I really don’t like any of those choices, nor do I think any of them are electable. Why? And who would you do you feel could be electable? The idea that none of the above could beat trump or DeSantis or any of the potential Republicans making noises they want to run for president should scare the hell out of all us. Seriously. I may not agree with everything this group proposes but the one huge difference between these guys and the gang of Republicans is they honestly want to make things better for ALL the American People and make this a better country. And as we are seeing on a daily basis that is not what the Republicans want. Not by a long shot.

I just read a study on “strategic racism” where people whose preferences align with women and/or racial minorities would vote for them but they make a calculation that others will not. The actual number of people who would vote for a minority is higher than people think (remember Clinton did get the most votes) but for many it’s too risky not to vote for white male.

It’s too early for me to know just yet. I really disliked like Pete as a candidate but he’s grown on me in his cabinet position. I hope he stays there.
The only thing I know for sure is I hate the way we do staggered primaries. And really almost everything about our primary system. I think a lot of good could come from reform there and it would be easier to reform than the general election.

None of the above? I really don’t think any of those choices have a strong chance in 2024. I picked Mayor Pete because he is my favorite, but in my opinion, the DNC should be researching who would have a better shot and helping them mount a campaign. For example, Jarod Pollis (Gov of Colorado) checks a lot of boxes: -Entrepreneur—has started/managed successful businesses, so the Republicans can’t accuse him of being anti-business -Progressive positions on education and healthcare while also managing to cut taxes on small businesses -Was able to get Colorado through COVID without a lot of drama as far as I can tell -Governs a purple state effectively, which means he has to know how to negotiate Colorado peas, please chime in on your perceptions. As an outsider, I think he looks pretty good, but I would like to hear a more local opinion. www.colorado.gov/governor/gov-polis

As an outsider, I think he looks pretty good, but I would like to hear a more local opinion. www.colorado.gov/governor/gov-polisIt would be wild if the country could actually get behind Polis - who describes himself as a libertarian Democrat - honestly he's the closest thing I've found to a political kinship. But a Jewish, gay, rich man - is there anyone who won't hate him? a few articles on him beating to his own drum for those not familiar with him - honestly I hope he stays in Colorado as a presidential race will just tear into him and his little family. I've actually had the pleasure of meeting him a few times. He has two darling children - who unfortunately are just at the age where a campaign would be so, so hard. It's why I think we get the politicians we deserve - a sane person doesn't want to run and subject themselves and their family to ugliness we've grown to expect of our political races. www.economist.com/united-states/2019/03/30/jared-polis-colorados-governor-is-an-unusual-breed-a-libertarian-democratunherd.com/thepost/jared-polis-the-weirdest-democrat-in-america/reason.com/2022/11/10/jared-polis-success-shows-that-democrats-can-win-without-embracing-big-government/

I WISH it could be Hillary, but I think her time has come and gone. I also think she is loving her "retirement" and enjoying grandbabies and personal life without the press following her around.
