Happy New Year's Eve Dinner Tribe! Are you going to celebrate tonight or do what I'm planning and just hang out at home and do little to nothing? Here is what I posted on Facebook today: Honestly, I could get together with my girlfriend but I don't feel like driving I may change my mind later! Dd#1, Emma, is here and still in bed ... we are going out for breakfast later but I ate some "egg bites" awhile ago because who knows when she will wake up? I'm up and down all night long ... insomnia is a PITA! After she leaves I will maybe do some filing of all of my condo related paperwork ... I also need to find my passport because I need to change my address on it ... so many small things to do when you move ... I have absolutely no idea what dinner will be tonight ... haven't even thought about it! What are your plans today? What will your NYE menu consist of? See you next year!!!

We are doing a Costco run and then will be home the rest if the day.
I will be crafting and them watching my Michigan Wolverines play in the college football playoffs against TCU. GO BLUE!
Dinner will be pasta (regular and chickpea) with meatballs and garden salad.
Have a good day everyone and if going out be safe.

No real plans for today. Except cleaning the bathroom (UGHHHHHH). Plus side, Twilight Zone is on all day. I also need to go out and pick up some crab cakes. Dinner will be those and steak, and we'll pick at the shrimp cocktail ring throughout the day. DH also made 2 quiches earlier. I may work on my ticket scrapbook. I've been working on making scoring summaries on my Cricut. I may need the power of Peas' ideas, though, for one page. Because one game was a last minute decision to go to, I don't have a ticket stub or any pictures to add. I just have the scoring summary I made.

I think we’re having meatloaf tonight. Ds took out ground beef to make burgers yesterday then they ended up ordering in Chinese.
Dd and her bf are going out tonight so I’ll be home with Ally. I had no plans. I have a bottle of good Moscato that I will probably open while I think about Dick and our anniversary.

Or in PS do one half the visiting team and the other half home team (let me show you an example in a minute of what I made in PS for DD 2021). You could also take away some of the color in PS to lighten it and add the score card to that. Use the photo as the paper or background. Here is what I made: http://instagram.com/p/CXz-7dmLMGR

Hi Everyone, leannec Insomnia is brutal. I am sorry that you didn’t sleep well last night. Enjoy breakfast with your beautiful daughter. rymeswithpurple Your dinner sounds delicious. KelleeM Hugs to you. I know it’s hard for you, because you miss Dick so much. Today, I am relaxing and finishing up with organizing my craft room. I may also vacuum the first floor. Dinner tonight is going to be a scallop dish that DH makes a little different every year.it will consist of water chestnuts, baby corn, scallions, rice noodles and mushrooms. I don’t know what else he will put in it. It’s always delicious. I hope all of you have a peaceful day and a wonderful New Year’s Eve!

Yes, pantsonfire GO BLUE! I want a B1G matchup in the championship game. KelleeM I read your post on the other thread. I can’t imagine how hard today must be for you. Hugs💕 karenlou I’ve been thinking of a dry January as well. Let me know if you decide to do it.

Are you going to celebrate tonight or do what I'm planning and just hang out at home and do little to nothing? Jeremy and I will just hang out at home. He's an 8:00 bedtime and I'm a 9:00 bedtime so who knows if we will make it to midnight. My bet is no. What will your NYE menu consist of? Usually we do snacks on NYE. But Jeremy hasn't picked any up. So I have chicken or lasagna. Here is to a new year that won't knock us down! Please be kind 2023. Please. Amen. I also need to go out and pick up some crab cakes. Dinner will be those and steak, and we'll pick at the shrimp cocktail ring throughout the day. DH also made 2 quiches earlier. You lucky duck! This sounds like a feast! Way to celebrate the new year! I have a bottle of good Moscato that I will probably open while I think about Dick and our anniversary. Big hugs to you. Big hugs. Tight squeezes. Dinner tonight is going to be a scallop dish that DH makes a little different every year.it will consist of water chestnuts, baby corn, scallions, rice noodles and mushrooms. I don’t know what else he will put in it. It’s always delicious. This sounds interesting. I'd love if you would post a pic and give a hint at the sauce. No Celebratory drinks for me...In fact seriously considering a dry January...we'll see how long I can manage, I do enjoy my chardonnay with dinner.... Now that I posted that you all can keep me accountable!!! I have a glass of wine about 3-4 times a week with my dinner. Jeremy bought me a wine advent calendar and I still have one mini bottle left. I feel like I spent the whole month sloshy. I finished my December Daily album this morning. It felt really good. It felt like such a healing way to process grief at the holiday. I'm looking forward to a reset in 2023. Happy New Year, friends!

Thinking of you today KelleeM . The rain is still brutal but we don't go out on NYE anymore anyway. Today DH, DS and I will watch college bowl games, play some Rummikub and watch some TV tonight. I'm doing a Tri-Tip roast for dinner with some zucchini and a fruit salad. Happy New Year's Eve dear tribemates!

KelleeM (hugs!) jeremysgirl Thanks! We usually have steak on Saturdays as an end of week treat, so we decided to add a few things to tonight's. (We're cheap and like chuck steak. I can usually get a few for ~$11 a the store, and it's just us, so one pound is plenty.)

