I bought an Outback last winter and I love it.I had wanted one for quite some time. I had been driving SUVs and was tired of driving big vehicles. My husband kept suggesting that I look into these other smaller SUVs and I kept telling him that maybe he could look into the vehicle that I wanted. He is now a fan of my Outback. I live in northern Minnesota and you see so many people driving them because they are great on snow covered roads.
I also test drove a Crosstrek and I liked it. It's a little smaller than the Outback. I sat in the backseat and knew that I would have adults who would ride in the backseat and decided that I would go with the roomier Outback. I do like the look of a Crosstrek better. They are sporty and you can get them in some fun colors. There is someone in my town that drives a bright orange Crosstrek and I love it. We are in the market for a car for my daughter and we'd love to get her a Crosstrek but it's more than we want to spend.

I am on my 4th Subaru. The first two were late 80s - early 90s models. Both were sold with over 200,000 miles and running well. Loved them both but moved away when Subaru went through the ugly years (as we call them at our house). When the Crosstrek was introduced in 2017, I jumped on it. We were in the market for the Outback, but I preferred the sportier, fun look of the Crosstrek better. Loved that car! Reasonably priced, relatable, AWD, and fun to drive. I just upgraded to the 2021 Crosstrek, for no other reason than everything I loved on my original Crosstrek has been made even better on the 2021 model, plus it has Apple CarPlay which the 2017 didn’t. The 2017 held its value so well, we made a nice little profit on the resale, which was a great surprise. I am so happy with with my new Crosstrek, I imagine I will be driving this one for quite awhile.

I just got a new car in October. When I first started looking, I thought I'd go with the Subaru Forrester, based on feedback from friends and Consumer Reports reviews. I test drove it, the Rav 4, Chevy Equinox, Ford Escape, a used Audi Q3, and the Honda CR-V. The CR-V felt the best to me, and my mom agreed (she went car shopping with me). I would strongly recommend test driving a variety of makes and models. Good luck!
