Ok I know this isn't FB but is anyone elses box on the way? Mine was scheduled to be here Tuesday 9/5 but my shipping was updated and it will be here Friday. NO. I was hoping that or the PF/SM box would be sent soon, but NOPE. Haven't heard a thing. Its crazy how late the PF box being shipped. At the spring event lots of international ppl didn't get theirs in time for the event. You would think they would learn by now to send them out earlier.

Lots of hand slapping going on on FB with people showing pics of open boxes. One is a cute video of their cat in the box, and nothing is showing. Jeepers, people. Chill.

My box now says Saturday. But...UPS doesn't deliver on Saturday so I'm thinking it will be Tuesday.
TeamPeek - Did y'all Download and look at the box content list? And now I remember why I like this event! The companies are very generous. (it's on the protected SCT site that was linked in the 8/17 email)

The Facebook page for the event got drama filled two nights ago. All the posts have since been removed, thankfully. It started with a woman saying she bought some inks and then found out there would be inks included. Several people showed her where that was mentioned in the notices. There was only one of these post that I felt was borderline snarky. So the woman starts another posting about people being mean and she was bullied etc. and now she’s not even sure she wants to participate. Many people commented that they didn’t see any bullying. One lady took her side and said the “veterans” of past events were not being nice to the new people. Another well meaning and sincere woman suggested she go to her doctor for antidepressants because she herself feels so much better after doing so.
I have attended all of the card events and I’ve never seen the Facebook page get like this. Maybe it’s because they increased the number of attendees to 3400 this time. I wonder sometimes if some of these people even know what they signed up for. They don’t appear to read any of the information emailed and provided on the page. So the same questions are asked repeatedly, like when do I get my box, what date is the event etc.” There have always been the ones that over engineer everything and the ones that worry about every supply. But there is a meanness this year from some of these attendees that I have not seen before.
All this to say, I am staying away as much as possible from the FACEBOOK page. It used to be a nice group, but too many mean girls this year.

I saw the original post. Then I saw the second post. When I tried to find the original to read the "bullying" comments I couldn't find it and assumed it was deleted. I'm not sure how much more detailed information SCT can send. They've done a lot of these events and know what they are doing. I'm always that people don't read the emails, or think that they need to buy all the inks, all the Copics,or the exact embossing powder or whatever to have a good experience. My opinion -> This event is really not for beginning cardmakers. Maybe the first one was or even the second, but now you need a lot of tools, inks, and a basic knowledge of how to use the tools and inks. I wish I could only see the official posts from SCT and the instructors, and disregard all the porch photos and the I got my shipping notice posts. ETA: And to the people who post photos of their boxes with the address blacked out but not the tracking number...do they not realize that your address can be found from the tracking number? I always want to point that out in a comment, but I try to keep a low profile on social media.

Good points about not being for beginners. A lot of the freak outs seem to be from people who say they are new to cardmaking. Also, some do not seem to have basic online or Facebook experience. They don’t know how, or make no effort, to look for the information on the site (that has already been emailed to them as well). Instead they just make a big post,” when is my box coming?” And when others point them to the guide section and explain that’s where all the info is, they get bent out of shape. I just think the whole event is too advanced for some of them.

I also just think there is something strange happening in the US at least, some sort of epidemic of mean and angry. A stupid number of mob brawls broke out among groups of young people around here a couple weekends ago, all kinds of things like that. Maybe microdosing the water supply with antidepressants would help?

They look like stencils but I’m not 100% sure. I haven’t cheated to look at the box contents list. My box is out for delivery so I’m trying to wait for that before looking at the list.
ETA: I’m not a fan of the color combo so I’ll definitely be changing it up. I do like the layered cake and don’t have something like that in my stash. I’ll either do pastel rainbow or an ombré orange/peach combo for the layers.

