Our school is planning to have prom and graduation in July. They had planned a "drive thru" type of graduation, but the parents were very angry so they decided to have it in July.

Our district, along with several others in the area, will hold their graduations on the original dates at the Texas Motor Speedway. The guests will stay in their cars and will be able to see it on the big screen. Our district has purchased matching face masks for all our graduates. They will have their formal photos made too after the ceremony.

I don’t have a senior. But I know that parents were given 7 options and the winner was a later date for a regular ceremony, date TBD. Other options included doing nothing, split students into groups and have multiple ceremonies, and a digital ceremony where each student submits a photo and they show the photo when the name is called. The school is pretty large. There are at least 1,100 seniors. I like that Texas motor speedway thing. It’s nice that there is a large enough facility to accommodate that.

My DD’s graduation ceremony has been moved from May15th to August 5th. It is traditionally held at the event center at the University of Colorado, All of the public high schools in our district (I think there are about 25 of them) have been moved to outdoor venues (mostly school stadiums). We have yet to receive the other details but I know they are trying to keep it as close to the usual ceremony as possible. I’m sure they’ll limit in person guests and then live stream it for those not in attendance. We’ll see if it actually happens.

My district along with tons of the DFW metroplex districts is having their graduation at the new Globe Life Park where the Rangers were to start playing this year. All the graduations start June 1st. So far it sounds like kids are not going to be limited in guests. Dh will have to attend since he teaches high school. I know technically there is plenty of space to spread out, but I have a hard time believing all the mamas won’t crowd the home plate bleachers to get pics of their kids receiving their diploma at home plate. Hopefully they have a plan for that.

My DS will be having a virtual graduation on the 20th of May, which was supposed to be the day they where gonna originally graduate. There will be speeches and what not. And it's still TBD what, where and when an actual graduation is gonna occur. They keep stressing they are committed to giving the kids the graduation the deserve thru these difficult times. I just don't know how they are gonna do that. I'm assuming it's gonna be in the summer and will be limited number of people allowed.
My nieces who are also graduating but are in a different district are doing a drive thru graduation. I think that's kind neat.

Our district hasn’t decided yet. I have no Sr this year though.
Sadly I think those who opt for the unconventional this spring/early summer will end up with a better experience then the postponements. Either they won’t happen or too many students will be “over it” and moved on to college/military/ life and won’t come back for postponed ceremonies.

Ours is next week. It has been moved from the coliseum to the end of the football field where kids will line up at an appointed time socially distanced, and family units will be lined up in order to drive through and pause for pictures as their child walks the stage. Professional photographers and videographers will capture the moment, and all 8 hours will be live streamed and later compiled, I think. Child and families proceed to the front of the school for pictures together.
I heard a little complaining about not pushing it back, but administration said that too many kids are off to college early for sports to do that, though who knows what will happen now. Frankly, I think parents will have a much better view of their child this way, and I think most families have come around to the idea. I think the football field is much more personal than the coliseum.
Alison and her friends in the band each separately recorded their parts in Pomp and Circumstance last week (carefully timed with a metronome), and they made a big deal about it being special that the seniors got to play for their own graduation.

No graduation information yet here. We were told this week we are still to pick up caps, gowns and awards on the 20th, curbside now. Graduation practice and Senior walk were scheduled for the 21st and commencements on the 22nd. At this point DD just wants her tassel and cords and to move on.

My son is graduating and our school is staying with the May 31 graduation date but it is much different than our traditional ceremony. Our graduating class is around 600 and I don’t think anyone here anticipates being able to have a gathering that large this Summer. The speeches will be recorded and aired on a virtual platform on the 30th. The kids will be picking up their caps and gowns over 2 days at the High School(drive thru style) and there are various displays of community support planned during those pick up times. On the 31st school administrators and some teachers will be riding school buses through our neighborhoods and the graduating seniors will be outside in their caps and gowns with their families to receive their diplomas. Our neighborhood has plans to line the street with balloons of our school colors and neighbors are encouraged to come outside and cheer for the graduates. We’ll be having a party with our family afterwards. There will also be a fireworks display that night that families can watch from their homes or in cars. Money that had been collected for our traditional post graduation party will be donated to a local charity on behalf of the class of 2020 and a plaque is being made to honor them and will be displayed in the high school. Obviously not the celebration we expected but I think some parents are much more upset about it than the kids. Most of the kids I know of are just looking forward to beginning college in the fall 🤞🏻
