kids wake me November 1st with Mariah Carey's Christmas music every year. I do like TSO and Mannheim Steamroller. I like the instrumental pieces without the screeching.

950nancy you may want to look up The Piano Guys Christmas album. It’s all instrumental-really lovely.
