An update on my sister and her cancer

It's not good. 

She has been getting weaker every day. She was supposed to start chemo last Wednesday but her wife called us at 6 AM to tell us that she had fallen on the floor and she couldn't get her up to take her to the appointment. We live around the corner so we went over and the three of us couldn't get her up. I called an ambulance and they took her to the ER. Chemo was cancelled. She is still in the hospital and still getting weaker. She was very dehydrated so they have been giving her IV fluids. They drained 4 liters of fluid from her abdomen. She is eating very little. Yesterday they did a CT scan and she has a large blood clot in her leg and an even larger one in her lungs. They started IV heparin. There was a possibility that they would move her to ICU last night. I don't know if they did. I haven't slept much and was just exhausted after another full day there yesterday so I came home last night. Her wife isn't good about texting us and telling us what is going on but she has been just awesome with my sister. She's older and doesn't do much technology. 

The reality is that she is not going to survive this cancer. If we can get her strong enough to do chemo, which is looking highly unlikely at this point, it's only buying her time. My family is devastated. She was fine at Christmas. It is unreal how fast this has progressed.
