I thought it would be fun/helpful to have a chat thread where we share our thoughts on the different videos and techniques and perhaps share cards we make inspired by them?

I've just watched Justine Hovey's video so far. While her batch cardmaking tips are pretty much common sense, I did find it helpful to watcxh the process step by step as I tend to jump ahead of myself sometimes. And I really liked the reminder about considering the complexity of the techniques when batch making cards. And now I'm tempted to look for some sentiment stamps/dies where I can stamp and cut a whole bunch in one go.

understandable MDscrapaholicI've only watched two so far - the other was Gaylynn's - I'm intrigued by the shimmer paste but not sure I want to invest in another product I might not actually use much (looks at distress inks and texture paste)

I fast forwarded through a few of them this morning. Nothing really caught my attention. I already batch make my Christmas cards. The embossing folder ones were pretty generic. Im waiting for Saturday morning for SLoC.

I’ve watched/fast forwarded thru a few videos and they were ok.
I did however really like Charlene Madrid’s video. All 3 techniques were good but card 3 with the embossed strips was great. I need to try that out.

That's my feeling, they're okay. I liked the one with the shimmer paste, too, Linda , am hoping I can substitute the Solar Paste I have instead of buying new stuff.

I enjoyed watching Ardeth's video and liked her technique. I have no desire to buy a stencil 360 but I appreciated that she showed ways to get similar results without it

We got blue Lunar paste (I think that's the name or is it Solar paste) in one of our C&CD boxes. I've never opened it but I think it has shimmer. I was going to try using that over the embossed images. Both Gaylynn and Charlene used that similar technique in their videos.

I just watched the one with Charlene - I really like the vellum card!
I'll have to look at the embossing folders I have, see if any could be used with that blue Lunar Paste!

From what I can see so far, there is not a lot that is “new” to me, so a little disappointed. Seems like there could have been some more detailed techniques etc. Did enjoy the embossing folder ones.

I waited a minute and didn't move off the screen. Nothing came up. This is waaaaay too frustrating and all the emails are annoying.

I watched:
Ardyth - pretty standard video for her, nothing you can't see on her channel. Although she did show some options for people without the Stencils360 tool it does require that you have more stencil options than I have. I do have a 360 tool though, thanks to a very generous Pea, so I will consider some of her ideas like cutting up larger panels for future cards.
Justine - she had some useful advice but watching her craft makes me cringe a little. My dad always emphasized efficiency of movement in repetitive tasks so seeing her work with glues and Nuvo drops I kept wanting to tell her to work left to right and top to bottom so she wouldn't smear them with her hands. (I totally would!) Watching her try to stick down panels with wet Nuvo drops... ugh. Good lesson, but more as a cautionary tale.
Aditi - I watched with sound off, fast forwarding through some of it. I don't do much mixed media but the results were quite pretty.
I see that Gaylynn seems to be using an embossing folder that I own so I will try to watch that one before bedtime tonight. The rest look uninspiring or not my style.

This is my first event...but after I read thru their looooong emails, I found links to "sheets". It has pictures of the cards which totally show you the technique. I downloaded Charlene's so if that link has expired for you, send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward it to you.

Crafty Al sent email to her list about her presentation tomorrow morning. I realized I might have time to watch -- or at least download the sketch -- before leaving for vacation. But I can't seem to sign up. Turned off pop-up blockers for the sites, but nothing happens when I click the sign up link.

Hahaha! I was thinking maybe my browser was just no longer compatible with whatever they're doing. But when I found a link to order all-access pass, that came up. I'm not around, but they suckered me out of $39 bucks again....
Looking at some of the chat, I'm somewhat hopeful I can find that much worthwhile content to watch.
I have had a long, hard week. I have no idea what I was trying to say when I typed “I’m not around” above. None. I just know it doesn’t make sense.

I enjoyed the one with the poinsettia watercolor stamping. I might try that technique if I have a suitable stamp. Laurel and Daniel were exactly what I expected. I have mixed feelings about both. I started watching the embossed snowflake one but there didn’t seem to be anything special there.

“Proud”…I think, having slept some, that I was trying to say I’m not proud of the fact that I paid ‘‘em again.
But I watched Crafty Al and got the sketch. And I will be on vacation this week, so I’ll have time to poke around and see if anything’s worthwhile.

I watched the copic colored Halloween scene card because I have some similar stamps. I don't use copics but I did get some inspiration (to go shopping for more Sweet November scene stamps and a TH moon stencil set, lol!) Also going to check out her YT because I enjoyed her video.
There are a few others today that look interesting, besides the Sheetload, of course.

I watched Miss Carrie with her folded flower cards. I have seen those folds before, but have never tried it. I wish I had instructions for the sizes. Her page says by adding your email the instructions are available. But, that's not the case unless you buy the full priced classes. I haven't had time to watch many so that wouldn't be worth it to me.
