Just found out that 3/5 kindergarten teachers here are anti-vaxxers and rarely wear a mask in class. Lovely. Wow. If my kid caught Covid from one of them I’d be Pea Livid.

ME!!!!! I got to make calls today! One of my kids tested positive today. Symptoms started yesterday. They were at school Friday. This is the first positive case we've EVER had (that we know of) at our site and it's in my homeroom. Oh the honor! LOL We are a masks required school except outside at recess or eating lunch in the cafeteria. PE they're optional. There are 26 kids who had calls home. We divided them up so I really only had to do 5. A letter also went home about it via email/messenger system. Since we are all masked, the kids can do a modified quarantine if their parents want them to... come to school as long as they have no symptoms, wear their masks properly, twice weekly testing for 10 days from exposure. If they refuse to be tested, they have to stay home for the 10 days from exposure. If they're vaccinated, they don't have to test but still need to stay home if they have symptoms and wear their mask properly. The kids who were exposed can come back September 8. Fun times! My first one out came back today. We haven't had any new cases in a week. I have the pleasure of emailing two parents tomorrow to let them know their little darlings refuse to keep their masks up over their noses. One of our teachers had a sub two weeks ago while she took her daughter to college that took her mask off constantly and told students that the whole thing was a hoax, the vaccines didn't work and they were stupid for wearing masks. Needless to say, she won't be subbing at our school again.
