Hi everyone! I didn't sleep a wink last night! I'm not even feeling tired right now but I know I will crash later so I see a nap in my future! It's going to be hot here today (28 degrees Celsius) so I'm staying inside in front of my fans ... everyone I know seems to be planning to go to the Calgary Stampede tonight but not me ... Molly is going to pick up some cotton candy for me though! This is what I posted on Facebook today ... I thought it was cute ... not something I would have in my "Paris" themed condo! I'm not sure what dinner will be tonight ... probably takeout of some sort because I have actually been doing quite a bit of cooking this week ... What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a great Saturday everybody!

Hi leannec I'm sorry you didn't sleep last night. We partied so hard (no alcohol for me or Jeremy though) I didn't get to bed until after 11:30! Which is obscene for us. But it's fun to visit with my cousin. I slept in until 8. Crazy. The camper people are coming at 2 today. Let's hope all goes according to plan and it is on its way to its new house this afternoon. I will finish quilts the rest of the day today. Dinner tonight will be celebration takeout and I am going to lobby hard for Chinese food. We haven't had it in a while and I've got a craving. I'm hitting the shower now. I've put it off long enough.

Our weather here is heating up. Today we have a high of 31°C and it is predicted to go higher tomorrow and Monday.
This morning, DH decided to go in search of a new grill. Our old one is playing up - the gas burner doesn't always stay on when lit, which is getting really annoying. After 2 hardware stores and the garden center, where we couldn't find the same grill we already have - one said they could order it in for us, both of us went online and discovered 1) we could order the grill direct from the hardware store and 2) it is possible to order just a replacement burner, which is what DH did, right there in the Garden Center! We also booked our summer vacation this afternoon. Just for something completely different, we are going to an all-inclusive resort in Varna, Bulgaria! It is right on the Black Sea and looks lovely. Mainly, we were looking for warm weather (average highs there in July/August are around 30°C), nice pools and a beach. There is a buffet restaurant, an al la carte seafood restaurant and a beach BBQ/grill bar.
Dinner tonight is Iberico pork cutlets, hopefully on the grill. DH has put a really nice smelling rub on them and we will also have potato salad and corn.

Good Morning! Another one that slept poorly last night. Tossed and turned, went out to the couch. Just not a good night. It is cool and rainy here today. My flowers are loving the much needed rain we have gotten over the past week. Why is it they seem to do much better when it rains versus me watering them. I am at work trying to wrap up some details before I leave Monday morning. Keeping my fingers crossed for you jeremysgirl. I knew someone would come along and appreciate your pop up. Your upcoming vacation sounds lovely sueg. I need to go to the grocery store today. Two grandsons are being baptized tomorrow and DS asked if we could have lunch afterwards at our house. Good thing my house is pretty clean since my DIL's parents and grandparents will be coming. Dinner will be whatever I find at the store.

We are having a good Saturday. We have nothing planned. My dad was talking about going to the good Mexican restaurant in town which could be fun.
Dexter just got brushed for the first time in a while. He looks gorgeous now. I hope he is feeling better. It’s time for his meds soon.
Today is a rest day. I have been exercising hard and I need a day off. My weight isn’t cooperating. Piano teacher asks why the heck I care? I just do! My clothes still fit anyway. Life is good!

Good morning. sueg, that vacation sounds wonderful. What a great way to relax and have fun. jeremysgirl, I'll send sell-the-camper vibes. May the sale go though as planned. leannec, that octopus mug is different. You have such a cute condo. I love the way you decorated it. I'll be sitting at my puzzle today. I might try do some paper crafting, too. Dinner will be dh's choice. I'm not sure, yet. I don't even have a tentative plan. Cooking is the easy part. Enjoy today, tribe.

Cooled off here today and humidity is not as bad as it has been. My mom and I are headed to my great niece, her great granddaughter’s first birthday party. She turns one at the end of July, but they’re here now and so we’re going to celebrate.
My niece and her husband and two boys just landed in Buffalo and are here for about two weeks and I cannot wait to see them. Hope everybody has a good day.

DH, DS and I went on a long walk and visited the Farmer's Market and an old car show. 8,000 steps! Yesterday we visited the Black Chasm Cavern National Natural Landmark and it was awesome. As I said yesterday, we were the only ones on our tour so we had a great time interacting with the guide. Here is one of the pictures I took. Tomorrow is DH's birthday so we'll celebrate this evening with Tri-tip, zucchini and a fruit salad. It has been lovely weather for DS's trip up. We did a drop in at Staples even though they said there were no drop-in appointments for TSA-Pre. The guy was between appointments and DS had all the paperwork filled out online so he quickly did it for him. So glad!

