Be prepared, it hurts! My arm was sore for a good week afterward. Shots normally don't have a linger sore impact on me but that one did! I go next month to get round two. eta: I had the shingles as a teenager. That was way worse than the shot even with the decades I've had to forget how bad they were. Get the shot. Don't wait to get the shingles. Thanks, I know. I have had shingles ... way back in 1993. Need an Rx and I have to pay for it! Need to talk to my doctor, had a major arm issue for the very first time with the flu shot this year!

Well done!! Someday I'll get the Shingrix shots! I had shingles as a teenager on my side and then again 5 years ago - on my face! It was so painful. I had strong reactions to the adjuvant they put in the Shingrix vaccine and ran a 101-102 degree fever for two days after each shot. The second one was just 2 weeks ago. The 4 days I was sick due to the vaccine was NOTHING compared to shingles. They add an adjuvant that makes your body react to the vaccine, which is why it is over 95% effective. I agree - get the shots. Shingrix and the Flu vaccine!

Have them do it in your non dominate arm. I am on my own too but it didn't keep me from doing things I needed to do. Just hurt like a bad bruise. I'm left handed, when the nurse told me it would leave my arm sore for awhile I had her do it in my right arm. It did slow me down some and I couldn't sleep on that side but I was able to do the things I needed to do.
