I love that you did that RosieKat! I was reading something recently about what to do for someone who's recently had a loved one pass. Doing something for them that their loved one had always done in the household was mentioned!

Your thoughtfulness touched her. Keep checking in on her. The next few months will be overwhelming. Lots of things for her to handle and adjust to.

So sorry about the loss of your neighbor. What a nice thing to do to help out. Thanks for sharing that and it's a good reminder that even a little thing can mean the world to someone.
And thanks for reminding others to get a flu shot. Our family of 5 gets our flu shots every year. With 2 in college, it makes me feel so much better knowing they are protected.

That is very wonderful. Also a great reminder about the flu shot. We lost one of our Pea friends to the flu in 2020(before Covid was known to be a thing). She was the same age as me.

You are a kind soul. Sometimes we need to be reminded that just a small gesture can mean the world to someone else as we don't always know what they are going through.

RosieKat I can assure you, as a widow, those small gestures mean so much. I have neighbor guys on either side of me that bring my trash cans up to the garage door. I love it.

I love that story, RosieKat. I don't understand why anyone hesitates to do anything kind for someone else. Not a callout!! I just wonder why you'd hesitate. When my son passed, my next door neighbor sent her 12yo son over every single day to walk my dogs. It was the kindest and nicest thing. I was so so grateful. Everyone does everything for you for the first few weeks and then crickets. I can do stuff, of course, but my heart always feels warmed when someone goes out of their way to help me.

Today I am going to stuff backpacks for families with food insecurity. It’s a whole ton of fun but we need one more volunteer. That would be nice anyway. I love the job and everyone is there because they want to be there which is the most fun. Slight update: there were two girls who couldn’t go on the class field trip and came to help us. They did and it was way more fun! They both worked very hard. With time we are learning to do things better.
