Hi everyone! I have no real plans today other than actually doing some of the boring marking that I keep saying I am going to do. I had another terrible sleep last night so a nap is definitely in my future too This is what I posted on Facebook today ... simply because it is funny! I have my Hello Fresh delivery coming today so dinner will be something from that ... no idea what though! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

We are home! We landed in Munich just after midday, after 24.5 hours in transit. I got a reasonable amount of sleep on the first, long flight ( a bit over 14 hours) but none on the second flight ( just under 7 hours), and I am starting to feel like I need to go to bed. I am going to push on and try to stay awake until at least 8:30pm, to get back into my normal sleep pattern. We did a quick grocery shop at the airport supermarket - one of very few open on a Sunday - and bought some soup and bread rolls for tonight. It is now 5:30pm and I am not feeling at all hungry, so we’ll see how things go in the next hour or so.

We call them whores dervies at my house because we are classy that way! 🤣 Welcome home sueg I pulled out another WIP that I'm working on today. Jeremy is working on his second nap since he woke up at 8 am. 😂 And I put chili in the crockpot. When I last made corn muffins I froze a bunch so I took some out of my freezer to eat with the chili.

Hi! I miss two days and I feel like I've been gone forever Today is day seven of twelve straight work days. It's going to be a slow day so maybe I'll get caught up on what everyone has been up to. I talked DH into making chili for dinner. Have a great day!

No idea..my anxiety/grief has been a little out of control for a couple days. Tomorrow it will be 3 years since my dad died. I have had no appetite for 3 days. It's better today due to .25 of klonopin (twice yesterday). I need to remind myself it's ok to take it.

stormsts, are you getting enough rest and playtime? jeremysgirl is right. You seem to be working a lot lately.
christine58, it's really OK to take your Kloni when you need it. Grief hits at different times and in different ways. You have a tribe full of women who are here w/you. ((((HUGS))))

stormsts you've been working so much lately. Is this normally a busy time of year for you? Unfortunately, it is normal. I own a tax preparation firm. December thru April are super busy, as you can imagine. I am ready to retire. Been talking about it seriously the last year. Finally have my business partner on board so we shall see. I am ready to spend a lot more time with my grandkids and travel more.

scrapmaven I am not getting enough rest. I don't sleep well on a good day and this time of the year it is a real problem. Playtime is very little this time of the year. All I want to do is go home and go to bed!

We had a brutal night of wind. Our heavy wood Adirondack chairs were blown into the yard as well as two heavy metal chairs around our outside table. The worst is a section of our fence was blown down. I slept in DS's room for about 3 hours until the wind died down then got back in our bed. Dinner will be Chicken Noodle Soup. Hoping all our CA Peas are safe.

((((HUGS)))) Thanks it did help a lot. Even only half a .5 pill. I also think some of the anxiety is because of the football game that was played on Monday night when we literally watched a Bills player die on the field. Thank God he’s alive and doing so much better in this game today that’s on right now it’s so emotional.

I hope you do get to retire soon.

It's whores-de-ovaries in our house. 😁 We had big plans today (not really but we were going to get some more stuff done, go to the store, etc), but Nick woke up not feeling great so we are hanging low and watching football. I'm having groceries delivered. I was hoping to have the peppers I need delivered to make him soup, but that store wasn't delivering til tomorrow so I'm just having aldi/instacart bring lasagna stuff and OJ, and his munchie requests. I picked up a brand new (old, never used, still in plastic/box) pasta maker and I thought I might try it out. The directions were on a vhs tape! I couldn't find a manual online or a YouTube video so I may just wing it. I love gadgets. I've made pasta before and I have a pasta machine to roll it out, but this is electric and mixes/kneads/extruded in different shapes for you. I did get a box of lasagna noodles in my order in case this little endeavor is a bust! Chili and cornbread is running a close second if I don't get my act together soon. Two pups in my lap with a warm blanket aren't doing anything for my motivation. I still need to finish one of my class preps that meets on Wednesday. Winter break is too short!

tmarschall let us know how the pasta machine works out ntsf DC is a big move for your son & wife. You seem like you’ll travel there too. Heading to Cabelas when Luke gets up from his nap. DD was sick this whole week and her dh lost all his stocking caps. He can’t okay outside at daycare if he doesn’t have a hat on. We’re going there because they have all those taxidermy animals and a pond I think. I’ve literally been there 2x in my life. I made veggie stuffed shells for dinner. We’ll have salad too. Glad you decided to take the klonipin christine58

Took a trip to town this morning because DH had a couple gift cards and saw some stuff in the store flyer that he wanted. It was a quick trip - there and home in 1.5 hrs.
Question: I want to put together a home information binder. I do all the bill laying, banking/ investments, etc. This binder would be for DH or our kids in the case that something happens to us. It would have info in our utilities, account numbers, bank accounts, lawyer info, etc. Has anyone done this? Liking for a template or somewhere to start. It’s a bit overwhelming.
Supper tonight is grilled steak, potatoes and salad (and mushrooms for DH).

Supper tonight is grilled steak, potatoes and salad (and mushrooms for DH). We regularly talk about how much we need to do this, but it is overwhelming. I found a workbook on Amazon that I think will be helpful...now we just need to start filling it in. I keep thinking we should put it out on the counter and take a month to enter all the stuff we regularly use/access, and then start filling in things like property taxes and important documents. There are several on amazon...some nicer than others. Ours is something like "after I die, now what" or something, which is kind of yucky, but I guess it will do the job. Lots of stuff I hadn't thought of.

taylortroop, putting together a file is a great idea, but make sure you have a safe place to keep it, like a safe or even your safe deposit box. I know I sound like captain obvious. lucyg, I'm sorry that you're still sick. I hope that you'll feel better by tmw am. teddyw, is Luke a good shopper? I have one ds who has always been a great shopper. I could go anywhere when he was a baby and he would just be so content. Yds wasn't a shopping fan. To this day he only goes shopping when absolutely necessary and he's a grown up.

Hey all - I'm back from our jaunt to the mountains - it was fun to get away for a few days with the kids before they go back to school. Thanks for all who sent birthday wishes!! I logged in and was terrified I'd posted something crazy before I left from all the notifications lol but realized it was just the tribe sending me well wishes - thank you truly! Kids left today and I'm bummed as I'm not sure they'll be home for spring break so may be June before I see them! I'll probably throw together some tacos as I haven't had a chance to go to the store, but I always have taco fixins! Hope everyone has a fabulous 2023!

DH joined me for a beach walk this morning, enjoying the sunshine before another we get more rain next week.
I have a bunch of lemons that need to be used, so looking for ideas. DS picked 7 and one was used for the salmon pasta last night.
Dinner will be chili with a few extra vegetables thrown in (sweet potato and carrots don't usually go in my chili but will tonight).

Darcy Collins, I'm glad that you had a fun trip w/your family. I used to see notifications and would wonder what I did to put my foot in my mouth and then I remembered that I start a thread each am. LOL. Your birthday is a special day.
