Hi everyone! I will spend the morning doing little to nothing! Emma is coming over this afternoon following a dentist appointment ... we'll just hang out - maybe watch something on Netflix. Molly will be joining us when she gets off work and Grandma will come over too ... we'll order some sort of takeout for dinner! I loved the Selling Sunset related video you posted yesterday scrappintoee! My girlfriend and I just laugh at the fashion on that show! So professional for real estate! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... both of my dd's have my sick sense of humour ... when we are together it is bad! What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

We went for our walk and now are loading up my Highlander for a hazardous waste drive-through. I love that I don't have to get out of the car, just show my driver's license and they unload everything. I'm sure everyone has something like this in their community. It's at the fire station less than 2-miles from our house. The sky looks like they are having thunderstorms up at Tahoe. Wish we'd get some rain. Dinner will be Sloppy Joe's. Yikes! This isn't dirt/mud, it's bugs!

Just enjoying the beautiful day today - not too hot, not too cool.
Today is the wedding. Dinner at 6 which will mess up my fasting. Oh well, hope the meal is good. Thanks for the responses about the money gift. I was thinking $100 but wanted to hear what others had to say.

High everyone and Happy weekend. I ended up getting a fair amount of sedation yestereday, so I'm very hungover and relaxed. I sat on a gurney for 7 hours. The procedure fixed the problem that I've been having and once I wake up I'll feel normal, well my normal, again. Thank goodness that I'm at home and can just watch bad tv and nap on and off today. Yds is coming home tonight for a week. I have to recover, so that we can have some fun this week. Dinner will be takeout. They can figure it out. Ods has a wedding to go to tmw, so I think he's coming home tmw night. Enjoy today, my friends.

I don't have a sick sense of humor, mine is way more slapstick/goofy. And Chloe has like noooooo sense of humor. Seriously that kid takes everything seriously. Esther was all sarcasm.
I've just returned from a new to me yarn store and the farmers market. I was looking for a hydrangea for the back of my house because we did a wee bit of landscaping back there and someone had given me an azalea for Esther and it died over the winter. There's already two hydrangeas back there so we will pull out the dead plant and put in a new one. Going to tidy up my dining room and then wind up my yarn. I already have the pattern in mind. This is going to be a huge shawl and this is 100% wool yarn so it should be extra cozy.
Last night I ended up making fish tacos. That just sounded super good to me. So tonight I will make the pork chops and brussel sprouts. Maybe some quinoa too.
Have a great day everybody!

I was looking for a hydrangea for the back of my house Our Costco has some beautiful hydrangeas for sale. Our rental property has an entire hedge on the side of the walkway next to the house. They are beautiful, wish they were at the house we live in!

It would be near half hour to get there. But our farmers market on my side of town has beautiful plants. Big ones too. No problem finding what I was looking for.

Hi Everyone, leannec Have fun with your girls and your Mum tonight. Your meme is so true and funny. cadoodlebug We haven’t had to get rid of hazardous waste here yet. So I have no clue where we do it. Boy, that’s a ton of bugs. taylortroop I hope that you enjoy the wedding reception. scrapmaven I am glad that you are able to rest today. And I hope that you have extra fun with the boys! jeremysgirl Your dinner sounds great. I love hydrangeas. And I want to plant a lilac bush in my backyard. But everyone tells me to plant bushes in early fall. linda BLTs sound so good for dinner. Today is DH’s birthday and YDS is making dinner tonight. Hence, I don’t have a clue what it is or the level of spice. So who knows, I may have to make something else for me. Today, I am picking up the house, watering my garden tonight, doing laundry and making cards. I hope all of you have a peaceful day.

Hi everyone! We have rain. It is glorious and our animals and fires are being doused with water. The sound of rain on the skylight is momentous which makes us happy.
I am on my own for dinner tonight and may have a leftover fajita or something else. I could go to get something because that would be nice, too. Father suggested a burrito. I might make something healthier, though. It’s still early in the day.
I hope everyone has a great day today and that rain douses the fires to anyone else affected.❤️

My sister is coming over to watch something on TV late this afternoon. (It’s not that she can’t watch TV at home. She just likes to come over here and annoy me.) So I will make something we’ll both like with my pound of ground beef. Either chili rice or spaghetti & meat sauce. Feel better, scrapmaven. Enjoy those boys! (Well, grown men, now. Doesn’t that feel weird? My younger kid will turn 40 soon. Freaky.) taylortroop, $100 sounds perfect. Marina, I got out my cookbooks. The bread pudding recipe in my Fannie Farmer (which is maybe more recent than your mom’s edition) is totally different from the one I used from The Supper Book. But if you don’t want to use my particular version, any basic bread pudding recipe could be adapted. Use croissants in place of bread, and add the broken chocolate. Ta-daa!

