So, I was at Sam’s the other day and saw some “comfort” bras in a 2-pack and said WTH, I’ll try them. They are sooo amazing, then I thought “I wonder if these are bras are the ones the Peas recommended?”...and, yup, it’s these Bali ones! I can’t tell you how comfortable these are compared to my underwire bras! I was really going crazy with the discomfort and PAIN I was in. It was affecting my psyche. These have been heaven sent. Regarding sizing-I am a 36DD+, and the size chart said medium..which, weirdly was right. Yea!! I am so happy to have found these! I am going to pick up another 2-pack.

I think “ comfy bra” is an oxymoron

I am a 38 B and wear a medium in these. I love them and have been wearing them for years. The Amazon $14.99 is a great price. Kohl’s also carries them and they do go on sale. I stocked up couple of years ago, I think I paid around $12 for them with a coupon. I bought a bunch as I wear them to work too.

Underwire bras were so uncomfortable for me and as I get older, the density of my breast tissue has gotten much thicker on one side (I’ve had a mammo & ultrasound - all normal) so I spill out of the cup on that side on most bras. These are flexible enough to fully cover my lopsided boobs, be supportive enough & comfortable, too!

I’m a much smaller cup size but I love Soma bras. Have you tried any of their regular bras, not the bralettes?

When I go braless I'm in danger of hitting myself in the face if I jump. DD bras are harnesses and not comfortable. Actually, when my boys are home I feel odd w/o a bra, but am much more comfortable w/o one. I'm paying close attention to this thread for ideas.

Thank you everyone who recommended the Bali comfort revolution bra. I found them on Amazon.ca surprisingly. I ordered one and I love it, so I ordered a couple more. I was worried it would be too tight, I need something that isn't or I'll get tension in my neck and shoulders and that can cause a migraine. But I was tired of having loose bra straps that kept falling down. This is so comfy and no wire and it's keeping my DDs up. The back doesn't ride up or move all day.

I ended up ordering several of the bras that were recommended. I got the True bra from target and really like it. Very Comfy and feels lightest of the ones I tried. Same fabric as the soma ones I have but more coverage in the cups. I want to try the one for larger cup sizes that is on their website.
I also tried the jockey (I think) that someone else posted. Also comfortable but feels more like a sports bra.
I got the Bali and the fit is not great for me but it is comfortable. I would wear it more in the winter because of how bad it looks on me under thinner shirts.
I also got a two pack of Spanx bralettes from Qvc. I really like them, although they do feel more firm support than the true and the jockey. But they look better under clothes and no wires.

I LOVE these for around the house. I wear them like actual underwear - for a full 24 hours, until I shower - then put on a fresh one. i just don't like the crinkly look when I'm wearing something like a snug tank. But I think I've gotten over that - because i wear these 99% of the time (i'm 40D). Just to change it up, I ordered some Spanx ones - and they were crazy uncomfortable. I sized up and they were still very snug. I sent them back. i also ordered TrueKind wireless bras. They are VERY comfortable. I guess these are my 'fancy' bras (for now).

I'm a 32G/H. Anyone got help for that? I need a new sleep bra. The one I've been wearing was from when I was nursing my little guy FOUR YEARS AGO.
The ones that are for DD and if I buy the size for my band there's no way in HELL it's gonna hold anything in!
My daily wear bras are 32G Natori Convertible sports bras. I wear them under everything and I don't exercise! LOL They're really comfortable but I don't want to sleep in an underwire.

Do you have a favorite bra that you like to wear around the house? I have two Soma Enbliss bralettes that are comfy but not that flattering. I wear a 36 DD and it just smooshes then together and makes a uniboob. I was on a zoom call the other day and was horrified by how I looked. Just wondering if there is anything that would look better and be more supportive but still be comfy? In my opinion, a well fitting bra is a comfortable bra. I think the reason why so many women find bras uncomfortable is because most women are wearing bras that don't fit properly. I wear a size 34J and am comfortable in my bra all day. I do not feel the need to take it off when I get home! I could be wrong, but in your profile pic, you look like you have a smaller frame than I do, so I feel like a 36 size band is probably too large. My guess is your band size is too large and your cup size too small.

But, even my favorite Soma vanishing back is not fitting properly right now. My biggest problem is that the wire under my arms doesn't fit right and the top part of the cup is a little loose by the strap. It is fine when standing up, but when I sit down it gapes.

I am not sure about Soma, but I would never trust a Victoria's Secret fitting. They will get you into a size that they sell. The problem is that most stores have a limited amount of cup sizes. Very few sell above a DDD and I know that many think that a DDD is huge. But really it is all relative to a band size. A D cup isn't necessarily large, it depends on your band size too. Many women should be in an F, G, or H cup or even larger. But since stores do not carry cup sizes that large they compensate by putting you in a band size that is too big. Most of the support from a bra should come from the band, not the straps. However since most women wear a band size that is too big, they are not getting proper support.
If you have a tape measure, measure you rib cage where you band should sit. Whatever your measurement is should be your band size.

I looked up "how to determine bra size" earlier today and it said to add 4 inches to your measurement. But maybe that is not accurate for all brands? I am trying to lose weight and I feel like my breast size is changing, despite not having lost much weight anywhere else. I will probably try to find some other nice bras in the future when I know what is happening there. For now I am mostly wearing the stretchy bras unless I need to wear "real" clothes and go to work.

VS had me in a 36DD. I was fitted at Nordstrom and the person doing the fitting was appalled at the fit I had from VS. I ended up in a 32G/H. What happens at places like VS, is that they go up in band size to get a cup size to "fit" you. NOT good.

Yeah, one time I went in to get another bra like the one I had been wearing (there was a sale) and they ere out of 36DD so the person said that a 38D would be the "exact same". I tried it on and it seemed ok in the dressing room but when wearing it, it was not right at all.

I recently tried the Auden one Linked above and it didn’t work for me. I also recently got a Skims sculpting bra. The size guide said I should order a S/M but I didn’t trust that and ordered a L/XL. There is no way a S/M would have fit. The L/Xl is comfortable and does give more support than some of the other unlined, wire free bras that I have. But I’m not sure it will look smooth under a tee, which is what I was looking for. With underwire, lined bras I always have gaping at the top of the cup and it drives me crazy. Going down a size isn’t the answer.

Although I'm not about supporting a store from a one post wonder posting on a year old thread, these ARE the most comfortable bras I own and all I wear unless I'm dressing up for something. They're like sweatpants for your boobs. I can sleep in these in total comfort (since getting implants after mastectomy, I greatly prefer wearing a bra because the implants are heavy). No wires.

KNIX!!! They are wonderful. They take one or two wears to form to your body - then its like having nothing on at all. I love the Luxe knit pullover bra - no hardware at all. I wear them to work and at home. I could wear it 18 hours a day no issues.
