Good morning peas! Today's recipe challenge, courtesy of the monthly challenge list... 1. Use your STASH - an item over 1 year old. I'm going to ask that you stretch yourself on this, and MAINLY use older product, try not to use much that you've purchased in the past year. But nobody's judging. 2. WRITER'S UNGUILT - since this awards points based on # of words of journaling, I'm going to ask for at least 50 words of journaling on this layout 3. Colour your world - use bright cheerful colours on your layout 4. Donna's challenge - use brads or eyelets, and for bonus points scrapbook a picture you've been meaning to get scrapped! 5. Dot dot Goose? - use dots of some sort - enamel, puffy, nuvos... see the challenge board for the points systems. So, if you complete those 5 challenges, there will be a lot of points in there from the monthly system, plus you get the bonus point of this challenge. And my "by hand" twist today: HANDCUT something on your layout. Can be a simple circle or some fancy fussy cutting. Here is my example. All the product on this layout is at least 5 years old. Except for the multitude of nuvo drops! I exacto-cut out the quilted stars from a piece of pp, wanting to remove the creamy-yellow colour from the pp because it didn't go well with my white clouds. I love how that turned out! layout will work for candy by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Great page!
I'm not one for a lot of journaling, but I can definitely work with the challenge to use old product. I have lots of it!

This is not a particularly well designed page, but I wanted the program and the music to show as well as the photo. 1.Very old cardstock scraps, 2. The hidden journaling about Kylie is 75 words, 3. Bright colors, 4. Brads, 5. Enamel dots, Twist: I hand cut the seaweed. (that's about the extent of my hand cutting abilities) LOL Kiss The Girl

kitbop I am cracking up at the thought of your poor kids having to pose with a random stranger in order to get their Easter treats! We still do an Easter egg hunt at my dad's house, mainly for the younger kids (aged 6-9), although the older ones still get into it. I *really* love the idea of a scavenger hunt for the older kids (aged 13-23). Can you please give me some ideas of the things you put on your kids' list?

nylene - love the way you incorporated the music, the program, the character and the picture! And I love the first line of your journaling..."every family needs a Kylie..." that will just give her wonderful warm feelings when she reads it! AussieMeg - yes, for kids who are 14/15/16 we needed to make them work for candy! We sent them to a park about 1 km from home and texted "jacob piggy-backs soren; finn piggy-backs katie; have a race down the sidewalk and matt takes a photo" (it's a busy street). After they texted us that photo, we texted the next location etc. etc. We made them cover at least 5 km that morning. Other tasks they had to do was: take a picture with everyone upside down at the playground. take a picture of 5 different types of birds. take a selfie of all 5 of you outside the drugstore. take a picture of a wild bunny (that was hard. even tho we have lots of bunnies, it's early in the season!) and the absolutely LOATHED "take a picture with a stranger". We didnt' expect it to give them so much grief! There were other challenges too, but I can't remember them It was a wonderful way to give them a hunt without the adults having to set anything up or be out there with them. And it gave me some photos to scrap

kitbop, I LOVE it!!! Thanks for the ideas, I would love to do something similar this year. My kids are 15 & 22, and my nieces and nephew are 13 and 16, so I think it could work really well and be a lot of fun.

Here is my layout. I managed to get all of the recipe ingredients in. I used the 'Aloha Santa' kit by A-Manda Creation.

Okay, here we go. Will be sharing this one all over the place, as it satisfies (I hope) a few 29-4-29 challenges... bonding over hair by Gramma Dee, on Flickr For this one, I used OLD product (from the 2018 Pinkfresh back to the at-least-ten-year-old HOTP purple flock); over 50 words of journaling; hoping the purples are bright enough to overcome the grey background; snuck in a brad with the camera charm + finished a page that did not get into my FALL album; channeled kiwigirl with my Nuvo dots border; and for the TWIST, I hand cut the leaves to lift them over the other elements. Whew!

I'm not loving this layout but it's done and going in the book and I'm moving on... I'm not sure if the paper is old enough - I can't remember what paper it is and google wasn't helping but there's plenty of journalling, star brads, nuvo dots, and that pink is certainly bright

Linda, your roast duck looks great. Your photos are wonderful. I love your big long table! My dad was a hunter and we had duck for dinner often. Mom would grind the leftovers, add mayo and some seasoning and we took duck sandwiches to school for lunch. Dad also smoked a lot of them, but I didn't like that as much. Ducks were very plentiful where we lived near the Snake River. Thanks for posting this and bringing back memories.

Thank you nylene - no hunters in my family which is a shame because I liked the duck and I like vension as well. I love having the big table - DH keeps talking about taking the leaf out with just the three of us most of the time now but...I'm resisting. It seats 6 spaciously and 8 easily - I have a second smaller table I've used to extend it in order to seat 12 on occasion
