Hi everyone! Well, we countered the offer on our house and never heard a word back. Crickets. Obviously the person is not super motivated. Such is life! I don't have any showings booked today so far ... the weather outside is gorgeous so it's not surprising that people don't want to look at houses ... No plans today other than a little bit of work ... gotta make up a small assignment ... I posted this on Facebook today ... I love my meal kit boxes ... they force me to cook at least three times per week but my kitchen always looks bad after I'm done ... I guess that's on me! Dinner tonight will come from my latest meal kit box that arrives today ... I don't remember what I ordered so it will be a surprise! Hugs and positive thoughts to anyone who needs them today! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

It is a lovely Sunday here. As usual, we went to church this morning, but even that was an adventure. The 2022 European Championships are on in Munich since Friday, and involves athletics, cycling, gymnastics, bouldering and other sports. Today was the cycling road race, and the route went right down the street we usually drive down to get to Mass. We ended up parking about a km away, outside the restricted zone. Others were caught out, so our 10:30 Mass didn't start until 10:45.
After lunch, DH went to the airport to pick up a work colleague, who is going to be based here in Munich for the next 7-8 months. Naturally, the road closures affected that too - not going to the airport, but getting from there to the colleague's apartment, and then from there back home.
Dinner here tonight is chicken, prepared however DH makes it, but it will be cooked on the grill. With it, he is making garlic-chilli potatoes and most likely some salad.

Leanne I have been a big fan of meal kit boxes too. I don't mind the cooking part but I really hate the menu planning, the clean up and you all know the grocery store gives me chills. Jeremy is there right now though picking up some stuff. Darcy Collins I read your post this morning and I wanted to send my condolences to your friend. ❤️ sueg how long now until your trip? It's got to be getting close. Well if you read my thread last week, you will have known that I want to incorporate more meatless meals into my cooking. I don't have any kind of ethical concerns or anything, it comes down to two things for me: 1) I just really don't care for most pork, beef, and chicken. I can live without it. Maybe not bacon. But the rest yeah. And 2) I would like to have more vegetables in my diet. Basically I want to be more conscious of the things I'm eating from a health standpoint. So tonight I am making some rice-veggie burrito bowls. I promised Jeremy I would roast a chicken breast for him to put in his. But mine will be without meat. I plan to try making a pound cake this afternoon. I'm debating doing a cinnamon pecan swirl in it too. But a pound cake just sounds good to me. Otherwise I'll just be hanging out today trying to just enjoy my downtime because this week is going to be busy at work.

sueg how long now until your trip? It's got to be getting close. I leave Munich at 7:28am Thursday on a high speed train to Frankfurt, then fly from there mid-afternoon. I have started organising things I have to pack, except for clothes, which will happen once I have done laundry on Tuesday. I am with you on making more meatless meals - we currently are aiming for one a week, but I want to increase that once I am home again. At least my DH is on board with it, which makes it easier - he even suggest some ideas when he tries something when eating out.

I want to incorporate more meatless meals into my cooking. I often only choose the fish/seafood or vegetarian options in my meal kit boxes ... like you, I'm not crazy about most meat or poultry ... I do enjoy a nice steak from time to time though. I know that I sometimes have trouble getting enough protein in though so watch out for that!

leannec , is it past the *respond by* date/time? It's starting to heat up again, all this week will be at least 100 degrees. I'm going to try finding a pot roast at Raley's again. Hopefully they'll have some smaller ones.

That meme is so true cadoodlebug! I even do this with crafts. I'm like in the very thick of something and just dying to be done with it. Yet I can't bring myself to work on it.

leannec , is it past the *respond by* date/time? Yup .. The realtor never got back to ex ... not to say "This is our final offer." or anything ... so unprofessional. No problem ... someone else will be interested.

DS wants baked chicken thighs so that will be dinner. I bought groceries this morning so there are plenty of fresh veggies from which to choose. jeremysgirl I’ll trade cookies for pound cake!! I have a recipe for a cream cheese pound cake that is amazing. I haven’t made it in probably 15 years.

No problem ... someone else will be interested. Very rude and unprofessional. Years ago a young realtor emailed DH a contract on one of DH's listings. Didn't bother to call and let DH know he had written an offer. We were out of town that day and DH finally saw the offer and called the realtor and asked why he didn't call to let him know he had written. The young punk told DH this is how it's done now, get used to it. DH had been in the the business for over 30 years and, thankfully, his sellers didn't accept the offer because they had a better one. So many people got in the business back then because it looked *easy*. Bad markets weed them out really fast.

leannec, the other realtor sucks! I hope you find a great buyer, right away. Ds's lease was delayed, so the house is still fixed w/boxes and stuff. I'm looking fwd to the getting rid of the mess and having my house back. We've been doing some major sorting and purging. Dinner will be the panko chicken and steamed rice w/veggie that I didn't make last night. Enjoy your day, tribe.

