Hi everyone! I'm just about to go meet my mum at Denny's for breakfast. Here is another photo from the Barbie event I went to the other night ... a pet rescue group brought a bunch of cats and dogs all dressed up in pink ... soooooo cute! This is Jynx riding in her stroller. I need to do a bit of supply organization for back-to-school this afternoon ... blech! Dinner tonight will be at a downtown pub that serves roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding, mashed potatoes, gravy and veggies as a choice on their menu ... my mum is craving it so I googled and that is where we are going! How is everyone feeling today? What are your plans today? What is on your menu tonight? Have a relaxing Sunday everybody!

Getting ready to walk with DH. When we get back I'll marinate a tri-tip roast for dinner. I'll post more later!

We woke up this morning to steady rain and it has continued until about an hour ago. Spoke to DS2, to check on a few details for his upcoming travels before church. After church, I was able to get online and have now booked accommodation and trains for our side trip while DS is here. All 3 of us are driving to Budapest for 4 days, then we will drive to Vienna and have lunch. DH will then leave DS and I there and return to Munich. Ds and I will spend 3 days in Vienna, then train to Prague for 3 days, then train back to Munich. DS is also planning a solo trip to visit a friend in Paris, but that's his to arrange.
This afternoon I went for a walk once the rain cleared, but otherwise have been knitting with the football on TV. I have finished the first 'llama sock' for Sophia - one of a few items I want to get done for DS to take back with him.
Dinner tonight is an Indian-style lamb curry with vegetables, which I will serve with rice.

As planned I have rechauffe from my chicken, sauce/cheese bake from yesterday. There is leftover pasta for DH, I'll most likely have a salad with mine...I have grape and cherry tomatoes in abundance...so my salad will be tomato heavy😊 I was out early harvesting basil so I am about to make pesto, I make it on the pasty side and scoop it with my cookie scoop and freeze the pesto balls for use later in whatever!!
Working tonight, so a nap n my future, It was nice to have 3-4 days off from work/call. Hoping for a quiet b=night tonight.

sueg I can't remember if you said when your son was coming. I'll bet you are super excited to show him around and get one-on-one time with him. leannec enjoy your breakfast. karenlou I'm glad you got a few days break because at the end of your last run I didn't know how you were still standing. I got up early this morning. I went to the farmers market and bought all my groceries for the week. Jeremy just has a few things to pick up at the regular store. I was able to get freshly ground cappuccino flavored peanut butter. It was delicious on my morning banana. Jeremy's company is doing a big golf outing today. That's where he is. They will have a big banquet at the end so I don't have to feed him. I picked up some fresh tamales at the farmers market. So I'm going to just have them for dinner tonight. I printed all my May pictures and I am scrapbooking right now.

karenlou , I was just wondering if you had a break from work? I guess not. Would you be willing to share your pesto recipe? I have lots of basil right now. leannec , I still miss your kitty photos from the rescue. Sniffle. I know you do, too. May this week be much better than you anticipate. cadoodlebug , everytime you mention tri-tip it sounds so good. Yummy. sueg , your trip w/your ds is going to be so much fun. I love traveling w/my sons, but we don't go to the wonderful places that you will visit. Please show us a photo of the llama socks when you're done. Sophia is going to be so tickled.
jeremysgirl, that peanut butter sounds good. Peanut butter and banana is such a good combo, too. Dh is better today, but still very down for the count. I'm struggling, but better than last week. A very dear friend and her dd are staying at mil's house for 3 weeks as their vacay. I was supposed to pick them up from the airport on Friday and spend the weekend w/them. I don't think I'll be up to that, so I need to arrange transport for them to the house from the airport over an hour away. I feel terrible, because they planned this trip in advance, but I cannot get them sick and I'm not going to be up to any sort of weekend away by Friday. Dh and I were going to take a little getaway after that and we're gonna have to cancel. I just hope they make him get a chext xray tmw. I've been a broken record and I'm ready for both of us to feel well. Enjoy today, my dears.

jeremysgirl, thank you so much. I'll be able to spend time w/my friend and her dd, just not at the beginning. I wanted to give them a tour of the house and get them settled. Oh well, it's a vacation for them and I'm sure that they'll have a great time.

