Quick Q: Is there a list of topics/stories anywhere, whether it's from a scrapper, Ali herself, or something you've personally compiled?
I think my downfall every year is getting enough photos or only capturing a few milestones.

I think my downfall every year is getting enough photos or only capturing a few milestones. The annual DD threads have had daily prompts in December the past few years. There's also been a couple of PDF files to download with all the prompts. 😉

I can share my list of the activities we have done over the last few years. We don't do all of them every year but most of them most years. -seeing Santa/letter from Santa -decorating Grandma's & Grandpa's house -kids' Christmas lists/grown-up Christmas list -St. Nicholas Day -kids' ornaments -tree farm & decorating the tree -outdoor decor/lights -reading Christmas books before bed -cookie exchange/party -seeing "The Nutcracker"/other Christmas show -first significant snow of the season/feeling like Christmas (or the reverse if there's a heatwave) -shopping -service project -family Nativity -baking cookies with Grandma -kids' Christmas faves (fave Christmas book, song, movie, tradition, etc. for that year) -Christmas card -Advent calendars -stockings hung up -to-do list for the season -gratitude manger (we each write down something we're grateful for before bed, put them in a manger under the tree, & then read them aloud to each on Christmas Day) -local Christmas market -trip to Frankenmuth/Bronner's -trip to Christkindl Market in Chicago -caroling/Christmas program at church -driving through local neighborhood to see Christmas lights -Christmas by the numbers (how many shopping trips, etc.) -compare & contrast past Christmases & present Christmas -one of my Christmas memories -Christmas words from others: cards, texts, etc. -Hallmark movies -coordinating family jammies -Christmas Eve photo in front of the tree -Christmas Eve photo of the tree after gifts are put out -light display at local garden -kissing ball -holiday work party -Christmas morning

Sneak of the Liz Tamanaha kit I don't hate this. I'm interested to see what the rest of her kit looks like, based on this sneak I could imagine adding soft pinks that work with that red.

I am very committed to doing a December Daily this year, but I am torn on format. Part of me wants to do the small 6x8 album with all of the cute little interactive elements and inserts. Another part of me says to make this part of my regular, annual 12x12 album so the whole year is together and I don't have the added need to store a separate small album. Has anyone done this as pocket pages and layouts in a larger album, or have you seen an example of this that you could point me to?

This is second hand knowledge, reposted.

I have separate mini albums that are a part of holiday decoration. And I also duplicate a few photos to add into my yearly 12x12.

DD-ayum. 🙀 This is really disheartening. I was counting on Crate Paper. I've bought from their Christmas release every single year for so long. Not sure what's up at the AC headquarters but this seems like a poor decision. Paige's line is definitely going to be too bright and doodly to replace the annual CP December collection for their usual customers. I'm left orphaned. So weird (and sad) not getting to purchase any CP for Christmas this year. Hoping Pinkfresh put out something I love now. 🤞

This is second hand knowledge. It could be wrong, right? Right?
I may buy some mistletoe and mittens just in case.
Ali and Lisa snuck/sneaked some DD items. 2 very pretty 6x8 albums, white with gold stars and a green floral. The 8x10 album is the same messy writing as the vellum sneaks. Godawful. I really do not understand the compulsion to use that font over and over and over.

Has anyone done this as pocket pages and layouts in a larger album, or have you seen an example of this that you could point me to? I found that when I kept a PL album and did DD separately it bothered me a LOT to have some things in each album. I would end up replicating a lot of stories in both albums. Looking back at those albums I would find it confusing to have an album that finished before the year ended and have to remember whether there was another album to look for. That said, after I quit doing PL I kept doing DD/JYC so I have a box of smaller albums that I pull out with the Christmas decorations each year and enjoy looking through. I think it depends on how annoyed you'll be if December is missing from your main album or if you have to make duplicate pages to make both albums feel complete. I don't have any examples to point to though, sorry.

The mistletoe floral print is very pretty and belongs to a kit as it was also featured on paper products in the sneaks. If this is another Paislee Press design, Liz is killing the DD game. 🔥🔥🔥
So far, nothing else calls my name in the AE sneaks. I haven't had a love-at-first-sight moment with any of the new Christmas scrapbook lines either. I'm in DD limbo right now.

I think the green floral album has a Rifle vibe for me. I did that look a couple of years ago when I got really into Rifle Christmas wrap, so although I love the album, I'm not sure it's for me this year.
Agree that the 10x8 suits a specific aesthetic and I'm guessing will undersell this year.

I am really thinking that 1 photo a day + some simple journaling would be good this year - much like she used to do in the early days, using something like these overlays.

I read this twice thinking you were calling yourself a 'DD Bimbo'. ROFL New name for us! HA HA HA!!! I'm left orphaned. So weird (and sad) not getting to purchase any CP for Christmas this year. I feel the same way. I only picked up a little Paige and a couple of Simple Stories. So far I don't think I'm getting much Ali. Has anyone done this as pocket pages and layouts in a larger album, or have you seen an example of this that you could point me to? Yes! Was it pantsonfire ? A lot of people do this.

blemon infochickI do this for my yearly albums. For DD I do 6x8. But for yearly, I do a combo of pocket pages and regular layouts that are 9x12.

Has anyone ever printed all your DD photos in black and white? I have always done my albums in tradition Christmas colors. I’m thinking something more pastel this year but not sure I would like my photos with softer colors.

Has anyone done this as pocket pages and layouts in a larger album, I also do both. I create a dedicated, usually 6x8, DD album that typically goes to either Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Then I also add pages into my yearly PL album as I'm one of those people who doesn't want Dec missing from this album. My PL album has some stories that are the same as my DD, and others that are different. I'm more likely to focus on the non-Christmas stories in my PL but include the big Christmas events as well.

I need that gold album, as in hope it doesn't sell out before I wake up, will pay ridiculous box shipping to get it. This is the first thing I've been really excited for, which is especially wonderful as I'm usually quite indifferent about the albums offered. The green is pretty too, but not really my style.

Has anyone done this as pocket pages and layouts in a larger album, or have you seen an example of this that you could point me to? This is how I am now documenting my December memories. Everything goes into my yearly album, and I do a variety of layouts and pocket pages. I choose two different collections to use for the whole month of December so everything seems cohesive and alternate between full 12x12 layouts and a pocket page of some sort. I also add smaller pages (6x8, 9x12, whatever I feel like creating) throughout to capture the little things as well. In 2021, I used Doodlebug's Let It Snow and Shimelle's Glitter Girl collections. I posted all of the layouts in order on my Instagram if you would like to see it. It starts with this title page: http://instagram.com/p/CXbbE88ujw1
