I am trying to insert a picture into a post. It's in my photobucket account and I've tried the url, html, and every other combination using the little insert picture clicky at the top of the create post box. All I get is the little blue and white rectangle thingy. I know I am using very technical terms here (clicky, thingy) but hope someone can understand and help.

I couldn't get it to work when I clicked on the picture icon - but if I just insert the HTML code thing into my post it works great Try it without the icon

Thanks for the reply. I just tried that and then it just shows the long text from the code. Is this maybe an issue with photobucket and maybe there is a better place to host the images?

Okay, I figured it out. But my pic is huge so I'll need to figure out how to make it smaller. Oops . . . forgot to add thanks! That is pretty easy to do. Here is how. If your photo posts in your thread and it is too big make sure you are on the preview tab Let go of the mouse and you are done and your photo is now bigger or smaller (depending on what you did). Here is the same upload but I just followed the steps above and got different sizes

That is pretty easy to do. Here is how. Hey disneypal just wanted to say thanks for jumping in and helping out so much with these 'how to's!

I am very glad to help. I am a visual person who likes step-by-step instructions so I hope the "how-to's" are helping others.

I never could get that "preview and drag the corners" thing to work. But for those of you who can't also, and who use Photobucket, you can resize right in Photobucket. Choose "edit" and then change the numbers in the sizing box. I have no idea what any of the numbers mean, I just typed in something smaller. lol. Then try posting it here and see if that works. If not, just delete and go back to Photobucket and make the numbers smaller. And I am absolutely NOT anyone techie, so if I can do it you can too.

I'm going to use this thread to practice 'cuz I can't seem to get this for some reason. And I'm normally not this technically challenged! Here goes
Okay, so I got the picture in there, but I can't resize it. I keep clicking on it but I'm not getting the outline box. What am I doing wrong?

I am using flikr and can't seem to get it to work either. I had some trouble with Flickr today, too. Some photos worked, while others just showed up as those annoying blue question-mark boxes. No rhyme or reason for success vs. failure.
So I opened an account at PhotBucket. Some trial and error before I discovered it ONLY works when I copy and paste from the "Direct" link on PhotoBucket (to this board's "Insert Image" box). "Email," "HTML," and "IMG" don't work.
(I like that you get to skip the whole Properties ---> copy URL steps on PhotoBucket.)

okay so I am back to this problem. Thought I could eventually figure it out but....
Is there a way to upload photos using Flikr?
or do I have to use photo bucket?

UGH. I can't make it work. I have Photobucket. I do the IMG one, tried the HTTP one, and those are the only links it will give me. I guess I can try again later. LOL...

[IMAGE]http://i180.photobucket.com/albums/x195/shurtsgirl/_9244562_zpsdf54c733.jpg[/IMAGE] The first bracket should be [ IMG ] (no spaces) The last bracket should be [ /IMG] (no spaces) You can also click reply (not quick reply but full reply) and select the icon that looks like a photo and paste the https:// code

With photobucket, you need to use the link that's labeled "Direct" 1. Find the photo that you want to use 2. Click on the little gear symbol in the upper right corner of your picture 3. Choose "get links" 4. Click on the box just under "direct" (it should copy automatically) 5. Use that link that you just copied here in the "insert image" option (the one that looks like a little pic of mountains) 6. Paste your link into the "image url" field

Okay, so on my computer it isn't giving me a direct link option. I just clicked on the img one, then deleted the img at the front and back. Pasted that in the little "share a photo" box, and it worked. LOL!! YAY!!!