We had a nice walk around Town Center. Wasn't too hot yet. When DS was up in July I took him to Staples to get TSA-Pre since he travels quite a bit for business. He flew from Oakland to Dallas this morning and when I woke up, I had a text from him: OMG, TSA-Pre was amazing! Mother knows best, right? To me, it's a no-brainer. Five years for $78!! scrapmaven , I'm sorry you won't be able to spend next weekend with your friends.

cadoodlebug, I was so impressed that it took 3 minutes to go through the entire signup process at Staples. Super easy and it saves so much time at the airport. Well worth the price.

jeremysgirl - DS is arriving two weeks from tomorrow, at about 9pm. We're heading to Budapest the next morning - he can sleep in the car if he's still a bit jetlagged! scrapmaven - I have been to both Vienna and Prague before, once with DH and once with my sisters. I love both cities and am looking forward to taking DS to my favourite places in them. He is a fun travel companion - we did a long weekend in Madrid together a few years back - and will be up for just about anything! Budapest is 'new' for all of us.

I went to the drug store this morning to pick up a few things. While there, I saw DH’s favourite snack food on sale. He absolutely loves Everything Bagel Cashews. They are typically $7.99 per bag and today I got them on sale for $2.99 per bag. I bought 5 bags. The cashier said “someone must really like these”. So yes, I spent $15 but I saved $25. He was very happy when I got home and presented them to him.
DH is making my charcuterie board today and it looks great. He would have made the ones I wanted for gifts but said he couldn’t buy the wood for less money than the ones I found.
Walker has decided he doesn’t like his kibble. I was chatting with my DIL and she suggested mixing in a spoonful of plain Greek yogurt. She does that for her dogs and they love it. I tried it yesterday and Walker loved it. He licked the bowl clean and was looking for more. That’s a win!
Supper tonight is leftover chicken fettuccine for me and hotdogs for DH.

cadoodlebug, Tell me about this TSA of which you speak....I need to know....several trips coming up... Thanks in Advance TSA-Pre lets you skip the long lines in most US airports. It is fabulous ~ no taking off your shoes or pulling your baggie full of toiletries from your carryon, etc. You just put your carryon on the conveyer belt and walk thru the X-ray thing. It's $78 and it's good for 5 years. Check for Staples in your area that do the TSA-Pre. Unfortunately it doesn't work on International travel, just domestic travel.

DS has landed in Dallas. I was waiting for THE text and wasn't disappointed. "OMG, the humidity. I'm not used to this!!" I had to laugh, I reminded him that it was like that for the 23 years I lived in Louisiana. AND my high school was not air conditioned.

I'm so grateful for our weather break. I actually turned my air off and opened the windows yesterday. Yep, we never sleep with the A/C on. And, since DS lives in the Bay Area, he is used to cool breezes at night and low humidity nearly year round. He is very impressed with his hotel so he's enjoying that and exploring the Galleria that the hotel is attached to.

Another night of fish, rice, and veggie here. Had to do grocery shopping this morning. Braved Costco for coffee and shampoo. Found out that Aldi put in self-check outs in the 8 days since I'd been there last. Bizarre, but I'll try them next time I go. DH and I are thinking of going to Boston/surrounding area in November. My not so little brother is living there til at least the end of November, and we've been talking about going for a while. Right now, my idea is to take an overnight train into Providence, spend the day in Fall River, the next day in Concord, followed by a day in Salem, and then take the ferry to Boston and stay there for 3 days before heading home. We will see what happens.

Flew to Vegas yesterday then drove to Utah. Stayed in a really cute town last night. They were having some annual town fair with live music. We walked around and had a really nice evening.
Today was our first hike. We did The Wave. It was amazing! Drove to Zion this afternoon. Staying in a condo for the next two nights. Tomorrow is another day, another hike. Doubt that my friend and I will do the entire hike. It involves using a chain to walk a narrow ridge.
Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Ugh, it's Monday again. Why does the weekend go so quickly?! We went back to the Sri Lankan restaurant, and this time DSO's mate had booked a table. The food was delicious, although the pork in the Devilled Pork dish wasn't as nice as last week. It was a bit dry.

Back from a family wedding overnight. It was outdoors and the weather was beautiful. Ceremony was indoors but the reception was outside on a lake front. Our niece was stunning. I didn’t take a picture because surely 1 of my 3 DDs would right? No! Not one. Hopefully my other niece posts one soon. It woke me up to how much I need to do for DD’s wedding in 8 1/2 weeks!#1 being the invitations. Tonight we had hot dogs with roasted potatoes, beans & watermelon. I’m sorry you & dh aren’t getting better scrapmaven.

so back from my weekend in the woods.. did a lot of swimming.. a lot in hood canal. saw a seal but no submarines. had a great time hanging out with 100 other amazing women.
It was a 100 yr celebration at my high school.. but with dh doing all the driving, I didn't think he would like doing another ferry ride and traffic.. If I had my own car I would have gone.
I loved. my weekend.. and tonight I had carrots and hummus for dinner. ate all sorts of things at lunch as indulgence.. ate a bite of fried oyster (harvested right near restaurant). and had some bites of huckleberry ice cream.
who knows what will be for dinner tomorrow.
