Toner ink with the Minc demo by Heidi:
I don't have a Minc so I'm going to stick to the good ol' embossing technique for my stamps. It's a fun product for sure but it's going to get expensive if it dries out so quickly. You almost need to use this for a big batch of things to stamp + foil at once to make it worth the price tag.

I actually have a laser printer but the minx seems like too much hassle.

HS made a toner pad for using our stamps to minc. Game changer and you can layer colors with the stamping. It's what I've been waiting for! I just watched the video. I definitely love the idea and will buy the pad and ink to try. My thoughts: I hate being a Negative Nancy because I love this idea and have wanted to buy a Minc for the last 2 years but I just can't break down and buy another printer. 1. I have to wonder how messy it's going to be and how often I'd really use it before the ink drys out (as she said it will over time)? 2. I'm kind of bummed that it's limited to what stamps you have. I have a stupid amount of stamps but not a lot of script or delicate images that I can imagine I'd want to foil. 3. This is also something you wouldn't want to take on if you were wanting to foil all your homemade Christmas cards etc. Having said all that though I still think it's exciting and appreciate the option for those who want a Minc but don't have one yet. I will try it! Totally agree with all the above! I caught my 6" minc on sale during Black Friday for $32, so having the ability to use products that I already have to play is worth it as you stated. 3 hours until the toner pad has to be re-filled for activation does really suck, but I think I will just sit down with a plan of all the things I want to minc and bulk mink over the 3 hour time-frame each time that I use the system. It saves money on buying more and more pads and ink refills. However, I do think I will get the laser printer since I also need it for my printmaking. I was holding off because space is definitely becoming an issue being a memorykeeper, artist and educator--supplies and books all take up space.

I have a Minc and will probably try out the ink pad although it doesn’t sound like the most practical thing. I think Heidi was talking about maybe introducing a smaller pad and saying that would’ve Been better in terms of less ink etc.

Just watched the Stamperia New products 2020. Some really pretty collections. I have just one of their paper pads, but the artwork is beautiful, and the paper has a heavier weight to it. Images are monochronistic, overlayed, much like art journal pages, but the images are soft and muted so they will go into the background for layering nicely--if you can let yourself cover up the pretty images! Stamperia 2020My favourites are the FOREST and IMAGINE collections. I also like the whimsical artwork on the little boy and little girl album collections.

Not sure how to link but SCT magazine shows three new collections on Instagram (in their stories). 2 are from MME called One of a Kind (yellow, orange, pink-- all very Seventies to me down to the font used for the title) and Gingham Gardens (blues, yellows, Greys, gingham and florals). The other is a birthday collection by Pink Paislee called And Many More (not sure what to think about it, it looks like the color palette is different if you look at the paper pad and the stickers.)

If you read about all the storyline products, it appears like it might be a new planner system. It says it holds 9 inserts, which is the notebooks that go with it. The notebooks are planner inserts. So I don’t think it’s an album for our completed pages. I think it’s a planner, which is a big boo from me. Like we need another planner system. Storyline is Heidi's documenting + journaling line which she has had with AC for 3 years now. These new rod system albums in the line are geared toward these projects as shown in the video posted above. She designed project pads and insert sets for the different types of projects (' The Scrapbooker', ' The Journaler', ' The Planner'). They are larger TNs, in line with the cheap large TN-style Heidi sold with her 2019 Winter Wonderland Christmas collection. But it's 8x10 now. She's still offering regular memory planners (they are shown at the end of the video). Her Storyline collection did start as any other scrap collection though, if I remember correctly. There were three rings albums in 8.5x11 and 12x12 albums and matching page protectors in her collection. Her system has evolved, hasn't it? Apart from last December "album", I don't remember HS selling TNs.

Apart from last December "album", I don't remember HS selling TNs. It was immediately a special "tell your story" line with a different, practical approach: no papers or regular scrappy stuff but Deck of Days sets, journaling stickers as well as the 12x12 postbound + regular ring albums in 8.5x11 you mentioned. There were several vibes/aesthetics straight out of the starting blocks: tropical, nautical/modern preppy, classic black & white (based on the different Deck of Days sets). The next Storyline releases were album-centric without new Deck of Days sets (Heidi, in the meantime, talked on podcasts about wanting to get really scrappy again, working with paper and embellishments again, as she was coming to terms with the loss of her son and the new dynamics in her family). She has offered TN inserts before. There was the 2017 TN-style memory planner as well as her brand's Journal Studio. I remember seeing inserts matching some of her recent-ish collections as well like Magnolia Jane. Heidi is not consistent with her memory-keeping approach. She tends to switch things up and offer new products. I'm not sure how successful they are as they just disappear after a few years, however. I fully expect Storyline to offer another format in a couple of years.

