Nothing right now. I can’t wear polish at work and keep my fingernails short, but I am starting to think about getting my first pedi for the year (give my toenails a break over the winter). I always debate on what color I want, and inevitably go for OPI “I’m Not Really a Waitress,” a really pretty classic dark red, for my first pedi of the season!

That Arigato from Tokyo is so pretty! For some reason, colors that I like on my fingernails I don't like on my toenails. But I really like this color a lot. I bought a few bottles at TJ Max to have extras!

So pretty! When I was pregnant with my youngest, and had an appt. before Christmas, I told the nurse I love her nail polish and asked what was the name of the color. she said "I'm not really a waitress". I thought she thought I said she was a waitress because I didn't know opi had funny names!

Olive and June JM on my fingers. Nothing on my toenails at the moment.
I would describe JM as a muted, bubblegum pink. It looks great on shorter nails like mine. I accidentally bought a second bottle when I was taking advantage of an Olive and June sale, so I’ll be wearing it a lot!

I have *just* taken my nail polish off, and I forgot to get a photo of it. This is a photo of someone else's nails from the Sistaco Facebook group, and this is the look I copied. Ballerina with Satin tips. The weekend before I did an ombre using Ocean Rush and Flamingo. It looks quite different in different lights:

I’m not usually a huge fan of sparkly nails AussieMeg but that looks so pretty in the sunshine 😊 I have just taken my gel polish off and will wait a day or two to re- do them but can’t decide what colour I’ll do yet. Maybe I’ll get some inspiration here 😊

I don’t wear nail polish on my fingers but I got my first pedicure today in a very long time. I went with light pink. I basically always do shades of light pink lol.

I just need to get my stuff together and take the time! I went to Burger King (I know, lol!) and both girls had some awesome nails! And there I am with my plain old crooked, need some cuticle care, plain old fingers!

I am making an effort with cuticle oil and hand cream, and they are improving a bit, but it doesn’t take much neglect for my hands to look bad again. But I’m a lunch lady and wash my hands a jillion times a day. Oh and mine are crooked too from arthritis!

I've just re-done my nails. I wanted to try one of my new colours, which is Sapphire. It's a metallic colour. I tried it out on my thumb, then decided it was a bit dark, so I did an ombre on the rest of my fingers - Sapphire (metallic) and Ocean Rush (holographic). The ombre effect is quite subtle. It's really hard to get a photo that shows the true colours! I think I took about ten, and this is the closest to how it looks IRL.

My poor nails have got to that stage where they are splitting at the edges of the Beau's lines from the chemotherapy last year. I had gels put on 3 weeks ago just to stop the torn edges from catching on everything and ripping them off. They were rose gold glitter but I forgot to take photos. I'm having them redone this afternoon, just clear this time, and I might remember to take pics.
They're so soft and fragile. I can't wait for them to be strong enough to be functional nails that I can use as tools again. I can't even peel the backs off double-sided tape at the moment. {sigh}

Right now I have a base color of Zoya Sia, with Zoya Pippa painted on a few nails to mimic the Ukrainian flag.

I haven't had anything on my nails for awhile but I saw someone wearing a really pretty color the other day. I wish I had asked what it was. It was kind of a light cornflower blue with maybe a tinge of lavender. I have been leaning towards subtle colors and this had just enough of a spring vibe without being too in your face.

I used to always ask people what color they were wearing. Now everyone seems to get them done, and they have no idea what "number" they used. So when I see someone with perfect looking nails, I don't ask as I assume they were done at the salon.

There are so many beautiful nail polishes available these days, but I am terrible at painting my own nails. The worst. It's also very dry in Colorado, so while my nails grow fast, they break pretty easily. I find it easier to go to a salon and get gel manicures. I have a pretty standard mauve right now (That's as festive as I got for Valentine's Day ). Before that I had matte olive green. My favorites are greyish purple, the matte olive or matte black with shiny black tips. I've done nail art a few times because the girl I go to does some really cool stuff. I had 'REDRUM' across my nails and 2 little bloody handprints for Halloween.

I have severe breakage. Every nail gets a crack or chip in the side and needs to be cut off. They are a disaster.

I’m wearing Olive & June KAG. It’s a peachy pink color. Nothing on my toes, probably not until May.

There’s different types but I imagine the one for sensitive nails might be best. Not super cheap but a fab product 😊

My nails were a mess when the "dip" finally came off, so I probably won't get it done much. But it was so nice to have nails not chip. It's so hard for me to see to paint my nails, and a nail salon is right down the street!
I got my toenails painted before the beach too, just polish change for $15. It lasts a while, so it was worth it because they do a much better job. I bring my own polish and don't get the pedicure, just the polish. I am embarrassed by my feet, so I want to be out as fast as possible. I feel bad for them having to touch my feet, haha!

The cuticle care is what I struggle with. I'm taking a break from painting my fingernails for a while to work on cuticle care and 'winter thumb' (what I call that splitting of the fingertips from winter dryness). I've been using Hard as Hoof a couple of times each day and then again before bed really taking time to massage it in. It's making a great difference!

Sadness. Sadness is what I get every time I look at my nails. They are short and uneven and need some work. I have felt totally uninspired to paint them- that's why I opened this thread. I do love a holo, glittery nail polish though. I have some I got from amazon by Color Club that I love. Maybe I'll get myself together and paint them this week!

Right now I have OPI 'Suzi is My Avatar' on my fingers and toes. It's a lovely spring coral color. I'm getting my nails done tomorrow -- I might go with OPI 'Can't CTRL Me', which is a shimmery light blue.

Is work taking a toll on them? Covid...lol I stopped getting acrylics during covid and grew out the damaged nails and it was going pretty well, then I used an el-cheapo Chinese gel polish on them from Amazon and I don't know WTF was in it but it really weakened them, caused them to peel and made them really brittle, and they snap off as soon as they get above my finger tip. I figure I'm going to have to grow out the whole length again, so until then I'm keeping them filed right down.

I have been using bag balm and neutragena norwegian hand cream for the cracks on my thumbs. I saw a recommendation of finger cots on amazon. They are like rubber gloves for the fingers. I love them! I keep them on my thumbs most of the day. Even when the cracks go away, I still have to wear them as they come back if I forget to sleep in gloves. I will probably wear them a lot until June, when it's warmer and my hands are less dry.

I loved how nothing I did chipped or broke a nail too. They looked terrible when they were growing out, I wasn't a fan of the process when I got them redone, and my nails were in rough shape underneath if I waited too long between going and any of them came off in between. Knowing it was probably bad for them didn't stop me from still doing it because I liked the end result. I go to a nationwide (I think) franchise salon now, and they only do "natural", so no dip, acrylics, etc. I love Ema (She's become a friend now) and the owner of the salon is awesome. I'm always happy if I walk in and she's there. (we won't talk about how bad I need a pedi right now. I put them off forever because I'm uncomfortable with people touching my feet, but I also really want them to be in decent shape. After 2 back surgeries, I just can't contort and paint them myself anymore. At least the gel lasts a long time!)

You were always so adventurous with your nails… kind of my alter ego because I tend to the classic conservative side on nail length and polish. I hope they grow out quickly and strongly for you.