Hi everyone ! I have been MIA because I was in a bad place and needed to have time for myself and away from social media. I went for my knee replacement Oct.2022 to Texas. Everything went ok and am pain free. I still have trouble walking up steps but I'm grateful that I can walk without that extreme pain I had. It has really made a difference in my quality of life. Going to Texas and staying there for a while gave me no choice but to go through my late son's things. Although it's been 5 years that he passed away doing this put me in a very bad place. It was a very hard thing to do and am sorry I waited so long to do it. I came back to NY in March and am back to work. I'm trying to stay positive, work on my weight and keep myself busy. My first step was stopping in and saying hello and tell you all how much you were missed. Dinner tonight will be salmon with a salad.

I spent a lovely morning at the quilt shop. I also visited the last store and now have all of the quilt block pieces. Off to finish these blocks and design how I want to finish this quilt.
Went to Costco and purchase way too many things that I didn't realise that I needed.
Dinner will be something on the bbq.

We are struggling with finding something for dinner. My dad is not cooperating. I cannot think of anything without carbs in it. There is nothing but prepackaged garbage in the freezer that I keep telling him not to but. I mean he needs heart surgery this month or next and all he wants to eat is garbage like last night. Parenting a parent isn’t for sissies.

WELCOME BACK!! bklyngal62. You were missed. I’m sorry you’ve been having a hard time (hugs to you), but glad your knees are better and glad you’re back now. I think I forgot to say earlier, I’m making a lemon blueberry cake today, too. Too many lemons and blueberries here! This is a big deal because I never, hardly ever bake anymore. Off to the kitchen with me now. Went to Costco and purchase way too many things that I didn't realise that I needed. Welcome to my world.

Hi we are having chicken cordon bleus for dinner. There are tomatoes, broccoli and coleslaw.
I just went for a long walk with Dexter after my other long walk this morning. I may pass out now. Everything is tired.
I should probably have some lunch as it’s nearly 3 pm but there is nothing I really want. Maybe a low carb wrap with cheese. That is easy. I have to get out of my chair to make it. This could be hard.

A rainy, miserable, not so nice day here! The temp is great but it’s sooo wet!
Had a brief visit from YS this afternoon because he wanted to borrow our small compressor. His girlfriend has gone away for a week to Calgary to visit friends and he is going to surprise her by completing some of the house projects that have been put on hold. She will be quite happy when she gets home next week.
DS and DDIL are taking a short vacation next week to Victoria, BC and I’m on grandboy duty. It starts on Thursday night until Tuesday night. Nana is going to need a vacation to rest after this adventure.
Supper was steak roast with potatoes, carrots and salad.

I can only imagine how difficult your recent tasks were. I hope you'll be kind to yourself. Grief is so hard.

bklyngal62 welcome back. I can only imagine how difficult that must be. Hugs to you. My back went out Thursday night and got into the chiropractor yesterday which helped. He wanted me to rest my back and use heat which is working. The little pumpkin or little terror ran out the front door as DH opened it and he heard DS. He ran around the cul de sac chomping on a found face mask (which causes blockages). We all were out there and I'm blocking a car from entering the court. 😱🤯. He knows what "come" means but has selective hearing. Tonight we are having lettuce wraps, potstickers and cucumber salad (picked 6 cucumbers!).

Hi all, we are home. The trip was too short and we were so sad to leave. If they hadn't been full we would have tacked on another night. We had the loveliest time. Yesterday Nick played guitar and I read. Then Anna (former student, now we've "adopted" her) came for the afternoon as she lives about 40 min from where we were. We grilled burgers and brats, with fruit and macaroni salad for dinner and played UNO before she left. We went for a late night ice cream at the campgrounds store. This morning we had pancakes and bacon and had to begin packing for home. We stopped by the beach (Lake MI) in St. Joe for a bit and then wound our way home, taking our time. It was nice to gain our hour back on the way. We've unpacked and we are plugging away at laundry. We had sandwiches and sausage/rotel/queso dip that we didn't get to on the trip. We can't wait to go again and are already looking at dates and campgrounds. Now to reorient my brain...my summer class begins Tuesday. I'm ready for them but I have some things to print and get organized. Hope you all are hanging in there! A few more pics from our last couple days. Attachments:

Welcome back bklyngal62. I’m so sorry you have been struggling. I’m sure that’s a huge relief to be done with that jeremysgirl. Now the fun can start with the new camper. Glad you had a fun trip tmarschall. We ended up with the youngest gds tonight. He’s loving being the only one here and getting all the attention.

I'd love to see it when it's done quiltz I will send you a picture after 5pm on July 31st. Rules of the shop hop are that people are not to post pictures of either the blocks, colour design or the way each shop has finished off their quilt. Each store has a unique finish to the quilt, either different colours or sashes or different ways of placing each block and the stores want the shoppers to be surprised at each store. Hopefully people will be mindful and respectful of this rule.
