Last night I was laying in bed watching tv and this commercial came on. I have to admit I gasp at the end. Trust me I'm no pearl clutcher but it just seems inappropriate. Is this even a blip on your radar?

Is this even a blip on your radar? Are you talking about the price? It’s a little funny, but given that the country is like 40% conservative (give or take), it doesn’t seem like a smart business move.

garcia5050. Yes, I was not expecting the 666. I'm hard to shock but I have to say I was.

The price? The name of the burger? It doesn’t bother me. I kind of thought it was funny.
Don’t forget, Carls Jr used to have some pretty racy/se3y ads about ten years ago. Girls in a bikini, eating a burger while in a sexy pose with sauce dripping down their bodies. I guess s3x is ok with their customers but not Diablo.

I’m a little surprised given all the backlash against target for selling “satanistic” clothing. I have to think this was done on purpose to get attention, even if it’s negative.

That number has been in two of my phone numbers. Now and then people who ask for my number will comment, but I don't think the number even registers for most people anymore. Perhaps as more people walk away from organized religion, it becomes less recognizable. I will say that it is a good marketing strategy. People who know the significance of the number will get the connection.

I saw that and thought to myself, guess I won't be trying that burger now. lol Didn't wan't to have bad juju on me for eating a satanistic burger.
I know businesses are graping for ways to gain customers, but some are going a bit out there these days.

No gasping here...while I know what many think of 666, it's not a number that has any meaning to me personally. It seems like a pretty tame CJR ad to me.

I have 666 in my license and phone number and people always comment on it when I have to give them. I always tell them they are probably pretty appropriate.😆
I did not gasp and also laughed.

When there’s a warning to stay away from a number like 13 and 666, the idea of it as actually being a powerful number and the powers that be want that to stay suppressed from the masses is likely much closer to the truth than the superstition.

I would have been upset if it was any price OTHER than $6.66. With a name like El Diablo, it’s perfect.

I surprised to see that anyone would be dismayed at a 666 reference. I guess that they wouldn’t be ordering pizza from one of our New Zealand chains: Hell Pizza Sooooo good. Wonderful pizzas such as: Purgatory Damned Limbo Lust Greed Envy Gluttony 333 (healthy kids pizza) Morning After pizza Cursed Trouble Saviour Mayhem Brimstone Sinister I enjoy ringing my order in, rather than ordering online, just so I can ask for: one Double Lust and one Purgatory please.

Aside: Buildings often skip thirteen when labeling floors. Although it’s less common the past twenty years. A 13 story building might play a game of calling the grade level entry Ground Level, and First Floor would actually be the second. And taller building would simply skip it, 11, 12, 14, 15 Supposedly harder to lease commercially or for hotel rooms. mymindseyedpea thanks for reminder

Took me a while to figure out! yeah, I watched it and I’m like, what’s so offensive? No Carl jr near me so no worries, even if there was I can’t eat there anyway. But I’m not about to get offended over a price

I had to read the comments here to know what made you gasp. It goes totally over my head, so if they wanted to shock me--didn't work.
666 does not even ping on my radar, but I was not brought up in conservative fundamentalist Christianity.

They skip the 4th floor, and things like golf balls do not come on sleeves of 4. The character for 4 can be pronounced the same as “death”.

did not make me gasp. I find it amusing. Same. I wouldn't buy it myself because a) I'm just superstitious enough to not want to do that and b) I can't eat really spicy stuff. But I still find it slightly amusing.

I think it is funny. Also, the burger looks good.
I have no idea why people are scared of/offended by a number. It is just a number.
