In case you were thinking about going, don’t. I should have learned my lesson. Care to elaborate? Well I met a lovely classmate sitting down and we chatted and I said to her let’s go socialize. So we met some people, they turned their backs to us and that was that. My boyfriend from high school was there. It was nice to see him but my classmate and I got some terrible food and she went home as did I. I had 3 drinks and the men behaved terribly. My kids were actually waiting upstairs unbeknownst to me and we went home. Of course YMMV.

I just went to my 25th reunion, actually. Well, the alternative one.
Our official reunion had a committee with a member who is a professional bigot and makes his living off of persecuting the LGBTQ+ community with books, videos, conferences, etc. A handful of us said we were not comfortable attending anything he was helping to plan so we planned a low-key event at the same time that we attended. It was definitely way more fun than the 20th one five years ago, and even though we got a lot of flak about it from the majority of our class, it was worth it for me.

I went to my 30th and it was ok. Nothing surprising or exciting. They are planning a 35th in October of this year, but I won't be able to make it as I already have a trip scheduled at that time. I'm not sure I would have attended anyway.

I graduated in 1987 in Florida.
Besides the fact that it's Florida and I don't really care to ever go back there because of what it's become, it's just never really worked out for me to attend. I really wanted to go to my 10 year and even helped from afar to plan things. I was 6 months pregnant with my DD#1 and ended up not being allowed to travel (I lived in MS at the time). I've kept up with the ones who do the planning and love seeing all of the pics of the activities and how everyone has changed. I'm "friends" on FB with most of the people I cared about back then so I feel like I'm caught up with the news in their lives. Strangely, many of my classmate FB friends aren't even ones I hung with in school. It's been nice to see the maturity level go up as we've aged. LOL
I do keep in touch with a few of my HS teachers. Even to this day, at 54, I still refer to them as Mr. or Mrs. So-and-so. LOL

No. I was very shy and had few friends. I've sporadically kept in touch with one of my best friends from high school but have not been in contact with her for several years. My other best friend from high school moved our senior year and died very young.
Dh and I went to school together. Through his work he occasionally sees and talks to people we went to school with, but that's it.
I have no interest in ever going to one. I wasn't friends with most people than. At this point they are essentially strangers to me. I am extremely shy and have social anxiety and social gatherings where I do not know people are a nightmare. And the larger they are, the worse it is. Dh thinks we should one day at some point. For now though, no.

No. I went to one many years ago. We just had a 40th last year. I still live close to the town I grew up in and am there a lot as my parents still live there and I still have high school friends that I see a lot .
There was an all years reunion block party that was organized for this year that I would have probably gone to this summer but was away when it happened. I still see a lot of classmates frequently when out in town. I also have friends who see a lot of them or keep up with people on Facebook (which I have never had). My parents will run into former classmates of mine or hear stuff from families and other people, so I do know what it going on with a lot of them. Small town and a small state makes it easy to stay connected I guess without reunions. 😄
Never went to a college one and didn’t have any real strong or lasting friendships from that time.
ETA - I did enjoy both High school and College, so that isn’t really the issue for not attending any. Although my group of close friends were from different grades. I also use to see a lot of people at Weddings and now, unfortunately, at funerals. We were also a union high school so elementary schools were in various towns but all went to one high school. I am thinking we had about 170 people in our graduating class but will have to look at my yearbook to confirm. Weirdly our school called it a quatrain and I am not sure why.

My 40th High School reunion (Class of '83!) was last weekend. I have never attended one. I only lived there 10-12th grades and moved away after graduation. I have no ties to the area any longer. One of my classmates posted the entire ceremony, including each of the 268 graduates walking up to get their diploma, on You Tube. It was fun to watch. I was there but don't remember any of it. Found a few random shots of myself in the sea of students. It's on videotape and the quality is pretty bad. I can't believe someone held onto it for so long.

I went to high school in Germany with a lot of other kids from all over Canada. We have all years reunions every three years or so and I’ve been to many of them. They are held in different places each time. We military brats have a pretty tight bond and it’s always a fun time.

I went to my 50th reunion this weekend. Many classmates who hadn't gone to previous reunions turned up. As always, people were just nice. Over the years, the committee developed this warm, fun vibe and everyone was really welcoming. This time DH and I saw a number of old friends who were very special to us. My friends and I will probably go on a girls' trip and DH and I might go on a cruise with his friend and wife. The committee really knocked it out of the park this time. It was really wonderful.

No thank you! They didn't like me then so they certainly don't like me now ... and vice versa! I think reunions are meant for the popular people ... My thoughts exactly!

I really wanted to go to my college reunion, but covid made our 25th a bust. I have zero interest in every seeing anyone from my high school with the exception of those who've I kept in touch with.

I've only gone to 1. We have one coming up next year and I'm still on the fence about going. I broke off with a chunk of my high school friends our junior year. Not really sure there's a point in going.

Nope. I've never been to one and I have no interest in going. I was bullied horribly from 4th to 12th grade by the people organizing it. I have no interest in seeing any of those horrid people. Someone said that most likely they will have mellowed out and not be the same assholes they were in school but I don't care, the damage was done.

Funny you should ask. This past weekend I drove 15 hours (1:00 AM - 4:15 PM) from Bothell WA to San Rafael CA. The Reunion was 11: AM for lunch. I felt out of place because I didn't know anyone and no one remembered me. I only went to school there for last half of Jr. year and my Senior year. All the others came up thru the whole system and have known each other for years. I left about 2:00 PM and went back to the motel and slept for a few hours and left San Rafael at 5:15 PM and arrived home at 6:25 AM.

My five year reunion, I was the only person with a real job. I owned my salon already. Everyone else was still in party mode. I didn’t even drink at the time. They were all so drunk and trashed the place. They were asked never to come back there. 😂😂
They skipped having a 10 year altogether.
20 yr reunion was at a room that the school rents out. Middle of town. No hotels nearby. Who wants to go back to school?
30 year was 2020 so postponed until 2022 and the had a field party at a classmates farm. 🙄🙄🙄
Needless to say I only went to the first one, that was enough for me.

Yes, I even helped plan the first few. It ends up being a lot of work and the group I planned with had decided we were not going to plan the 30th, so someone else stepped in to do it. I contemplated even going to one of my BFFs reunions because she is a year older than me and I know most of her class too.

I live in the same town, on the same street as I grew up on. I see who I care to see from high school. Next year is the 40th. Likely not going to attend that one either. I don’t see the point.

I went to my 5th. Had a good time. Had a couple of dates after with 2 different guys from the class.
I never went to others. 60th was this past weekend. Photos were sent yesterday. One of the guys I had a date with 55 years ago looks like a hermit--long beard and had a walking stick.
I have a very, very goofy SIL who was in my class. She is the reason I never attended another reunion. We would have had to sit together and that would have ruined any conversation etc. She will do bizarre things just to get attention and I wanted no part of that.
