I had my first covid test yesterday (no exposure, it is pre-op) and it was fine. All those months of seeing videos of people being swabbed had me a little concerned.

Cake batter flavoring was actually in stock on Amazon and less than $10 for once. I’ve been wanting to make a certain recipe for a year and couldn’t because I couldn’t find that flavoring anywhere!
And on a totally unrelated note, I took my dog to the groomer yesterday so she is all cute, clean and non-stonky now.

I had a complete knee replacement 9 weeks ago & I have full range of motion back. My physical therapists says that I am far ahead of schedule and doing great!
My son-in-law got accepted to nursing school!

My exchange with my 9 year old this morning:
"Mommy, I have no clean pants."
"I just did all the laundry. Did you check your laundry basket?"
"Daddy told me to use that as my dirty laundry basket."
"So you just put the dirty clothes in on top of the clean ones?"
I swear, teaching common sense is going to be the death of me LOL

Over the fall I reconnected with some relatives that I had lost touch with. It’s like we haven’t skipped a beat and we’re having so much fun sharing family stories, recipes and our current favourite things. There really is nothing like family!

DS would put his folded clothes on the floor, then pick them up with the dirty so they ended up in the laundry again! That is when I taught him how to do his own laundry! |

Introducing Princess Leia. We got her last Monday unexpectedly. The breeder had been planning to keep her, so we had only a one to clean & puppy proof.
Obi 1 has been very good with her. He is now 7 years old, from the same NH farm. Our first lab, Chewbacca, passed this fall and was almost 16 years old.
Leia is the smartest lab that we have owned. Very food motivated, and has few wet accidents in the house so far. And, other than the horrendous second night, has slept very well. She holds it from 11 pm to 6 am.
She is wearing him out!!

This morning my almost 17 yo told me thank you for trying to keep him on a normal schedule and setting boundaries. He was at his dads the other night amd it was a real eye opener for him. My 19 yo is coming back on Friday and staying until she goes back to college. Her birthday was January 3 and we haven’t seen her yet. I bought an “office” birthday kit with brown and gray balloons (they match the carpet!) and a banner that says “it is your birthday”. She’s going to LOVE it. So worth the $20 to make her smile! If you’re an office fan you’ll get it.  |

My niece had her baby last week. Safe n sound and healthy. She's had a very tough life - her mom is an alcoholic. I'm thrilled for her happiness.

I spent WAY too much money last weekend buying clear bins at Bed, Bath and Beyond but boy does my organized pantry look awesome!! I was staring in to it last night and DH asked me what I needed. I replied "To stand here for hours just staring". He didn't know what to say, just walked away.  |
