Today is typically my family’s Christmas, but due to the storm we have had to postpone until Monday. There seems to be a lot of storm and illness issues. Just curious who has had to pivot and change course this last week. No matter how you end up celebrating I hope everyone has a happy holiday and good weekend.
ETA - sorry for the errors in the poll question and I can’t edit.
p.s. you know you are doing bad when you have to edit your edit. 😄

Nope ... we're lucky here in Calgary with my family ... we all live here and the weather is cold but clear and should be relatively "warm" by tonight and tomorrow.

At this point no bc we don’t have anything firm until tomorrow afternoon. Ds’s girlfriend was going to come over today for presents and lunch (nothing official) but yds started getting sick yesterday (stomach bug) and they’re going on vacation w/ her family starting Monday so I didn’t want to risk them catching something. We’ll get together when they get back. For now ods is just keeping his distance from yds and we’ll hope for the best.

No, everyone I see for the holidays are healthy and local. It’s only 7 degrees out right now but we didn’t get any snow so roads are good.

no changes here - we're celebrating at home just the 3 of us this weekend and then the older two come home Tuesday and we'll celebrate with them on Wed

Hopefully not. We are going to my parents' tomorrow about 1.5 hours away but that highway can be awful. So we will keep our plans and check the road reports tomorrow morning.

Plans changed yesterday. 3 sick kids between my sister and me so we are all doing Christmas at our own houses and will FaceTime Christmas day to open gifts from each others families since we've already swapped them around. We'll postpone getting together until 12/29 when we can also celebrate her oldest's birthday.

No changes here…Seattle are. Dd has already been home for a week. Ds and his girlfriend come over this afternoon. They live about 30 minutes from us.
It would have sucked if we needed to fly out of SEA TAC yesterday though.

We were supposed to be in Iowa right now but all of the roads between here and there are closed. I am not sure when we will go. Maybe later today, maybe tomorrow. Maybe not until next weekend.

We've had a cold snap with a few inches snow and - 23 temps, but today is supposed to be 45 degrees and tomorrow 52 degrees. So far, so good with sickness.

With one relatives family it’s changed because their daughter tested positive for Covid, with my immediate family it may or may not change depending upon whether the travel ban is lifted

Technically no they haven’t changed, other than my parents are not coming to my house tonight because my dad has Covid.

I said other because we had already changed them due to illness and are supposed to get together Wednesday but the weather looks nasty snd a couple are coming down a mountain so kind of waiting to see. Not sure if they will get snow or just rain and if they want to drive that far in the rain snd they drive my MIL so there is a good chance it’s getting bumped again.

No, because we didn't have anything planned anyway... I mean, not going anywhere and no one from out of town coming here. Dd is here from 3 hours away, but she arrived last weekend because she was supposed to go into her office this week. However, that meeting was canceled. So we've had her here all week. No one else was supposed to come, and we weren't going anywhere. It's just me, dh, dd, and my sister who lives just over in DC. Dh will pick her up tomorrow mid-morning and take her back after dinner.

Yep, DS#2 and his girlfriend were supposed to fly in today. They have been sick and with flights so crazy right now, they cancelled yesterday. We haven’t been together for Christmas since 2019, so we are disappointed but happy they are home safe and comfortable.
Next year, maybe.

Since my plans consist of me staying home by myself, there is isn't much that could disrupt that other than maybe a tornado or flood. And downed cell phone towers. My plans are to talk to my boy on the phone and stay inside. Pretty bulletproof this year.

I am so sorry for everyone who has had plans derailed (for any reason) and the fluff was that it was not an important poll…just passing time and the thoughts whizzing through my brain and nothing to do with the subject. Hugs to all having to embrace a change in plans.

Yup. One parent was positive for Covid and today the other parent tested positive.
We were supposed to be at their home for a big gathering. A little part of me is kind of relieved because now I dont have to worry about dd being around all those people. And I am struggling with that... being sad yet relieved. Its like I should be sad. Ugh.

Technically our plans have not changed since Monday, so I said "no".
We did have a hiccup with DD's original direct flight canceled on Tuesday and her being rerouted with a connection/overnight in a different city and flying into a different airport Wednesday. It impacted a couple of her plans with friends, but not the family plans.

Due to the ice storm in Seattle and Portland, we had to push a day from our normal Christmas Eve get-together with the in-laws to a Christmas Day get-together.

We should be getting ready to head to NE early in the morning but I'm sick (fever last night, achy & phlegmy today) so we're staying home. I wasn't excited to drive on the roads anyway after the snow, wind, and cold this week. We still went ahead & did our family Christmas today so we'll just hang out and do nothing tomorrow.

Yes. Dgd woke up yesterday with ear pain and has a double ear infection. Her mom and I have developed colds and DS is on his way with a sniffly nose. My sister doesn’t need sick people in her house!!

The only thing that changed is that my brother in law and nephews had their flight delayed…then cancelled out of Orange County so they had to drive up instead.
My oldest is driving to Tahoe tomorrow and I’m a little worried about the storm. I’m renting a house in pismo beach and a little bummed it is supposed to rain.

And plans for today changed again today. MIL was going to come over. She’s now sick.
My DS (6) still has a fever.
My sister, her DH, their boys (5 and 8) all have some crud, likely flu.
We got the family a switch so they’re happily playing games together (sports, Atari 50th, Super Mario bros U deluxe! Smash bros, plants VS zombies, mario kart- thank you multiple family members) Once we figured it out… similar to 90 year olds trying to figure out technology I imagine.🤣

nope, staying here and having dinner with the kids. dd's bf flying in from denmark this afternoon and now we have her friend from uni coming for dinner too - her mom works at a seniors building, dad is travelling for business and sis isn't here til next week - aaaanndd her family doesn't celebrate christmas anyway.
i am just short one chair, that is in a box and someone has to put it together like RIGHT NOW cuz dinner is imminent!