We haven’t had to get rid of hazardous waste here yet. We always have stuff. This time it was about 9 cans of old paint, 2 florescent laundry room-type tubes, my sharps from testing my blood every morning, an old thermometer, 10 old smoke detectors from when we changed them all out, used LED light bulbs, etc.

Happy Birthday to your husband, destined2bmom. lucyg, I would make a mushroom burger w/cheddar, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and mayo. Then I'd make onion rings and cole slaw. When you only eat it in your imagination it doesn't have any calories and you can eat as much as you want.

Happy Saturday, everybody! I'm late to post today! We got up and picked up our truck from the shop. Nick then took it to the emissions test and ut passed, woohoo. We caught another break. I got his pants hemmed for the graduation tomorrow after fighting with my machine. It needs serviced and the tension problem makes the top look great and the bottom look like doo-doo. Of course I was sewing underside up, so the part no one will see looked fine. So I had to rip it all out and redo it. It should have been a 10 minute job. But nope! Nick is replacing a fender on my car now (can you believe we found ibe at the junkyard in the right color even?? A new stereo is supposed to arrive today and I'd love if he could get that swapped out too. Then I will need rear brakes and an ac recharge *it works fine but isn't immediately cold on start and I hate feeling my hair and makeup melt until it gets going. The vehicles are giving it to us this season! Next up, the boat. Thank you, lucyg for the Popeyes idea. We had that for dinner yesterday. I've been eating like a crazy person the last couple days and my sugar is high. I feel better today but I'm back on the wagon, hoping to get it back down today and tomorrow. I've been doing well, and I've lost about 15lbs in the last couple months. Nick's daughter got tickets for the graduation ceremony tomorrow so we are going, and while I guess his ex could decide not to attend, we will be in the same place tomorrow. I tried on a bunch of stuff last night and I think I've narrowed it down to 2 or 3 outfits. I have a feeling I will go with the one Nick likes. My clothes are kind of a big part of my confidence. For work, for uncertain or tense situations, suit up! I'm second guessing myself here. Blah! We are supposed to go do something fun after Nick gets done. Not sure what but it will likely involve a drive and dinner, maybe a music store or a bookstore. I love hydrangeas, jeremysgirl. Did you get pink or blue? I've seen green and burgundy ones too, but not around here. Around Mither's day walmart had some the most gorgeous PALE pink ones I was drooling over. Different from the hot pink ones I usually see.

I put in another raised garden bed and planted mostly seeds in it. I do need some red pepper plants though. Dinner is up in the air. Dh’s houseguest is still here but they’re golfing. Normally it’s a 3 day event but for some reason this year they made it 5. I really wanted to go to the art show tonight but dh says his friend doesn’t want to. 🙄 next year he said he’d bring his wife to hang with me. Maybe ask me ? I met her once about 20 years ago. Enjoy your boys scrapmaven. I love hydrangeas cadoodlebug & jeremysgirl. I’m lining the side of my house with them. I have 3 blue, a pink and a maroon. I’ve been trying to get the lime Rickey one but it’s been sold out. When we get a patio I’m planting a hedge of boxwoods in front of hydrangeas. Not sure when that will be though. Contractors don’t even respond.

Hello all. We are in Las Vegas and just relaxing and having fun. Right now dh is playing in a poker tournament and I’m having ice coffee and leisurely poking around in some shops. We haven’t picked dinner yet tonight but I’m feeling steak… we saw Jerry Seinfeld last night and I loved that- I started watching his show in high school while doing my homework so it was fun to see him!

tmarschall I got the blue ones. I've heard...don't quote me...that if I dump all my old coffee grounds around the plants they will come up purple. I'm wondering if I should even try it or if Jeremy will just yell at me for making a mess. Lol! Don't worry too much about the graduation tomorrow. I've had a lot of ex-wife drama in my time but I've just done what I needed to do to keep the peace. And it paid off. She actually thanked me for all the work I did on the baby shower. She said my baby blankets were beautiful. I nearly cried it was so nice and such a change. You are fabulous. And you are kind. You'll be just fine. 😘

Ok so I just returned from possibly buying a camper. Probably buying a camper. I think I'm buying a camper. It hasn't quite sunk in yet.
But anyway, Jeremy just happened to be on Facebook marketplace and our RV dealer posted a used trailer. It's a 2012 and a total cosmetic fixer upper with good bones. We immediately went over to see it.
They didn't want to give us a trade in on our pop up because our pop up is top of the line and it would be a near even swap. He priced out pop up for us and the cost of the new camper is $2500 more. But it's an actual trailer, not a pop up. Which we have talked about ad nauseum.
Also I happen to think that the insides of campers tend to be super ugly and not very homey. So, I have wanted and wished for something with good bones that is in need of a total inside makeover. And that's exactly what this is.
Every single thing on this camper is functional. It has a large refrigerator/freezer, it has a power awning, a built in oven and microwave. Tons of storage. But it's ugly. Just flat out ugly. It needs paint, flooring, reupholstering, etc. And I can't even wait to do all that. If we get it, it will be my winter project.
Keep your fingers crossed because it feels like just a totally random thing we did on a lark. But it just feels right and I'm excited about it.