So exciting pinklady that you got your box! Yay! I don't have my shipping notice yet, but I'm in Ontario, so I knew I'd be last. I did get my PF/TSM shipping notice, and that box will be here on Tuesday, so I'm looking forward to that. I saw the post this week about the lady being mad because she bought all of the C&9 inks. The comments were very nice, I thought, just respectfully pointing out that the supply list said they were included, or that maybe she could return them and exchange them for something else. I wish I had seen the second post, darn it. I wonder if she's been blocked from posting now. I totally agree that this event is not for beginners anymore. My SIL told me when she saw my cards from the Fall 2021 event that she would like to do the event, too, if they ever did another one. I'm a terrible person but I've never mentioned it again to her, because she would be just like those ladies on the FB group, except not bitchy. Just very, very needy. She would have to have every exact supply and would worry about it for weeks if she couldn't get it, and then also not be happy about having to spend the money. She would be completely overwhelmed and I'd have to hold her hand and talk her through everything and reassure her. She also is not computer savvy, and just like the ladies on FB, would have to have everything explained to her and shown to her because she wouldn't read the emails and figure it out herself. Just a lot of work. She started scrapbooking with Creative Memories in 2000 and it's still the only company she will use - so that's how scared she is of trying new things and "messing up". She did a few SU stamping events because her CM person joined with SU when CM went under for a while. She considered signing up with CM just to get the discount, at one point, but cried for days because she couldn't decide if she could commit or not. My brother and their kids had to reassure her and console her for quite a long time. Anyway, so now I don't mention Crop & Create to my extended family anymore, and I just blissfully enjoy my weekend and the lead-up to it Also, I have to apologize to Pink & Main. I posted a few weeks ago that I didn't do their projects because I found them garish, or something like that. Well, I decided what the hell, I'll do the ones from last Fall - and they turned out great! My husband loves them. They're perfect for the younger kids in my family. So, I take it back! And it is worthwhile to try the projects yourself, because you can't always tell from the book. I did slightly change the colours to make them more appealing to me, though. And I finally used my Doodlebug flock that I bought 15 years ago lol.

I need a moment to be depressed about this whole event. Feel free to ignore . . .
I’ve had serious back problems since mid July and they continue to get worse to the extent that I can barely walk and can only sit in one chair in my house. I’m in constant pain and the only pain med we’ve tried that works makes my blood pressure go through the roof. I contacted my spine surgeon in mid-July and his first available appointment was in October. My primary care person has been trying to get me in to another practice, but no one is taking new patients. (Yes, things are that bad in this rural area.)
Anyway, it appears I’ll be in no shape to do this event right now. I won’t even be able to open the box because of the reclined angle I have to sit at. Can’t get near my scrap table or my desk-top computer. Thank goodness for my iPad and my Kindle! They’re helping me maintain my sanity!
So, that’s my sad tale of woe. I’m so glad that these events are so easy to do at a later date, but I’m sad to miss it.

Thanks, MDscrapaholic. I appreciate the sympathy. I’m sorry I wasn’t clear, I am signed up, just not physically capable of any type of participation - for now at least. I’m reminding myself that making these cards at a later date will give me something to do over the cold winter!

lindamh, that sucks! At least you can watch the event, but it's not the same as being able to participate, I know. Hoping for a faster appointment and a speedy recovery! It's so depressing when health issues get in the way of living, though. Last Fall I had my entire weekend cleared for the event when my son's Thursday flight to school was cancelled and rescheduled for the Sunday, so my weekend was busy with him getting packed (always last minute, aargh) and then driving him 2 hours to the airport and 2 hours home. He was also really struggling mentally, so it was a very emotional weekend. So I missed almost the entire event. Then for this past April's event I had my weekend all prepared and nothing on my schedule when my mother called at the last minute and asked me to go to her house - an hour away - on Saturday morning for an emergency meeting about my brother. So I went to that and then on my drive home around noon my son's friend called and told me my son was in the hospital. He's okay, Thank God, but at the time we didn't know how he was doing and he was on the other side of the world from us. I had also worked Thursday and Friday so missed those days. So that event was a write-off and I still have to finish it. So I'm kind of worried about what will pop up for this coming event. I have my weekend cleared. My husband will take care of all cooking and cleaning. But I'm kind of afraid that the event is jinxed and it's going to trigger another disaster. I'm kind of hoping for the best but bracing for the worst lol.

I really really like the hero arts cards for this event. Also, Libby has already created bonus cards and included pictures of those in the book.
I’ve gone thru my box and separated everything into pouches by class. I have to say, Brutus Monroe is the only class that is a dud for me and honestly, I expect that every time because they are just not my style. Every other class has product that is totally useful. I’m kind of in shock about that.
One tip, when you go thru the drawstring bag, be careful. One of the jars of embossing powder was not closed tight enough so there was a hint of glittery embossing powder on everything in that bag. I’m kind of shocked those powders were not in a sealed ziplock bag.

The sneaks are coming faster! I guess they want them all to be out there since boxes are arriving. This is #10. This one is Altenew! I really like it. To me it looks like a stamp, a stencil and an embossing folder. Similar to what we received in the spring box. Waiting patiently here for delivery date. Anyone else beside pinklady and peasquared receive their box yet?