One of a Kind is very different and also diversity-inclusive. It's already showing online for anyone interested.

I have never understood the difference in aesthetic between Maggie's lines and Lizzy's lines. To me they're both ott girly, floral-y, juvenile-y images. Not sure why AC has two different designers w/such a similar aesthetic. Does anyone get the difference between them? Attachments:

Not sure why AC has two different designers w/such a similar aesthetic. Does anyone get the difference between them? I see them differently. I find that Lizzy is right in between Maggie and Amy T. Lizzy's more fun, less floral (but still quite a bit), also very pink and girly but more modern/pop/teenager-ish. Maggie is definitely known for her major florals and has gone more mature with colour schemes, especially in the past 18-ish months. Maggie is also very big on vintage elements, contrary to Lizzy. Classic Maggie Holmes for Crate Paper: Typical Dear Lizzy:

@zingermack To me, the main difference is that Maggie Holmes' collections are retro-looking whereas Lizzie's are more modern (in terms of colors, imagery and designs). I noticed this year that a few patterned papers from Shimelle's collections can be found (in different color, shades or hues) in other collections under the AC umbrella. So, the difference will probably be less and less noticeable as times goes by. Edited: Of course now that I'm looking for an example, I can't find any!

Between Maggie, Lizzy, Amy & Page - ugh, pink, flower, girly overload. Wish they had more Vicki's and even more graphic designers. This could just as easily be Dear Lizzy's to me....

@zingermack That's because Jasmine Jones is designing for AC's in-house team. It has definitely given Crate Paper a much more trendy vibe. Go back two and half-ish years' in time and CP was definitely far more vintage. Maggie, Lizzy and Amy don't actually design the collections. ETA: All of Crate Paper's collections share that LLP-ish vibe nowadays, not just Maggie's. Take a look at last year's Valentine's Day collection: Or last year's winter/Christmas line: Now look at autumn 2019 Maggie Holmes Heritage collection: It's the JJ aesthetic all over the Crate Paper brand, including the MH lines...

Just to correct a little misunderstanding: Actually most of that artwork is Lauren Waltman’s work. Jasmine just started on the team so most of those collections were done by Lauren Waltman and a few other designers at Crate Paper. She worked on Dear Lizzy before joining the Crate team so that may be why you see similar styles.

I'm surprised to learn Jasmine only just started on the team. Any other info about this? Jasmine announced she was leaving Inked for her dream job at AC in 2017, packed up her home, broke off her relationship and moved to Provo, Utah straight away. I noticed the major shift in Crate Paper aesthetic in 2018 and had (wrongly, obviously) assumed it was JJ's influence. But what has Jasmine been doing in Provo for three years? Paired with her vague-gramming about receiving upsetting professional news in early December 2019, I'm really surprised to learn she's now (only) starting at AC. I speculated (possibly wrongly, again 😂) that her gig at AC might already be up when she posted on IG about some major professional upset. ETA: just checked and I was remembering wrong all along. JJ left Inked for AC/Provo, UT in 2018. It felt like longer ago to me. Totally my fault! The mystery is real. Could it be that two major designers from Inked will be out of the scrapbooking world soon what with Tina from LLP being out of her KP job and Jasmine being... erm... I don't know now what's happened/is happening to JJ. 🤪

does 'Dear Lizzy' even scrapbook anymore?!?!? I don't think I've seen anything scrappy from her or Amy Tangerine in a long while. Maggie H. still has the occasional memory-keeping mini project or decorations/tags made with her products. Paige Evans still does a lot of memory-keeping, mostly mini albums. Shimelle is the AC stand-out in terms of actual scrapbooking, layouts and yearly projects. She rocks! Did 1canoe2 ever make anything related to memory-keeping? I can't remember. Only art journals without scrappy supplies and planner stuff. And it looks like the brand might be a goner from AC's umbrella as there was nothing at Creativation and no new collection I can find.

I might be wrong again 😁 but 1canoe2 had at least 3 scrapbooking collections with embellies under AC name--Twilight, Goldenrod and Willow (probably not in that order, though). Edited: 4 with Hazelwood. Make that 5 with Creekside.
