Have many of you heard about Tazhiana Gordon's community on Mighty Networks? MN is a social network alternative to using a Fbk group for chit chat, and I gather she'll be able to host classes there as well. precisely-tazhi-community.mn.co/feedDo you know any other craft groups using MN? I hate hate hate Fbk groups, so I'm interested in other ways to connect with and follow crafters. Besides, obviously, here

I believe this is what Victoria Marie is transitioning to at some point (or possibly already).

The Simple Scrapper membership is in MN as well. Otherwise, I don't know of any others. I did hear (like lilacgal said) that Victoria Marie was moving to the platform at some point.

I have not heard of her network, which I do get her newsletter, but will check it out. I did a MN with Susannah Conway and it worked fine. I didn't totally love the look of it with posting, but I guess if there are different ways to use it. But it is a way to have a private community.
I unfortunately just had to join FB for a few crafty things coming up, I have it all locked down just for those things.
I like that different folks are hosting various zooms, youtube's, insta lives, etc, but I generally am never available at those times, so I usually am watching a playback.

Victoria Marie is already on Mighty Networks, she's been on it since the beginning of the month, maybe a bit earlier? I believe this is what Victoria Marie is transitioning to at some point (or possibly already).

Victoria posted this in her Facebook group today about two hours ago. The NEW Victoria Marie Mighty Network Transition As many of you know, I announced that I will be moving the Victoria Marie Facebook Group to the NEW Victoria Marie Mighty Network this fall. This transition will begin next week. If you are ready to make the jump, click on the link below to join the network. LINK: victoria-marie-designs.mn.co/Otherwise, stay tuned for full details about the Victoria Marie Mighty Network and the transition schedule. The Victoria Marie Facebook Group will be deactivated on December 31, 2020.

I've joined up! It feels really positive and encouraging in there at the moment I'm wondering if they'll manage to keep it drama free. Fbk is a toxic cesspool (IMO) but I'm not sure if that's because of something inherent or just what people being together turns into. Tazhi has a LOT on her plate so hopefully managing this network will be good for her. And Victoria too - those ladies got BUSY.

What I don’t like is it appears you have to make a new ID for every ‘network‘ ( or use FB ) I don’t want to join using another platform. Or at least my app is trying to make me do a new ID. Why can’t I just join each network with the same ID

I had the option to use Fbk, Google, or Apple IDs as my log in, but I don't really want to use those either. Sigh.

I signed up for Tazhi's group, but I don't know if I'll be tempted to check in regularly. I like our board here for ideas and companionship, and I generally go to Instagram for secondary crafting inspiration. I'll give it a chance though. Might be fun!

I liked watching Tazhi in the class she taught for Scrap Smarter. Would love to hear/see more of her.
Tell me why I should sign up for this MN channel. What happens there? Is it like an open crop where you can meet up with other scrappers? Or an opportunity to watch Tazhi's creative process? Is it a message board like this one that members chat via keyboard or phone? Are there video chats like Zoom?
I am not on fb or yt or ig. I watch demo videos and classes when they come to my attention through here, or via email from various sb companies. I don't have a sound track for my craft room--don't have videos playing while I craft unless it is one I can stop and rewind to get specific instructions for the project I am creating. I enjoy the small Google Hangouts we have been doing each weekend with the Peas.
I need to hear more about this.

Clumsy is the perfect description of the Mighty Network app but if you use the same log in for each network you join, they will be linked together in that one account. Then when you go back & open the APP, there are 3 bars on the top left screen, touch that and the screen slides and there's a switch network link at the top, touch that and you'll be presented with a list of the networks you joined. (this is in the iphone app...I'm not sure about the website or android apps)

I like her and enjoy watching her youtube videos occasionally but not sure why I should bother signing up for a Tazhi-centric community. All this behavior with scrapbook-personalities just makes me roll my eyes.

All this behavior with scrapbook-personalities just makes me roll my eyes. *plops down on the cynical step next to cumber1137* It's a rinse and repeat of FB groups just not on FB. Not really my kind of thing. Never was. Nothing against what Tazhi's doing as she's simply following what all the other scrappy "celebs" are doing but it's still not appealing to me. I find a community à la Caylee Grey focused on a particular creative mindset and project far more interesting if you're looking into creating your own little digital coop to bring home the chicks.

I just signed up over there today under the free membership level. It's giving me access to blog articles, the gallery, and the podcasts, all of which I really do appreciate, but there's not much else. I don't expect them to give away everything for free, but I was hoping for a little more "community" like we have here. I'm disappointed that I don't have access to their messaging forums, though I can appreciate how having to pay for the privilege helps to keep the trolls away. They probably have plenty of "community" there to offer, just not within my budget. I think I must be pretty spoiled by what we have going right here. We're hard to beat for the price! I signed up for Tazhi's MN today too, and I might look into Victoria and Simple Scrapper. I don't know that I'll want to sign in every time I want to take a peek at someone's blog though. I think I might just stick to following folks on Instagram.

I enjoy the small Google Hangouts we have been doing each weekend with the Peas. I need to hear more about this. I haven't dug too deeply yet (so others please correct me if I'm wrong) but it seems to be similar to being in a closed Fbk group of Tazhi fans/community. There is a feed of conversations, like the threads here, but you can just scroll through them like on Fbk. Sharing threads, questions and polls and all things like we have here, but arranged in a feed. There seems to be a way to host a zoom hangout within the network - it looks like they did one the other day with a couple of dozen people. I gather it also creates a platform for Tazhi to host classes as well. I didn't feel like it was intended just to be a Tazhi fangirl page in the long run, but a gathering of people who like her style and projects as well as a way she can lock in a crowd of fans/viewers if/when she leaves Fbk. I'm not sure that I'd want to join several of these groups, although I supposed that's what you're doing on Fbk too, if you join multiple groups. It's just all muddled up in one place on Fbk. I joined to see if it was something I wanted to be part of, in addition to this community. For now I'm uncertain if I will visit often. I have often wanted to join scrappy groups like the ones Tracey Fox, Ali Edwards, Victoria Calvin, Simple Scrapper, our own lilacgal and others host, but I really hate Fbk and hate Fbk groups. I'm not sure if it's the venue or format or something else, so we'll see. I partly joined because the more I can get my life off Fbk the better. So I want to support creators who are finding ways to break away from that platform. ETA: I don't think you're missing out on anything much grammadee . It seems like you have a good time here

I hear about the community but I'm not sure if I actually want to be part of it, and I can't see without joining... I think we have it pretty darn good here! Especially for free. I'm sure that there are people who don't like the vibe here, but I find it works pretty well for me, so I'm not planning on jumping ship any time soon. Instagram is about as much scrolling through feeds as I really need. Most days I should be doing less of that, not more!

If I can link the groups I join, as christinec68 suggested, I'll be happier. ETA, I joined Victoria's group, but I can't find a way to link them on my laptop. If I end up adding more MN groups, I'll try downloading the app (can you download it to an android? ) I wish there was some method of searching by topic for additional groups to join. If there is a way, I haven't found it yet.
