My LSS separates supplies by theme. Wedding, summer, travel, etc., but keeps all supplies in a collection together. I went to a LSS recently while traveling and they separated by theme but had paper on one side of the store and embellishments on the other side. I didn't appeal to me that way and I didn't buy much. After going back and forth from paper to embellishments twice it got annoying. Back in the LSS heyday I remember a couple of stores separating supplies by manufacturer. I think I prefer that. What do you prefer?

I prefer collections together but I don't care if they are arranged by theme or manufacturer.

I'm not a scrap-by-theme scrapbooker so I much prefer by manufacturer. Typically I know what I want and what manufacturer makes it so I go looking by that.
Having said that I can't remember that last time I was in a LSS as all of our went away years ago. Sad.
My shopping is 99% online now and I still go directly to each manufacturer link on any site.

I want collections kept together for as long as possible. After that put it in themes, but still keep remaining collection items together and near paper.
The only scrap store I have available to me keeps collections together until newer releases come out. The papers go to the paper section, chipboard to the chipboard aisle, die cuts to die cuts. It makes me insane. I think and work in collections. I will rarely buy paper without coordinating embellishments to go with. So hunting through aisles of product is tiresome.

I prefer keeping collections together for sure since I want to easily find everything that matches together. And when thinking of it same for company since their items seem to have a similar style and often color palate. It makes coordinating easy for me.

Mine keeps collections together, but separates by theme. There's a section of the store for winter and Christmas, one for weddings, one for pets, etc. Her Tim Holtz is all in one place, more colorful mixed media products close by but in a separate area. New collections are featured more prominently.

Back in the day, my favorite LSS had everything sorted by manufacturer - it was laid out in large cubicles, so that each manufacturer had its own "room". The collections were kept together I can't figure out why you'd separate them, since I used to make MANY impulse purchases of coordinating items when I saw the whole collection together.
Boy, do I miss those days. That store is long gone, and I can't even remember its name, which was pretty generic.

I am a theme scrapper. I like things organized by theme.
I worked in an LSS. They had most things organized by theme but things that did not fit a theme had the collection together like Chatterbox.
Stickers were all on one wall.
I'd be so happy to have an LSS to shop in I wouldn't care anymore. But I do like to find like things together when possible.

I prefer new collections stored together. That way I can see everything available to me that matches. Once it’s been picked over I don’t mind if it’s stored by theme or product (alphas, enamel dots, washi, etc), but prefer by theme.

If I could choose: I prefer to shop by theme. All the >> birthday, girls night out, outdoors, whatever category, etc... together. My second preference is by product categories >> stickers together, cardstock together, patterned paper together, tools and adhesive together (like Hobby Lobby or Michaels is set up). My least favorite way to shop is by company (all the Bo Bunny together, all the My Minds Eye together, etc...).
In general, if I am in a scrapbook store or scrapbook area of a craft store, I'm going down every aisle, area, section, etc..., and looking at every single thing, anyways....so arrangement doesn't matter.
All the scrapbook stores I've been in over the last 20+ years(in whatever city and state), the square footage has never been grandiose in size, so having to go all over the store to find what I wanted, was never an issue for me.
I regularly shop in stores (Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Michaels, HomeGoods, Sprouts, etc...) that have large square footage, and I often walk the whole store as a means to get in some extra walking. Having to go across the store in a small square footage scrapbook store is not an issue for me.

I haven't been in a real lss in a decade+, but when I lived near them (there were 3 close), i much preferred collections & manufacturers together.
One lss would separate each sheet of paper from a collection by color. So if a collection had a blue based paper, a red based paper, and a white based paper, you would never see them close to one another! That truly drove me nuts.

One LSS Puts out the new items by collection in front. Then they separate by theme with the older supplies. This works well for me

I prefer collections together. I dont scrapbook by theme. I match my photos to what paper they look good on and what they pop on. I like to get things that go together not mix matchy.

My LSS goes mostly by themes, but does keep collections together as long as possible. They also highlight the newest lines by keeping those on an endcap or in the front of the store if it's a big selection/holiday. They keep obvious themed paper in the theme section, but after awhile they will put any patterned paper that doesn't scream theme in with the rest of the non-themed pattern paper (arranged by color).
It works for because I'm usually looking by theme more than designer.

We have an awesome LSS in town. She keeps everything that is new for the current season at the front of the store. With the paper are all of the embellishments. I scrap using paper and embellishments from the same line if possible, so that makes sense to me.
