I am a rip off the bandaid type person. When my schedule changes, the first day is rough, but then I am so tired I get back into the schedule pretty quickly. Most of my coworkers started getting up earlier and earlier in August before we went back to school. They lost out on two glorious weeks of sleeping in that way. I had one rough day at work and was ready to go by the second day.

I guess this is when it comes in handy to be a raging insomniac. I went to bed at 2:30 this morning and got up for work at 7 a.m. as usual. I even woke up a bit before my alarm, and I'm not even sleepy. I am not bragging, because I so desperately want to sleep better, but I have to admit right now it's working to my advantage!

My husband is working his normal office schedule from home so our schedule has not changed-up at 5 for showers and breakfast, start work at 6 and end at 4:30 with Fridays off. Then in bed by 9. Weekends we get up between 6 and 7 am and stay up a bit later. We are creatures of habit.

I have been a night owl all my life, and as an adult I naturally sleep for about 6 hours and then wake up. Doesn’t mean I GET up, though, as I hate getting up in the morning, no matter what’s going on. I almost never was able to go back to sleep once awake, but would read in bed and listen to news or just relax.
When school is in session, I’m usually out the door a few minutes after 7, which means I get up around 5:30 or 5:45. I wake up 98% of the time before the alarm goes off; it’s rare for me to actually be asleep when the alarm rings.
Now, with "office hours" for school from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, I have an alarm set for 8 am. I post my morning message and assignments and do whatever else I feel like before I ever get in the shower.
I go to bed whenever I feel like it. I’ve always had some nights when I couldn’t get to sleep or nights when I’d sleep hard for a couple hours and then wake up and not be able to go back to sleep. I'd often wake up an hour or so before the alarm and be awake until I had to get up. I still have those nights, but I’ve found sometimes I’m able to go back to sleep even after sleeping for my normal 6 hours.
I guess the good thing is that I can follow more of my natural body clock now because I don’t have to get up so early for school. And since I’m retiring at the end of this school year, it’s like a transition into a looser schedule for retirement.

I'm working from home, and my day officially starts at 8:15. I try to be up and logged on by 7:30 so I can run a computer scan with my anti-virus software--I don't want to be the employee who "breaks" Banner (our academic records system)! That means getting out of bed by 7:00 if I want a shower before I log on, but some days I don't shower until later in the day so 7:30 is fine. That still gives me time to get coffee and breaksfast while the scan is running.
I have a Zoom team meeting every day at 10:00, and I am grateful for the structure. If I had no work responsibilities, I would probably be staying up later and sleeping in, and honestly, I have never functioned that well on that schedule. I am just more productive if I get up at an earlier time.

My kids have to be online for school at 8 a.m. They take attendance and everything so there is sadly no sleeping in for us. The first few weeks they had to be online at 7:15 (the normal start of our school day before lock down) so it's nice to let them sleep an extra half hour. I'm actually kind of glad it's kept us on a pretty normal schedule.

I am a teacher and my “work” day starts at 8am and ends at 4 with a 2 hour lunch break. They allow such a big window in case any teachers or staff are traveling to pick up the free meals from the county.
I have 2 to 3 meetings at 8 am during the week and a 9am with my class on Tuesday so I am up and moving in the morning.
My son is a senior. His alarm goes off around 8:30 but he isn’t showered and at the table until around 10/10:30.
I ask him to be in his room around midnight. He is a bear if he doesn’t get enough sleep and I don’t need to add a crappy attitude to my life.

We are enjoying the sleeping in aspect to quarantine. We’re waking up at 8-8:30ish. Then we have breakfast and fart around until about 10 when the kids are ready to start school work. We work until 2-4, with a lunch break hour in there. It’s nice (minus the fact that I am the teacher). The boys actually commented how much they like home school because we don’t do it all day long, we get our work done really fast, and then we can play. 😂

DH has set up his office in our bedroom and starts work around 7:30am so I am up around 6:30 or 7am.
I wake the kids up at 9-ish and they usually come downstairs for breakfast around 9:30-10am unless they have a class call to get onto, in that case they would come down earlier.

I’m still working very part time, maybe two days a week - if that. I used to get to the office at 7 am every day. Now I’m going in around 8:30 and staying up until midnight every night. I used to be in bed and asleep by 9:30 most days, hell I’d be nodding off on the couch by 8 pm.
The only day I wake up before 7 is when I had to go grocery shopping, I like to get in line before the store opens so there’s a good chance everything I need is in stock on the shelves.

My dh is still working M-F from 6a until whenever he finishes. Instead of getting up between 5 & 5:15, he gets up at 5:30 and is working by 6. Typically I would get up at 5:30, same time as the kids. DS is getting up at 6am... because he's always been an early riser. Dd's get up at 8. I'm usually up by 7. So it's definitely later than normal but still relatively early.
I do find that I haven't been sleeping as well because all I've been doing is sitting around. So I've been staying up later than my normal 10-10:30pm bedtime. It's been 11 or later many nights.

The cats wouldn't stand for anyone sleeping too late around here! One of my cats wants breakfast at 6 am. You could set your clock by her eating schedule. LOL! The other cat is the best sleeping pill ever made. It like she radiates peace or something. So, we end up sleeping late. My sleep quality is definitely different with her presence. She sometimes decides to sleep with the Boy instead. It’s weird. DH is the early bird that takes care of feeding and letting the pups out for their early morning potty break. As to the OP, I am allowing myself to sleep as I need, while I can. With work, I am up at 5:15 and sleeping by 8:30. I never felt rested. It took two weeks of sleeping 12 hours a day for me to finally feel rested. I refuse to set an alarm unless I have to, at this point.

My schedule is off. I used to wake up at 6am to get ready for work and make sure my son makes it on the school bus on time. Now I have to force myself to wake up at 7am. I still work M-F and both kids are doing remote learning, but we usually don't get to it until 8:30.