There is rechauffe pizza in my fridge that needs eating, so that’s probably dinner. If I manage to stop being lazy, I might make KelleeM’s amazing cookies from yesterday. If that happens, then it may just be peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for dinner, instead. leannec, that meme! Yes! Also cadoodlebug’s meme. Story of my life. cadoodlebug, I really appreciate your posting the weather, because then I don’t have to look it up. Also I get to gloat, because I know it’s at least 10 degrees hotter (or colder in winter) where you are.

cadoodlebug, suits me today, except that instead of scrolling my phone, I'm off to take a nap! scrapmaven, DD pulled out all of her boxes of back-to-college stuff and plopped them all in my living room. So, I completely feel your pain. I know I'll miss her when she's gone, but happy the stuff is going with her. We went to church this morning and then DD and I ran some back-to-school errands for last minute clothes, a laundry hamper, etc. Our neighbors invited us out to dinner last night, so DD's planning to cook the shrimp and baked potatoes tonight instead. Have a great Sunday, friends!

Legacy Girl , we'll miss our kids, when they move out, but not their stuff. I have the big stuff that is dd#1's ... a piano, a kitchen table and a leather loveseat! So I have to take all of this stuff to my new condo because ex has no room for any of it My place will not be decorated the way I want it for more than a year ... Emma has one more year of university ... kids!

leannec , will one room of your condo be dedicated to dd's furniture? Well, the piano will go in the second bedroom but I will use the table and loveseat ... it just means that I can't buy those pieces for myself right now ... which is probably a good thing ... it will save me money! I am buying some nice chairs to go with the table ... I found some already so hopefully they will still be in stock at the time I'm ready to buy ... they match that table and will match another table when I need it ... The loveseat is not my fav ... we've had it for 20 years but it's leather and in really good condition ... not ideal but it does match my rustic decor ...

Since I have yet to be through the home buying/selling process, do they have to get back to you within a 24 hour period leannec? Kids had swim lessons. Ds got into 12 ft pool and swam a lap (regulation pool so it's a solid lap). This is the first year he has been in that pool. He sat at the edge and gaged the depth. Then scooted in, held onto the wall for a but trying to touch the bottom. Then let go, treaded the water and instructor gave him a pool noodle just as protection. Then he swam his lap! Made me feel a lot better to know he has the skills to safely get to the edge or thread or float if he was to get into a deep pool. Kid continues to amaze us. And he is worn out lol Then we ran errands and had lunch. Now everyone is doing stuff on their own. Dinner is garden salads. Supposed to be 14° today (currently 102°). So that sounds good to dh, dd, and I.

I was out for an early walk, but not earlier than the long board surfers getting set up for their competition today. It's been going on all weekend and brings out a lot of older surfer dudes and makes for some fun people watching. jeremysgirl, you are cooking the way I do most of the time. DH is pretty game to try anything and grew up fasting for Lent, the Assumption and Advent so is used to eating plant based meals. For the Greek Orthodox fasting means no animal products but boy, do they like to feast on all the meats outside of fast periods. Health issues have me on an anti-inflammatory diet these days, so fish and seafood are okay with lots of vegetables. Dinner is almost ready here as most of a Salad Nicoise is prepped early and assembled when we want to eat. I only have to sear the tuna and add it to the cooked potatoes, green beans, boiled eggs, anchovies, tomatoes and olives.

Not sure what’s for dinner. I helped a friend today at a charity event she put on for Alzheimer’s Association. She had a Tea with about 70 tickets sold. We raised probably $3000 there today. But I had a couple of their small cucumber sandwiches and there was another sandwich that the ingredients baffled me. A local restaurant donated chicken salad that had coconut at it. Seriously? Coconut seriously?
I didn’t touch it but the desserts were good so I’m kind of not hungry.

Oldest son just bought a camper yesterday. They sent a text this morning saying that they were "practice camping" in the backyard and cooking breakfast over the fire. We jumped in the truck and headed over for eggs and bacon. Ended up bringing the middle grandboy home for some quality time without his brothers then the rest came over for a barbeque. They've just left and it's incredibly quiet here now. I'm chilling on the deck with a cold Pepsi.
Supper was grilled burgers, hotdogs, beans and chips.
