That’s only because it’s becoming more acceptable because it’s so misused. It’s not actually correct. (It’s like “r u ok.” It’s acceptable because it’s widely used, and we can all understand what it’s saying but that doesn’t mean it’s correct.) If its in the dictionary, I say its correct. lol I know the dictionary does add words all the time as they are used so much over time like aint was added years ago. How is one to know what is really correct if they add the "non" correct words to the dictionary? “Irregardless” is in the dictionary, too, but that doesn’t make it right. And, yes, English is a living language that will evolve over time. Personally, I have no issues using words that are added, like “google,” for example. 20 years ago that wasn’t a word, but now it is. Using a word incorrectly just because a whole bunch of people have done it is different, and not a path I want to head down. As far as how we know? We learn. And when we know better, we do better.

I wish I knew. I suffer from nausea frequently and no one knows why, the best guess/answer is hypoglycemia. If I get too hungry I get nauseated and it can last for hours. Sometimes I wake up nauseated in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning. Today is a bad day, eating hasn’t helped today, I have been feeling bad since I woke up this morning.
Oh, I get motion sick also.

-Certain smells. For example, sometimes the smell of vomit or diarrhea can do it, other times, not at all.
-Certain body modifications that my instinct is apparently to view as mutilation. A very large ear gauge has made me nauseous and dizzy. The only other times I fainted in my life were due to illness/dehydration, but super large ear gauges can do it. It is weird, I have cleaned some very nasty wounds including an amputation and removed stitches, with no reaction. But show me super large ear gauges and I am gonna lose it.

I can't stand the smell of cedar mulch.
I now have a hard time with spinning amusement park rides. They were my favorite in my younger years. Now, anything more than a merry go round is too much. And actually I don't think I've been on one of those in at least ten years, so I might not even be able to do those now!

certain smells make me sick to my stomach... the smell of a long-closed-up, stale house, old stale cigarette smoke smell...
I also get bad nausea sometimes with migraines, which is NOT FUN at all!!
I also get nauseated sometimes when I move my head too quickly and my eyes don't 'track' or follow properly, or if I read too much, or if I'm outside a long time in the bright sun without sunglasses. That sort of eye thing happens a lot more often, now that I have progressive lenses. If they're the slightest bit *off* at all (like last week, I banged them with the sunvisor in the car and they ended up crooked), I was slightly nauseated / nauseous practically all the time till I got them fixed.

I often joke with people that I get motion sickness from just walking around. Pretty much any motion mentioned above - boats, planes, car, amusement park rides, swings, etc. - sets it off. It's gotten worse as I've gotten older.
I thought I'd be extra sensitive to feeling nauseated when I got pregnant, but surprisingly I didn't have morning sickness as long as I had some food in my stomach. However, it was while I was pregnant that I discovered I can't be surrounded by really "clean" smells. Going through the car wash now sets it off because that strong odor of the soap and the wax all around me makes me nauseated. I can't spray down the shower with cleaner and then get in to scrub. I need an escape or I just become overwhelmed.

Injury. If I see my own injury and blood, I get queasy, vomit, and if I'm looking for extra fun, I pass out.

Taking Advil or Aleve, especially on an empty stomach, but sometimes even if I take them with food. If I have a headache or cramps I have to weigh which is worse, dealing with the pain or dealing with the nausea! Ugh.
