One of the women from Texas interviewed on CNN, said she didn't have time to dye her hair before packing and leaving! đ. They did do it quickly!

Last night on PBS NewsHour, Texas GOP Rep Taylor talked about the election bill. He complained that 10 million Texans went to work but the 51 Democrats were skipping out, and not doing their job. He tried to suggest that the Dems did have a seat at the table. He alleged that he had seen cases of voter fraud and even 1 case was too many. He even suggested the Democrats were being hypocritical and playing partisan politics. Talk about accusing others of what you are guilty. Then he used a false comparison and talked about Delawareâs laws, suggesting President Biden should do something about those before he tries to fix Texas. So infuriating how the Republicans are spinning it. www.pbs.org/newshour/show/texas-dems-encouraging-federal-takeover-of-elections-gop-rep-taylor-says?utm_medium=event&utm_source=playlist__linkThese are the kind of things that Americans don't want. And what Texans expect is our legislature â legislators show up to work and do their job. Ten million taxpayers showed up to the office today. But unfortunately, 51 members of Texas House decided they didn't need to do theirs. As far as this Texan is concerned, my rep did the job I elected her to do by getting on that plane to DC. Exactly! The Democrats are sacrificing a lot by leaving their families and other jobs, all on short notice. Maybe the Republicans should do their jobs and actually listen to what Texans want for voting laws. And maybe instead of trying to fix something thatâs not broken, try fixing something that is, like your electric grid.

Beau of the 5th column had an interesting perspective on the walk out. He compared it to the filibuster and suggested they were both procedural processes. I think there are some similarities in terms of numbers and objectives. However, in terms of practicality, the Senate filibuster is much easier to use and itâs possible to use it more frequently. And the way that McConnell uses the filibuster does not encourage debate. I do think the Texas walk out brought attention to the issue.

I haven't seen anything about it in my area.

Exactly this. Except, 84% Republican county, my rep obviously didnât. Boo. But I think the 51 were doing their jobs and trying to make sure their constituentsâ voices were heard.

WhichâŠsurprise, surpriseâŠcoincides closely with the percentage of Trumpsâ base. I think I remember 28%. So it seems like very few people outside of the rabid base want this.

And the primary reason that formerâs base wants stricter voting laws is because he told the Big lie so many times they actually believe it. And the Republicans donât have the courage to call him out on it. Trump disparaged the radical left wing media, so his base doesnât have an accurate source of news.
