We flew out of KCI 2 weeks ago and it was fine. We got there about 1.5 hrs early for a 6:50am flight. There was a line going thru TSA, but it was only about 20-30 min process. To me, KCI is one of the easiest airports to use. Not sure how the new one with be! Have a good time on vacation!!

I agree, I love going out of the current airport, and shudder to think what the new one will be like TSA wise. I think by the time we get the dog to the boarder, get home and get the car loaded it'll only be an extra hour waiting. I'm ok with that. If I have to I'll bribe people with Starbucks.

We had a 9 day cruise scheduled. Flew from San Diego to Newark to catch a flight to Venice. Flight delayed an hour. Original time to leave was 6:45 pm. Boarded the plan and left the gate only to return because of a mechanical issue. Waited and waited for maintenance to come. Finally got the issue fixed only to have to wait for the paperwork. Then we were told three bathrooms were stopped up. WTF. We sat on the plane for over three hours! No lie or exaggeration. We all got off the plan to wait for an update. Midnight the flight was cancelled. So no way we were getting to Venice on time to catch the ship. Rebooked and headed to Lisbon Portugal. Customs there was a nightmare. Had to beg and plead to cut the line to get our boarding passes for Athens or we would have missed our flight. So stressful. Then from Athens we had to fly to Corfu where we finally caught the cruise ship two days later. United could only get us to Athens. We had to find our own flight to Corfu. It was a gamble. The cruise was wonderful but I felt like we flew for three days straight with all the time changes. Just got home last night. I just don’t understand what’s happening with the airlines and all these delayed flights. Our second flight back home from Newark was delayed an hour.
ETA: We also had to take another covid test as ours had expired by the time we met up with the ship. Thank goodness they were negative.