KelleeM, I, too read your thread and you're in my thoughts. I hope that you'll find comfort w/Ally. ((((HUGS))). We're gonna have a big NYE, as always. In otherwards, I'll be in bed by 10pm. Yds might be over at a friend's house playing games, but he said he'll likely be at home. If that's the case then we'll order pizza and watch Glass Onion, the sequel to Knives Out on Netflix. A very dear friend and her dd are coming for a short visit this am and the rest of the day I'll be resting. Was that redundant? I don't make resolutions, cause it's too much pressure, but I am going to try to add some fun into the mix. Happy NYE, my lovelies. Be safe, enjoy your day and night and know that one of the best parts of 2023 will be spending it w/you every am as we discuss life and dinner.

Good morning Dinner Tribe. Tonight’s feature will be steamed lobster, bread and salad. Later on I am going to BFF’s house for a get together. That should be fun. I hope everyone has a great New Years Eve and we say hello to Year of the Rabbit!

DH and I are going to friends for supper. I’m not sure what’s on the menu. We will probably be home before midnight. I’ll be the designated driver so only Pepsi for me tonight.
Tomorrow is grandson #1’s 11th birthday. I cannot believe he is turning 11. He was a surprise baby when my son was just 19 and his girlfriend (now wife) was 20. We helped them as much as we could but they handled everything like rockstars. They have now been married for 6 years, have 3 wonderful boys, she is a nurse and my son works for the railroad, they own their home. I’m so proud of them.
Happy New Year everyone!

Going out to a friend's home where many will gather. No big meals for me for awhile. I really ate too much good food on my cruise. I was looking for the room-service menu to hang out of my door last night but realized that I was now home and there isn't any room-service anymore. Anyway, I left before the big snowstorm and came home to rain and no snow. No airline/airport issues on either way. A great way to end this year. Happy New Year to the peas!

Hey all - husband's making pizza tonight - I warned him that now the kids will always want homemade pizza for NYE! We're going out of town for a few days, so doing laundry and getting organized. I'm happy to say goodbye to 2022 and am hoping 2023 will be a fabulous year - we're way overdue!

dh was making noise about getting take out tonight.. I wouldn't mind. it is raining really hard and we are getting notices of flipped cars, trees down and landslides. the dog was not too happy going out to poop.
it is supposed to stop this evening. I made a run to whole foods --and there is a little water in the basement (our basement is never dry, so I am not surprised). dh and I are in discussions about redo our house.. like new foundation, whole new basement, new systems like the furnace, redo kitchen, redo exterior stairs, and refinish floors. this will be a long project.. and we have enough equity to make it worth it.
I may do just me projects today. we almost never go out on new years, I don't even know if I will stay awake that long. maybe though..

Happy New Year from 2023! Yesterday was a fun day. We went out to one of Canberra’s best museums just before lunch and came home around 4. Dinner was a seafood starter - prawns, lobster tail and Moreton bay bugs - followed by a whole grilled fish. We had champagne with that. Then we headed down to the lake for the early fireworks - like many cities here, Canberra does two fireworks displays, one at 9 and one at midnight. In a very sensible move, the city had also made all public transport free after 5pm, so we didn’t need to drive. After fireworks, we came home and had Stollen for dessert, with a nice dessert wine. Didn’t make it to midnight - I think we headed to bed around 11.

No Celebratory drinks for me...In fact seriously considering a dry January...we'll see how long I can manage, I do enjoy my chardonnay with dinner.... Now that I posted that you all can keep me accountable!!! I'm definitely going dry for January. It sucks being a grown-up sometimes, but the older I get the more alcohol seems to be a trigger for health issues for me. Up until 3 am last night. Hmm, we were tag teaming last night as I slept until 3 and then was wide awake for a few hours. We ended up out with friends last night so I want sushi tonight, although both steak and pizza are being suggested. DH is the one going shopping so I told him whatever he wants is good with me but he can't just bring home steak with no plans for the sides. We are having an early evening and will wait until morning to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to everyone!
I started my day by finishing a book (cheesy christmas romance, I'd only rate it 2 stars) before heading to the grocery store. Decided to treat myself to a venti chai latte from the starbucks drive thru. Wasn't even a full block away when I tried to pick it up by the cup, the lid popped off, and hot chai latte was all over my pants, my coat, my seat, my floor mats, my cupholders, and my phone! Pulled over to clean it up using the last of the napkins in my car and then decided since I was so close to go back to Starbucks to complain. They redid my drink, I grabbed a whole ton of napkins to try to clean my car, then came home to change & do a better cleaning job. My steering wheel is still a bit sticky! Thankfully my phone survived the ordeal!
Tonight we're going out to a local roadhouse restaurant for dinner before heading over to visit a friend who is in town for new years. Without his wife, which is kinda weird but not completely. She's at her parents, where she spends a lot of time. I think there's more going on there than they speak about.

I forgot to mention earlier. Please keep my sister in your thoughts. She slipped yesterday and has broken her tibia, just below the knee. She will have surgery sometime today and then be laid up for a few weeks in hospital and rehab. She also has lymphoedema, and I don’t know how much these things will impact on each other - will the lymphoedema make healing more difficult, or will the break cause her more problems with swelling etc?
