Thank you for your support.
This student is lovely 99.9% of the time. I really do love the student and want nothing more than for this to work for everyone. The child is so smart and wonderful in a thousand ways.
I just can’t help but wonder what had happened to make their little mind have such big feelings.
I have a group of coworkers who make life amazing. Friday we went to happy hour at 4:30 and stayed until 10:00 🥰🤣

A group of colleagues started a new initiative this year to do happy hours once a month, themed and with some prizes. We had over 20 people come out Friday! I think we are all missing some of that social interaction we had pre-pandemic. It was lovely. I’m so glad you have good coworkers that support each other and are down to hang! I hope the year gets easier as it goes. Big hugs. 💗

Made it through the first week with students after a week of inservice meetings. I was joking with my husband that we say that we start with four day weeks to get the kids adjusted, but really it's for the teachers. Getting back into the routine and all of the extra stuff that needs to be done, often at night, the first few weeks is challenging. Been doing assessments all week and will continue to do assessments on the entire building for the next 2 weeks. Kiddos scores are even lower than anticipated. Am so glad I was gifted a few decodable readers from my wishlist because they are going to be heavily used to get some of these kids closer to grade level. Hopefully some of them just need to get into the routine of reading again and make up some of their losses quickly. Others are going to require a lot of assistance to get them closer to where they need to be.

Our students return tomorrow.
After sitting down with my teachers, we have at least 9 kids who have eloped before in my elementary building.
I’m 8 months pregnant and made it known i aint running anywhere.
I split a large middle school with another school psychologist where we have over 200 special education students…and I still don’t have a key for that office.
And I don’t even have a room at the preschool I service.
Maternity leave can’t come soon enough.
And our district is still requiring masks-cue fights galore over that 😩

We are starting week 3 with students. So far my students are great. Couple of immature 6th graders. They always start rough. My 7th graders are great. Our 8th grade class has some doozies this year, but I don't have any of them, yet. After the first 3 days of school, our WiFi is working. My Photoshop issues have been resolved. Still waiting on my new projector. Right now my system of projection is a pain in the butt.
I will be sponsoring our new eSports Club this year. I have kids chomping at the bit to get going with this. Our equipment has been ordered. It will all need to be set up. We are having a meeting among the sponsors and district staff this week so we can get organized. I think it will be fun once it gets going.
We had Open House last Thursday.
I am having a great start to the school year.
