I love Caffeine Free Diet Coke a lot but YOU GET IT IN BOTTLES!!! Seriously? I want that. I don’t like the cans that much and would much prefer it in a bottle!!!

Yes, we can get it in 12 oz and/or 16.9 oz bottles. I’m drinking from a 16.9 oz bottle right now, because cans are nowhere to be found. How sad that they don’t have them in your part of Canada! ☹️

Bingo! Got all three of the 12 packs of Coke Zero I ordered in my curbside pickup today. We’re good for a few weeks now. (DH drinks it too.)

I did grocery pickup at Walmart and at a local grocery store this week. I was unable to get Sprite Zero or diet 7Up at either store - I thought it was just a local problem. Now if I do find them I will feel like I should stock up.

I feel and share your pain.

I do get CF Diet Coke thru Wendy’s or BK’s drive-thru when I’m out and about - I do love my CF Diet Coke at night watching TV with my dh, so the fountain option doesn’t work all the time. Can you get it at McDonald's?

Can you get it at McDonald's? No, only plain Diet Coke with caffeine. They don’t have coke freestyle at our McDonalds here. ☹️ Can you do the ginger lime diet coke in those coke freestyle machines? Only in the caffeine free and maybe Coke Zero versions. For some strange reason, you can’t choose the ginger lime or lemon in regular Diet Coke. At least at the Coke Freestyle machines in Northern VA.

Ugh. Absolutely no cans of diet caffeine free Coke or Pepsi on the shelves at Kroger. There were some six pack of bottles so I bought as many as I was allowed of those. They are just going to have to be an occasional treat until I can locate some more.
There was absolutely no heavy cream, either. I got the last bottle of half-and-half that I can use for my soup. I think the second wave hoarding has begun.

I saw a sign at the grocery store that there is an aluminum shortage and the soda companies are currently only making their most popular flavours. Also, apparently, there is a shortage of CO2 which obviously impacts the supply of carbonated beverages 🤷🏼♀️ Oh no!!! I buy my CO2 refills for my Sodastream from BB&B. Haven't gone since the pandemic began, so I've been buying cans of seltzer. I need a little plain bubbly water with some meals. Grrr!

Re: the Coke Freestyle machines---if you have a Zaxby's where you are, I'm almost positive that they have the ginger lime diet Coke and just about every Coke product you can think of- Might be worth a look if you're desperate!

I haven’t been able to get diet Dr Pepper for about a month. Do you have Target near you? I was *just* there a few minutes ago -- where I found ORZO!! woo-hoo! -- and they had Diet Dr. Pepper! I was in that section specifically looked for CV Diet Coke for Elaine which is why I noticed the Dr. Pepper also. Closest one is two hours away. 😭

That's frustrating! I also love diet soda! I try to eat right, but that's the one thing I have trouble giving up. I prefer beverages as a treat to junk food. I hope you can find some!

This is just a vent. No need to try to talk me into giving up diet soda, because I don’t want to. 2 weeks ago 12 packs of cans of caffeine free Diet Coke disappeared from the grocery stores in Northern VA. So I bought the 6 packs of smaller bottles, because they had those. Not my preference for packaging, but I need my Diet Coke. Today I went to Target to pick up some bras I bought online for pickup and ran back to check for my CF Diet Coke and they are out of the bottles now too. CF Diet Coke is my drink of choice. I can make do with Sprite Zero, but I don’t want to. I was hoping that the cans would come back before the bottles ran out, but that apparently isn’t going to happen. I’m on the verge of a tantrum. Has COVID deprived you of a favorite food or beverage? Other than Costco 1/2 sheet cakes, that is, as we have recently covered that. Could have written your post except caffeine free diet Pepsi. I don't need it, but it's the one thing I just want. DS has/was starting to drink caffeine free (reg) Pepsi to to lose all that caffeine and that can't be (easily) found either. Weird. All the caffeine free stuff. I read somewhere about a carbonation/ CO2 shortage but why would that be caffeine free only? We had no soda shortage at the beginning, but diet cherry pepsi in bottles or cans are impossible to find. And now the soda sections are somewhat empty.

My DH is a Coke distributor. They are having problems with aluminum here in Michigan because we haven't been able to recycle our cans. So they are limiting what they produce. And in addition, they keep revising routes all over the place because shutdowns affect consumption in certain places. Jeremy has had his routes reworked 3 times during covid. And right now he doesn't even have a dedicated route, he's basically doing improv going to places with shortages each day. Thanks for sharing the information. We used to live in Michigan and I remember recycling our cans. So they don't allow recycling? Do they still charge the extra when you buy them (that you get back when you recycle)? I wasn't sure if they would waive that fee for now or if they just figure you could get it back once recycling resumes.
I hope your husband can get his routes straightened out.

They paused can recycling for a while for fear that it would pass the virus. They finally just reopened it. But we still had to pay the deposit on the cans.

So I went and looked them up and realized that I have seen them a couple of times before at movie theaters, but didn’t realize you could customize your drinks. I thought it was just a Coke branded soda fountain OMG Coke Freestyle machines are the best. thing. ever. For example, I mix ginger lemon with ginger lime and then top it off with some plain CF Diet Coke, because I don’t like too much syrup. You can also make things like Raspberry Sprite Zero. Or mix sprite and coke. Or any of hundreds of combinations. I will warn you that it is somewhat addicting because you develop your favorite mix and then don’t want to settle for “plain” from a soda fountain.

I've been a type 1 diabetic for 40 years. I gave up caffeine about 15 years ago. Living in Utah I could get quite a few CF diet drinks in stores that weren't made in other states, but in restaurants where I drank 95% of my soda it was rare. After awhile of really not drinking it I found that I really don't like colas anymore. Now I really like Shasta diet grape, but can only find it at Winco where even in good times it is sometimes sold out and the store is far enough I don't go to it regularly or Stewart's diet orange cream sodas which are expensive. But I love finding the freestyle machines because I can get CF diet non cola sodas when I am "out" even if those places are limited. I often get diet Sprite with strawberry. I like Sonic for that reason too. Yes, I know the flavorings are usually not diet, but that is a lot less sugar that a regular soda is.

I love cherry flavor so the next time we go to the movies I will have to check that out, maybe add it to Sprite. My blood used to consist mainly of Dr. Pepper, but these days I share a 20 oz with DH once a week. Except today. It’s Hamilton baby, I am splurging and having my own! Apparently I have been missing out with my bottled water, this newfound knowledge is not necessarily a good thing!

That happened to me too. But we eventually found some. Mission carb balance tortillas went missing as they had a shortage of an ingredient. Now the garlic naan at Trader Joe’s went missing which we use for individual pizzas. Won’t come in until August. Barilla Protein Plus spaghetti (and rotini and penne) was missing for months, found some online and bought 8 boxes. At one point I couldn’t find dove promises and that made me upset. Now they mess with my chocolate? But my husband found some Mother’s Day weekend and came home with 3 bags saying he noticed that one seemed important. 😂 I love naan pizza! So yummy! Everyone I've told about it thinks I'm weird.