Good Afternoon! We got up early and went to the farmers market. I needed honey and I knew the would have it. It was packed today! I think the cool weather played a big part in the crowd. After that we just took a leisurely stroll around downtown. Since DH was with me we went bicycle shopping for our granddaughter. That will be her birthday gift at the end of the month. We then made it to yet another grandsons baseball game. The only disappointment to the day was not getting any strawberries. All the local strawberry patches have closed. I was hoping the one closest to us would be open today so I could go pick some but they announced yesterday they were closed for the season. It was a terrible season. Not enough rain. There weren’t any at the farmers market either. We planted a hydrangea bush when we built our house. So this is the second year and it has yet to bloom. What is wrong??? Happy birthday to your husband destined2bmom. Congratulations on your weight loss karenlou and tmarschall. You will be wonderful in your interactions with her tmarschall. Dinner is BLT’s.

High everyone and Happy weekend. Thank you for making me smile! That "HIGH" little scrapmaven character in the plane is so cute! I really wanted to go to the art show tonight but dh says his friend doesn’t want to. 🙄 next year he said he’d bring his wife to hang with me. Maybe ask me ? I met her once about 20 years ago. Could you go by yourself? Also...how awkward to be forced to hang with someone you've only met once. I used to have fun tagging along with DH on some of his business trips, and I had no problem doing things on my own. This one time, a guy's wife wanted to hang out with me every day. We had NOTHING in common--I would've preferred to be alone. She wanted to go to a bunch of jewelry stores, etc., which bore me to tears! We did have fun at the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, though (although I would've preferred to go there with my teddy bear DH). we saw Jerry Seinfeld last night and I loved that- Oh, that sounds fun! leannec...I'm glad you liked that video---he is HILARIOUS! He also critiques fashion at The Oscars, Grammys, Golden Globes, etc.

Umm...did you have to sit on a gurney that long because they were short-staffed? Lots of emergencies came in? Wow! SEVEN HOURS is wayyy too long! I'm glad you're better, though. (( hugs ))

Hi all! I haven't posted much lately (for many many reasons I'll go into later) but I've been trying to keep current with people's news and goings on. We'll either have steak and corn and potatoes (baked Idaho for DH, sweet potato for me) or the leftover fried chicken I got for takeout last night.
I'm finally settling back in to a sort of normal (well, grieving normal - is that a thing?) and coming out of a fog from several different happenings over the last couple of months. 1) Being out of state for a month while my Dad needed caring for after a fall in which he broke his arm; his subsequent illness, health downturn, and eventual death. RIP, Dad. He was 92 and a wonderful person - I will miss him always. 2) The HUGE drama and trauma of an un-medicated and mentally unstable sibling whose rage and emotional upheaval overshadowed the entire funeral process. I'm still processing all of it; it will take a while. Sigh. 3) ***Happy news*** DS coming home from his year-long study abroad program, his graduation and all the excitement of hearing more about his year! The timing though makes me even happier that we took a long weekend trip to visit my dad at New Year's while DS was home for his holiday break (a Christmas surprise for me!) - otherwise DS would not have gotten to see his grandpa before he passed. He now cherishes those memories because the two of them were able to compare notes on Morocco (where DS was studying, and where my dad had visited during his time in the service during the Korean War). 4) After DS had been home for less than a week, I got very very sick with a non-COVID respiratory virus that put me out of commission for almost 3 weeks. It eventually turned into a sinus infection and now a week after finishing antibiotics I am finally feeling almost back to my normal non-sick self.
Happy Saturday all!

scrapmaven 7 hours on a gurney! Ugh! I'm glad they fixed it! jeremysgirl I love hydrangeas and if my pup will get over eating everything in the garden maybe one day I will plant them. Seems like most flowers that are gorgeous are toxic t dogs. destined2bmom happy birthday to dh! teddyw Yay to another raised bed. We just need more sunshine for ours to grow. It's been too cool. I have never been successful with red pepper plants. scrappinwithoutpeas sounds like you need a vacation! Happy graduation to your DS! Tonight is korean vegetable pancake and some rotisserie chicken. I've been catching up on things on the computer which is difficult with my de quervains. I use two wrist pads to elevate my wrist with a brace otherwise the brace types it's own choices.
