Went this morning. There were a few new stamps, dies, and 3D Mambi embellishments, but overall nothing good (or should I say new) at all.

When I went to TM last week, they had a bunch of Crafter's Companion dies that cut intricate designs for card fronts. They were only $4.99, which is a steal, so I picked up two. I opened the first one and tested it out and I cannot get it to cut! For the record, I've been die cutting for years, so it's definitely not a newbie mistake. (Details: I have the WRMK Evolution Advanced die cutting machine, which I use with the Sizzix magnetic platform, a metal shim and Sizzix cutting plates.) I tried all sorts of different things: using paper shims, using new cutting pads, cutting thinner paper (was originally using Neenah 80 lb, tried it with lighter weight solid printed scrapbook paper), running the die through up to six times and it still won't cut, only leaves an impression on the paper (except around the outer edges on the thinner paper, with max shims and 6 passes through the machine). Just to make sure I wasn't making a stupid mistake (like forgetting a plate), I tried using other dies with the same configuration and they cut just fine. If I try to add any more shims, the sandwich is too thick and won't go through the machine, so the problem isn't a lack of pressure. I'm thinking the die is defective, but just wanted to check if anyone else has had this issue! Here's some pictures.

pas2, sorry you've had this experience but I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one experiencing problems! gmcwife1, if you try out the same die, please update and let me know how it works for you!

I will. Though now I’m trying to decide if I want to open it or just return it since it was an impulse purchase and I don’t need it.

I was going to go to our north store after work today, but 8 inches of snow has deterred that idea. We are on storm #9 and I am done with the cold stuff. I just want balmy.

Today it was chest high and most of our walk consisted of jumping through the snow instead of walking on the shoveled sidewalks.

The Crafter’s Companion dies do cut on my Gemini, although I may have had to put the detailed ones through more than once. Here is a birthday card I made for a granddaughter with the Crafters Companion dies: And another one for a different granddaughter:

Today I found a couple of Disney paper packs, and a tin of sequins in clear/white, with black and red Mickey heads. I got a few other things, but those were the items I was most pleased about, since I have more Disney photos to scrapbook.

Those Mickey sequins are something I’ll watch for, scrapnnana! I saw lots more Echo Park and Bo Bunny items today, but walked out empty handed.

I should clarify that the Mickey heads are sparse and not super obvious unless you look closely.

GAHHHHH!!! My mom just sent me this pic from the Vista, CA Tuesday Morning. I don't think I could shop here, that is so much digging. Is anyone else's TM set up like that? Mine is on hangers, and it looks like the planner books are in the top shelf? You can't even see what they are!

I have been to a lot of different TM stores (between Virginia, where I used to live, and Texas where I now live). I have not seen any that look like that. Some are disorganized, and if I have time to dig, I will, but the store in that photo would take a lot of effort to go through. It would discourage a lot of people. However, the determined ones might find some treasures in that chaos if they were willing to go through it all.

When I go through them I tend to straighten them out I do not like the digging and I usually don’t, unless I have time (Saturday) and I’m looking for something specific.

All three of mine have large bins where the pads sit upright and you can flip through them. Like an old music store would store albums.

I went to one just outside Philly and it looked like that or worse. Things were thrown everywhere. It made me anxious. Everything was mixed up. It was bad.
But the one I went to just outside Albany NY was Pristine. Items were sorted by both category AND brand. So it wasn’t a peg of dies but a peg of one brand of dies. Etc. And the shoppers seemed to respect that.
The one closest to me is somewhat in the middle, stuff is on pegs with hopefully similar items or at least similar sized items.

May I ask which store you went to outside of Philly? I live west of the city. I go to the Drexel Hill store and the Exton store. The Exton store always has more.

I usually would hit the Southampton one north of Philly on my way to visit my DD when she lived in Philly. That one is average in the scale of clean vs messy. However, when she was home in Jan she stayed with friends and was more west of Philly, I think it was The Drexel Hill one. It’s on a long 1/2 circle drive? I hope it’s not normal that messy.
