Becki do you like reading actual books or on an e-reader? I always have one actual book going and one audio book going. I like to listen to audio books while I crochet so I have an audible subscription too. A couple of years ago I enjoyed, believe it or not, the name escapes me but the autobiography by Jessica Simpson ... it was good! I have heard good things about this. I just can't seem to get myself beyond how incredibly dense she seems. I know that is horribly judgmental. She just seems so two-dimensional. Maybe I will have to prove to myself that she isn't and challenge my perception. Thank you so much for all these recommendations. I looked up every book this morning and added a bunch to my Goodreads list. They should keep me busy. If you have amazon prime you can access this quick read by Jessica Simpson for free. I thought it was a good example of how well she actually writes. I was impressed by her style and plan to read her book soon. Maybe you can check it out. I listened to the audible version. www.amazon.com/Take-Lead-Essay-Jessica-Simpson-ebook/dp/B08ZWXW3YK/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=jessica+simpson&qid=1667871502&s=digital-text&sr=1-6P.S. I hope you find peace and healing while you're wintering. I know you don't know me, but I've found many of your posts to be very inspiring. I've recently suffered the death of an immediate family member and have been struggling. I feel like you would somewhat understand what I'm going through right now. I also wanted to thank you recommending the book Wintering. It's going on my TBR list.

Not sure if you are a big baseball fan, but this is one of my favorite books. Anyone who is a baseball fan will enjoy this—especially if you watch any baseball games live. It sounds so boring but it’s such a good book. Baseball fans, please give it a chance. www.amazon.com/As-They-See-Em-Travels/dp/0743294130

Walking With the Wind, by the late Representative John Lewis. It's a memoir with a lot of personal accounting of the civil rights movement. It's wonderful. jeremysgirl I will miss you, but think of you as you take this time for yourself.

anne lamott is a great author.. her books aren't too long. if you can relate to her christian faith. --liberal presbyterian I don’t relate to her beliefs, though respect them. Her book, “Bird by Bird” is an easy read that has a positive impact when I get stuck in procrastination and feel overwhelmed. She’s funny, too. (She calls her thighs the aunties, though maybe that was an essay and in another book.) “Bird by Bird” was written for writers, but I’m not one.
