Yes, I know. 😀. That was a reference to his father, and the Trump comments about him.

I have no scorecard and even less knowledge. Are there Republicans who publicly intended to support the objection but flipped tonight?

Hawley was photographed outside the capitol giving the maga terrorist the fight on fist pump. He is such a (fill in the blank as you see fit). I can't stand him! And he was whining the other day about people protesting outside of his house. Yet he supports what happened today. I have never had so much anger than I have had this past year at these Republicans. I didn't leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me. And has me cheering so hard for Biden, and the other Democrats!

OMG....I told DH that I wouldn't be surprised if Mitt snapped and stabbed him in the neck. Even on national TV, everyone will swear they saw nothing and someone will toss the murder weapon into the Potomac.

May be Romney and other republican representatives should have looked at themselves in a mirror with that look months and years ago. So it takes an attack on the building they are all working at that moment to look that way? Would they have reacted this way if the building was breached when no one was there? Romney, to his credit, has been a staunch challenger to Trump for years. This is not an about-face for him, unlike others. Yes, Romney spoke out against Trump before the 2016 election, calling him a fraud and a phony. Look up his March 3, 2016 speech. He encouraged Republican voters to choose a different nominee - Rubio, Kasich, Cruz - pretty much anyone but Trump. I am a conservative. I have been feeling like I don’t belong in any party. Today I realized I’m a Romney Republican. Did I hear that phrase somewhere or did I make it up? I don’t know, but it fits. I reject anything connected with Trump and, in fact, nearly everything the Republican Party has done in the last four years. But I will stand with Romney. He acts on principle.

And I don’t blame him. Hawley is a monumental ass. When Mitt Romney is trying to kill someone with his eyes, from behind a mask, people should take notice. STFU, Josh Hawley. I saw that, there were fire and daggers being aimed squarely at hawley’s back. Unfortunately as it was with trump, I had to mute hawley. I just cannot with him. What I did see left me wondering if we might see another run from Romney...or at least might have if he was younger. He looked thoroughly disgusted. His utter lack of judgement made me unable to vote for him last time. ( yes the dog thing ) while he might be the most responsible adult Republican in the room today, the democrats would have to pick a pretty bad candidate for me to consider a vote for Romney Light years better than Trump, for sure, but the bar needs to be higher than that - way higher

To be fair, I would venture to say that Romney is a true Republican, and it’s the rest of the party that has gone completely off the rails in the last decade or so.

So... Margie Green, the Qanon fuckweasel House (70 members) tried to object to the certification of the electoral votes for Michigan, but failed because no senator would sign on.
House (55 members) also tried to object to their certification, but no senator would sign on.
Pennsylvania was objected, and was signed by a senator now they’ve gone onto their 2 hour debate crap.

The Senators who initially were going to sign on to the objection letters for Georgia and Michigan, withdrew their support after the sh%t show today. The only reason why the PA objection now has to be debated is because Hawley - supporter of the protesters today, and the senator mentioned in my OP - insisted on signing the letter of objection. We could have been done by now. But Hawley and the GOP Representatives who signed on are dragging it out. For show.

I've always liked Mitt Romney. I voted for him when he ran and won for Governor of Massachusetts.
