A friend wants me to help her make some valentines. She wants a bible verse on them. Show me what you are doing or some ideas you like.

justjac has made several valentines cards, and you can find them in our Gallery. Some more formal, but I really like this fun design: Jar by Jacqueline Bruce, on Flickr And gramma shared some striking red/white/black cards in the Gallery as well: IMG_4422 by CLAUDIA LOVELESS, on Flickr joblackford has been showing us several designs, too. Some cute and punny. But if you want one to use with a Bible verse, maybe try something like her paint chip hearts seen here on Instagram

Very fun! Love the conversation hearts falling out of the jar. ♥
I don't do a lot for Valentine's Day other than maybe make treat bag toppers with my Cameo for my little boys sitter and the other kids.

ditzydoodle , those Valentines are wonderful. I love the tags and the stitched frames. Cute use of shakers and doilies too. Beautiful work. Thank you so much! I discovered I could make any size tag I want by using the WRMK corner rounder on the bottom and scallop/stub corner chomper on the top. Much faster than digging for all of my tag dies :-)

Your woven hearts are really cute, don , and I love the improv of using markers when you don't have just the stamp or die you want. ditzydoodle, those cards are really pretty! Love all the shaker elements and the pretty colours.

Hopefully this post kind of fits under this thread. Newton's Nook Designs just released some new Valentine stamps. They have a set called "Love Quarry" that has a bulldozer, cement mixer, a dump truck, and a couple of other trucks that is super cute. Here is an example of Valentines made with the "Love Quarry" stamp. They also released "Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set." Glance through their blog and this stencil makes beautiful backgrounds. Scroll down to Card 1 and here is an example of the Bokeh Hearts Stencil. They also have a new stamp set called "Newton's Crafty Cardio" that I don't see how anyone can resist that one. Anyway, I am not in any way affiliated with this company, but I thought this was a super cute Valentine release. I just made an order before I posted this.

Finished making these for friend. I'm not at all happy with them. I should have not "volunteered". I am not a good card maker and I knew that. I mostly make cards for close friends and family and I'm more focused on the message and personalizing them and don't care that much about how professional looking they are. I sent her pic and told her she might want to consider buying some that will look nicer.
I didn't spend much money on them....got the stationary at Goodwill and used scraps for the hearts. There are 32 of these guys. I spent way too much time on them. I wanted to use the stationary because the envelopes are nice and they match. Well, green is not a valentine color. There is nothing on the inside, she is going to write that herself.

I’ve been saving the plastic “window” part of envelopes we’ve received in the mail, then sewing them into little shaker pockets after adding sequins and getting my preschool toddler to watercolor pinks, reds, and purples on them. The valentines will be given out to her daycare friends and as a bonus it’s upcycling using supplies I already had on hand. I will probably also punch a hole and put ribbon through it so they can be used as bookmarks too.

I've been thinking about making some. I have a tiny envelope die, so I was thinking I could make a garland or maybe use them on a scrapbook page.

That accordian card looks really cool, LisaDV . Love all the tags and diecuts. And I love the window pane look of the other two. Cute little diecuts or cutaparts. @elaynef , I think your friend will love these. The distinctive colouring makes a simple design really interesting. And the doodled border with the sentiment as part of it makes them look professional. You are a better card maker than you think! I think I may be making valentines with my dgs next weekend while his mom is busy doing school. Wondering what we can figure out that will not stretch his attention span too far. Maybe I should ask joblackford for some ideas for punny sentiments for grade one classmates...

@elaynef I’m sure your friend will be thrilled with what you’ve given her. We’re our own worst critics and it sounds like you were working well outside your comfort zone. It was very generous of you to make so many cards for her - that’s a BIG favor! It doesn’t sound like she was going for traditional Valentines anyway, so no worries that green isn’t a Valentine color. I hope she appreciates the work you put into the, and loves them. They look great to me. grammadee here are some puns to get you started. I’m making these into tiny Valentines for other people to give away at work. They’re a 6x6 cut apart so they’re really small. Some of the sentiments are flexible. The “you’re stuck with me” or “friends stick together” sentiments are good for glue/tape, or for cacti, or for bandaids. I’m working on a bandaid one right now. I have two bandaids slightly overlapping with the “you’re stuck with me” sentiment. You could use real bandaids!! And maybe your dogs could draw a cute face on them. If that’s not too wasteful. I’m guessing real bandaids are cheaper than bandaid die cuts! I also have a plan to make some “wild about you” cards with jungle foliage and animals. Any animal you can think of, there are puns. I even found some giraffe puns, and that’s a real stretch. (haha!) I am building a catalog of terrible puns... Punny sentiments by jo.blackford, on Flickr

LOVE your punny valentine fronts, joblackford. I am going to save this pic for inspiration. I like the "I'm stuck on you", or better, "You're stuck with me!" I actually think that he would be pretty pumped to stick a couple of real bandaides on each card! I could print the sentiments--easier and less stressful than using letter stickers or having him print them all out. Then we can punch out some hearts and start gluing. I could have him draw a couple of stick "friends", I could print them and add to each card too. Lots of ideas popping right now. THANK YOU!

You could use real bandaids!! I love this idea! Kids would think that was great, even better if they get to pick out the bandaids to use.

Thanks. Most of my cards will be going in the mail, so they need to be flat. I'm using Crate Paper Hello Love collection. I have the 12x12 & 6x6 pad plus a couple of embellishments. The rest is just stash I pulled, including some colored cardstock, stamps, embossing folders, etc. I used the cut-apart sheets from both the 6x6 & 12x12. I've made 2 more cards since these as I'm just working on them as I get a chance.

I spoke too soon. Turns out there's going to be a Valentine factory in my kitchen on Saturday. The kids are going to be trying to sell them to parents during conference night next week as a fundraiser for their club. Then they'll be delivered to classrooms on Valentine's Day. Who wouldn't want to embarrass their kids with a Valentine from mom?

I'm going to make some prototypes and then they can decide what they want to do. I bought some cute Valentine stickers today with googly eyed monsters to use on them.
