For various reasons, my teenage son with ODD and ADHD is being homeschooled this year (online school with me supervising). He's been pretty OK lately, in fact was great yesterday and taking pride in his work, etc. Today it's a polar opposite. Just makes me want to run away and cry, it's so exasperating. He's capable of so much, why is it so often this fight? (I get the actual "why," just having a woe is me moment.)

Hugs!! Is there enough flexibility that he can just walk away for the day or part of the day?
My vent(s). The crappy people that we were in contract with to buy our house backed out and are trying to get out of having to pay what we are legally owed. And we can't put the house back on the market till it is resolved. They owe us $$,$$$ and it was money we were counting on to pay for things. And they replaced the kitchen fridge and the washer and dryer without telling us -- which made me really mad because I loved the washer and dryer and had purchased new ones for this house 3 days before because the ones here broke.
My dh is out of town this week. We leave to go overseas for 2 weeks on Sunday and he gets home at 1am Saturday morning. So I am getting to figure out everything and pack for myself + 4 kids.
It snowed this morning. I am not adjusting to living somewhere with snow for the first time in my life. Dh drove the car that handles better in the snow to the airport because the snow wasn't in the forecast. Thankfully I got the kids to school safely, but it was stressful. Now they are forecasting multiple inches for Thursday too.

I feel your pain. One of my kids has ADHD/ODD and was so challenging. I counted down the days until the graduated. It was exhausting.
My vent-I have been to hell and back for the past 5 weeks trying to retain an attorney. I never would have expected such unprofessionalism. Iām tired of trying to deal with this to move forward.

My vent - we have multiple things broken on our house and my husband is incapable of fixing them or dealing with it (calling someone to fix it) Which means I have to - and Iām sick of it.
He has an annoying habit of just ācovering upā things when they break instead of fixing them. For example - a leaky sink? Oh just turn off the water to the sink instead of fixing it or calling a plumber. Super annoying!

Are you kidding? They replaced things to your property --- without buying the home -- and now want to back out? Holy crap. Yes. They replaced the kitchen fridge (it was only 4 years old and worked great), put the kitchen fridge in the garage and got rid of the fridge we had in the kitchen. They "replaced" the washer and dryer (also only 3 years old), I am sure the new ones are fancy and whatnot, but I loved the set and they didn't even completely install the new one. We had a contract and they were supposed to lease it till escrow closed. We don't think they ever actually moved in, just did the appliances and then got cold feet. They alerted us 36 hours before rent was due that they had moved out and were cancelling the contract. So now I am dealing with finding and retaining a lawyer. It's ridiculous. They are trying to claim we are in breach of contract for failing to disclose airplane noise and lack of sunlight. Thankfully the airplane noise was in the disclosures - but is crazy because I am super sensitive to noise and it was never an issue for me. And the whole reason they wanted the house was because it is in the middle of a forest.

mine is a minor vent. i double booked a bunch of appointments by accident. that's on me. i scheduled stuff so far ahead that i didn't realize some of them collided. some were day trips, some were medical appts, one was a hair appt that i couldn't rebook before xmas because she's just that busy. so i had to make a hair appt with my old stylist who i like but that involves a drive and it's on a busy december saturday.
first world problems and i'm more annoyed at myself for not checking my calendar first.

Wonder if you could shock him into action by asking if he wants a wife and partner or a mother to handle things as one does for an incompetent child? Perhaps that would make him realize the role he is forcing you to play.

My vent is that my job has me helping with all these "corporate speed dating" meetings all week. I'm pretty much just taking notes for the salespeople, which is fine. Only then they invariably ask me to do all kinds of things like set up direct meetings between them and the vendor (I don't have access to do that for them). I've explained about 10 times already today that I do not have that ability. I could rant more about that and their abilities in general, but I'll be nice.

What a mess, and I'm sorry you have to go through the aggravation.

Mine is how it's cold, gloomy, and rainy... But even more than that my main vent is that people lose their minds and totally forget how to drive in the rain! And it's not even a downpour type of rain, just that "set in" kind.

I'm sorry, that must be so frustrating for you. My friend's son is home schooled primarily due to physical health conditions. My friends has tried working with him and even hired a tutor but he just either isn't interest most of the time or he gets frustrated trying to learn and doesn't apply himself. I can only imagine how challenging this must be.

My vent is minor in the grand scheme of things.
Do not walk side by side by side by side.....anywhere! >> in the store, at the mall, at the fairgrounds, on the walking path, at the outdoor festival, etc... . Three to four people side by side by side, etc.... prevents anyone else from getting past you. No more than two side by side, sometimes even that is hard to squeeze by--get around.
If someone says "excuse me" so they can pass by, don't ignore them and don't only move over two inches.

Because this is how my luck is going these days.
At 1:45 this afternoon Amazon delivered a package with 3 pairs of capris for me and 4 pairs of shorts for my husband. And charging adaptors for the trip we are leaving for on Sunday.
At 2:40 UPS showed up to pick up a package for return. They did not ring the doorbell (I wasn't home). They took my package with my things that were just delivered and put the return label on my box and took it. I tried calling UPS and got someone who was very polite and horrified at the situation. Now I get to wait for someone to call me back to figure out if I have to try and reorder everything tonight and hope it comes before we leave.

