Hotty Toddy!!! Ole Miss defeated Tulane 37 - 20! Not the prettiest game, but those last 5 minutes made up for it. Cinched the win with a 56 yd. field goal. Now to start switching back and forth between the Bama-Texas and Miss State-Arizona games.

(17) UNC defeated Appalachian State in the second overtime period. I listened to the game on SXM, rather than watch on tv, due to the ongoing Spectrum-Disney dispute...UGH!

LSU beat Grambling 71-10 so I can sleep well tonight. There were a few upsets, the most notable being Texas beating Alabama 34-24.

It just occurred to me that this makes no sense. Alabama is playing Texas who is also joining the SEC next year so why didn't that change? Oklahoma hasn't joined the SEC just yet, that happens next year (2024). Bama and Texas played last year in Austin, so this isn't a new thing this year. My guess is trying to break them into the conference? Who knows, but you can bet that it is related to money. This is what I found here

I think the difference between the Texas Alabama home and home series and the Oklahoma Georgia series was that the Texas Alabama series was over before Texas joined the SEC, while the first Oklahoma Georgia game would be played before Oklahoma joined the SEC and the second game would be played after Oklahoma was a member of the SEC. If Oklahoma and Georgia played the second game of their series in 2024, it would have created havoc with the SEC schedule.
I was a little late throwing in my 2 cents (and I’m not even sure my opinion is worth that) because we’ve been travelling. After getting absolutely drenched watching Notre Dame play North Carolina State on Saturday in Raleigh, we headed to Crested Butte, CO for our dear friends’ daughter’s wedding on Sunday night. It rained in Crested Butte too!
I watched my Oklahoma Sooners play SMU on tv Saturday night. We won, but our offense struggled. I hope the rumors that the offensive coordinator is holding back some great plays to use against Texas on October 7th are true. We will need some trick plays if we are to have a chance of beating Texas this year.
