The only reason I keep Sirius is for Yacht Rock! This song is played a lot and I love it, but the lyrics are completely inappropriate. The video is even worse, talk about old man and jail bait. Benny Mardones - Into the Night She’s just sixteen years old. Leave her alone, they say. Separated by fools who don’t know what love is yet. I'm not so patiently waiting for it to return to the cheapie subscription! We are HUGE Yacht Rock fans here! Pandora works in the meantime but it's not nearly as good.

Just last weekend DSO and I were watching one of the music channels on TV, and the theme was Top 10 Songs with Women's Names. #1 was Jolene by Dolly Parton. I said to DSO that the song really annoys me. Dolly should dump his cheating arse. I mean, he's calling out for Jolene in his sleep! Talk about a slap in the face. Even if Jolene does give up her man, how is Dolly ever going to trust him again? She should walk away with her head held high, and for goodness sake stop begging for him! Show some respect for yourself! And as for thinking that you'll never love again and he's the only man for you..... PFFFFT girl, there are plenty of good men out there! I don't understand why people love that song so much! I love Dolly, and most all of her music. Reba on the other hand. Ugh. A song about killing her brothers cheating wife? A song about a mother setting her daughter up to be a prostitute? And, I admit, I do like the song "Does he Love you?" But like Jolene, get on with it, he's soooo not worth the effort lol Lastly, I love Blake Shelton, but Austin? Really? Is there a more whiney pathetic song on the planet? Dude sets his answering machine up, for years, to tell her (and everyone else) what he's doing, every day, and begging her to come back. Gah. At least Trace Adkins' "Every light in the house is on" he has a shred of dignity about it lol

I love Before He Cheats. It is so fun to sing loudly when you are pissed off at someone. It is one of my favorite singing in the car songs.
The Heart one mentioned is horrifying. I definitely skip that one it makes me so mad.
I also hate the Christmas one about the shoes. I have to leave stores when they play that one.

seaexplore I told them I would sub but not at full price. I got the select plan for $120 for one year, two cars. I can also stream on my phone. Call, the worse thing is they say no. I think a lot of companies are saying yes. $60/year is better for them than $0/year.

I canceled Sirius when the Covid started. I miss it.
Don’t even get me started on the Christmas Shoes song. I think that’s at the top of my most disliked songs list.
And I’ll admit I love the Reba/Kelly Clarkson version of “Does He Love You”. They sound so good together and Kelly’s vocal is amazing.
My current drives me crazy song is Girl Crush. (And not because some think it’s about a girl crushing on a girl). I think it has a stalker-ish vibe to it. That gals spending way to much time thinking about that girl and apparently the guy has moved on. She needs to get over it. Ha.

I really enjoyed Toto's Africa back in the day. DD14 performed to the Weezer version 2 years ago at her circus school gala. So we bought the new version and it got me to thinking about the lyrics which I didn't pay much attention to when it first came out.
What does Olympus have anything to do with Mount Kilimanjaro? "i.e. ....Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti” Olympus is in Greece, Kiliminjaro in Africa.
Oh well.

Laurie I am still laughing because I wonder similar things. Did the guy longing for Jessie's girl find a nice girl? Or was Jessie a jerk to his girl and she ended up with the singer? Did you really drink two bottles of whiskey all by yourself on a bus trip? And Carly Rae, you're giving your phone number to a total stranger? Stranger Danger! For a long time I've had an idea that a network should flesh out famous story songs. Every week a different song. Like do full out period costumes and settings and have the song playing in snatches throughout. Show the parents of the girl in "Leader of the Pack" having legitimate worries about their daughter. What happened after her daddy took that girl's T-bird away? What happened when someone called 8675309? And definitely Jessie's girl! Even "Old Town Road" - there could be an intriguing story there. Network Producers, are you paying attention? You heard it here first!

Pumped up kicks by Foster the People
I have to turn the station when it comes on. I absolutely cannot listen to a song about a school shooting.

All I Want To Do - Heart Having someone father a baby and not telling him. Apparently, even Heart doesn’t like the song. She was lying from Jump Street. All I wanna do... is have a baby. But he seemed happy to accommodate her request. Strange all the way around.also... how many guys did she use that line on before she got pregnant? You guys should check out some song reactions. Billy You So Crazy on YouTube has been doing some older songs lately. He’s fun to watch. This is his reaction to All I want to do youtu.be/j0wYEQuDCF8

That song is very popular at our dance studio. They have two routines to that song. I have never heard of it until the dance recital.

Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks. So depressing - why.why.do I know all the words??? Oh Gosh, I remember being in grade school and for 3 years running, being forced to sing that for 8th grade graduation ceremonies. I hate that song.