Now they are forecasting multiple inches for Thursday too. Oh my god! How stressful! If you lived in Virginia, they would have cancelled school three days ago - just the threat of snow. I hope that the horrible people get their due. I hope you had an escrow at least. And that you get to keep the new appliances. Ugh. (I get the actual "why," just having a woe is me moment.) I'm sorry. I know that is hard. Do you have choices when he is frustrated? Can you ask him if he wants to take a few hours? Can YOU take a few hours? Can you tell him it's time for an ice cream break or play an online game with him? It's a tough road for both of you. Hugs! Teacher vent - Someone comes in to observe a lesson. They ALWAYS give a grow and a glow. Just ONCE I wish we could get a āGreat Lessonā with out the Hereās how it could be even better comments. But thatās how our world works. I 100% agree with you. I have been working for a long, long time and this past review my manager said everything was perfect. That was the first time EVER. Even when I created a website for the entire (big) company, got monetary awards, etc., someone always had to find a negative. All that served was to piss me off. I now love my manager SO SO much and would do anything for him. Everyone deserves to get a pat on the back without something negative or "helpful" in addition. I'm sorry. And that Bobomommy, is a GREAT lesson you gave us. Thank you! My vent? I am a dodo. Instead of booking a flight for 6 days, I booked it for one month and 6 days. The SAS website was not user-friendly and I had to use two different calendars to book each way. Of course Feb and Mar have the same days, so I didn't notice what I did. And the email SAS sent me didn't have the date - just the flight times, which I double checked. Sigh. It's still on me, but even though their site says change fees are $85, they want to charge me $300 and the actual flight is cheaper than when I bought it 4 days ago. I'm just sad I made that mistake.

I figured it was inevitable that he'd share illnesses with me this winter. I think we are both improving. He's going back to school today. I just received a notice from the school that over 5% of students are out with an "influenza-like" illness. His hockey team was down by 1/3 last night.

Replacing the bathroom faucet with the frozen handle is next. If Iām going to have to take care of it, I want it easy.

The one time I want a certain ornament, it's no where to be found! Most big box stores used to have a display of those little ornaments with names on them. All the usual places I've seen them in the last don't have them out. Wtf?

I bought $135 worth of postage online from the USPS.com website. I've used them before without issue, as my local Denver area branch is always out (yes, out) of the postage I need, especially at the holidays. I wanted to get the postage before the new rate increases and for my holiday mailing.
My package was scanned as delivered to my mailbox (I live in a condo complex) at 11:21 a.m. this past Saturday. I went to grab it - it is not there. I figured misdelivery, so I posted on our complex site asking if anyone received it in error. No, but a neighbor right across from me posted a copy of her delivery scan for the same day, at 11:20 a.m., and she did not get her package either. Both of us headed off to contact USPS and find out what was going on.
In dozens of communications over phone calls and emails with the USPS, I was brushed off, had my claims closed, sent back and forth to different offices multiple times, and when they last sent me an email saying they couldn't help me and closed my claim, I lost it completely and told them to expect a Congressional Inquiry (CI's are a pain, but I've launched one before against the USPS to get resolution). Further, at one point, I was told my address had been changed on my package to go to someone else. Guess who? To my neighbor's address who is also missing a package! The address change was unauthorized, and done by USPS in their system before delivery, not by my neighbor. She and I both get a lot of packages. My unit number is 87, hers is 78, and we face each other. We've both caught dyslexic deliveries in the past. But now, we're both screwed.
Additionally, when I tried to file a claim for replacement of my package, I was again bounced around to various places telling me "we can't do that here, you have to go back to the sender of your package." Plus, they listed the contents of the package as "unknown," and said if I filed a claim I could only get a monetary value of $100, because that is all priority mail will insure. OK! I told them countless times that I ordered POSTAGE from their own USPS online store and they are the sender and ones who chose the delivery method!
I am so tired of this runaround!! It is ongoing. As of today, I finally got a call number for the stamp store of USPS (it is not easy to find), and they are sending me a form to fill out so they can replace my shipment outright. Because of the time difference (MT vs CT) and they close at 2:30 my time, I have to do everything early in the morning. I am so hoping this can finally be resolved, and that I might get my postage before December 1.
USPS sucks.

I use Swagbucks to earn a little extra $ (most amazon gift cards). Now, everytime I try to use their search bar, it says I am searching too fast. I entered a help ticket in JULY and it is still messed up. I have cleared my cache. I have tried another browser. They have closed the issue bc they don't know how to fix it, and it annoys the shit out of me!

I would involve my realtor/broke and their's before hiring my own lawyer if it hasn't closed escrow yet. Did your buyers see the house in person? If yes, there is no way they can claim a lack of sunlight breach. I don't think they can anyway, but definitely not if they were physically there. We weren't in quite the same situation as our sale had gone through when the buyer threatened to sue us for breach of contract to cover the expenses of expanding the garage we'd advertised as two car. Well, it was before they moved the laundry from the house to the garage. Thankfully our realtor shut it down. RosieKat, I'm sorry you are dealing with the ups and downs of homeschooling. Sometimes you do need to run away and cry.
