I found some leftover sloppy joe meat in the freezer, so I’ll have that for dinner with leftover bakery buns, also from the freezer. And more of the never-ending, never-dying veggies. They’re like robot veggies. As fresh and green as the day I bought them, like, three weeks ago. Love the memes, leannec and cadoodlebug!

We just got back from walking. It’s in the mid-60’s and the arrows flew alongside of us. DH had no idea that there were so many of them. What in the Sam Hill did he think was making all the racket in the shed? For cryin’ out loud! He just asked them to fix the lawnmower and the chainsaw. This visual made me laugh out loud!

We’re having roast pork with roast potatoes, cauliflower, sprouts, peas and Yorkshire pudding. I made apricot and chocolate chunk flapjacks earlier today Sending much love to the dinner tribe What time is dinner? Can I sneak in the back door? MMMM roast pork, and the yorkshire pudding sounds good, although I've never tried it and have never attempted to make it. We are having homemade eggrolls with sweet chili sauce and steamed broccoli.

lucygWhere do you buy your produce? I've been complaining about walmart's lately, theirs seems to go off so fast.

I made sandwiches for lunch- BLTs with fried eggs and guacamole added. They were pretty good! Also had fruit and chips. since I made lunch we will have leftovers (chili) for dinner. It’s usually the other way around with leftovers for lunch but I’m mixing it up to add an element of suspense to Quarantine life. 😂
I’m going to make some raspberry lemon cheesecake bars for dessert.
I just realized I could start the peas Christmas cards during this time. That could be a great project to fill time assuming I have the supplies I’ll want to use.

I bought some produce at Trader Joe’s (I usually don’t) and the next DAY it was off - brown lettuce, etc . Grrr extra annoying since I want it to last longer than usual- not shorter.

I have noticed that the produce we have been getting has stayed fresh longer, probably because people are so craz6 when they shop right now.

It is not unusual to have 2-3 rice cookers in Japan. I have two. The big one was a surprise wedding gift and something I'd never used before but couldn't live with out now. My only complaint was it was too big most of the time so I bought a smaller one. The big one gets used mostly for sushi. I can't believe how this day has gotten away from me. It's 3:30 and I haven't even been for my walk. DD & I have been sucked into a puzzle. Dinner will be a teriyaki tofu stir-fry.

The other day a new Marion Grasby recipe popped up on my Facebook feed: Steak and Creamy Miso Mushroom Sauce. I decided to make the mushroom sauce and put it on chicken schnitzel instead of steak, because I already had so much chicken in the freezer. OMG, this is the BEST mushroom sauce I have ever had! We all LOVED it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

lucyg Where do you buy your produce? I've been complaining about walmart's lately, theirs seems to go off so fast. This is a mixed bunch. A giant bag of broccoli from Costco that is ancient and will.not.die (I’ve eaten half of it). Some squash from the supermarket and Brussels sprouts from Trader Joe’s ... again, I’ve eaten half, and the rest won’t die. So I keep eating and hoping. ETA I’ve had trouble in the past sometimes with both Costco and TJ’s produce not lasting well. But not this time!

A very reasonable question, but it does say Sloppy Joes on the carton. (I use sour cream containers for this kind of thing.) I’ll report back if it turns out to be something else.

Earlier this year, i oulled out a container that I had hoped was sloppy joes, but it was chili. I always swear I'll remember what things are, but obviously I dont!

Of course, sometimes I reuse the carton and sometimes I forget to cross out the old one and write the new one ...

I am not sure why I post to this thread as nothing I say clearly comes to pass. They are healthy and delicious ideas and yet things change and sometimes change back.
Let’s be honest here. I am sitting in a warm room, I am shivering and feeling very unwell. I may throw up and I am scared. I have had to buy stuff at the grocery store lately and honestly I do not feel right.

Dinner was rechauffe. It was supposed to be carnitas and summer corn salad, but I am in the midst of a nasty flare. So, we watched Survivor(we TIVO) and the guys had their choice btwn pizza and Chinese chicken salad. Dh declared that I should relax. He's a good guy, indeed.
Delta Dawn it could be a simple case of food poisoning or a stomach bug. Neither thing is pleasant, but it'll be done quickly. Please don't scare yourself silly.
We get produce at our local farmer's market. Not now, of course. However, during the summer dh uses his very green thumb and we just go outside and pick from the garden.
