Good morning leannec! We just got done eating breakfast. Jeremy made some sausages to go with the banana muffins I made before we came. I stole your meme on Facebook because it's also true in my case..😂 littlemama I hope you have a good trip. However we got married in Vegas, were there for 4 days, and that was enough for me. I don't care to ever go back. Not that we didn't have a nice time or anything, but it wasn't my favorite way to vacation.with that said, Chloe has made comments that they want to get married next year and maybe in Vegas. So if that happens I will go again. I am going to wash the breakfast dishes. There aren't many. You guys are going to gasp. But I had paper plates, napkins, and plastic silverware left from my BBQ so we brought those to use in the camper. I am usually completely against using paper products. I do bring napkins and paper towels to camp though. But I feel like I'm killing the environment. Haha...don't mind me... Tonight I'm going to try foil packet sausage lasagna. I'm pretty excited about this idea. I also have a loaf of French bread to cook over the fire. The rest of the day will be spent lounging. Maybe a walk down to the lake. Reading, crocheting. Most of the campsites in this park are annual so people have big decks built and such. It's pretty empty. I kind of love it. I could go all week without seeing humans. I m going to make another cup of coffee and head to the shower. Have a good day.

leannec , I really like that meme. Enjoy breakfast w/your family. jeremysgirl , doing dishes on vacation seems wrong. You do that at home all year long. hehe. Your day sounds really nice. I hope you have lots of fun today. Can I please have one of your banana muffins? Yum. Since it's dh's last day of sabbatical he is going to do last minute stuff. That includes cleaning up his stuff in my office, because our server is in there and he has been working on it. Once he's out of there I have some tidying to do in order to be able to scrap this week. While he's prepping for work tmw I'll be doing my puzzle. I might make fajitas for dinner or something else. We have peppers from the garden that need to be picked and used. Have a fun, relaxing and playful day, my tribe.

I did my usual Sunday morning grocery shopping except I hadn’t gone last week and it really added up! I splurged on 2 nice rib eye steaks. One will be grilled tonight for dinner. I’ll have it with a big salad and corn on the cob.
Dd made beef carnitas yesterday that smelled really good but I didn’t try it. I think the rest of the family is have either rechauffe carnitas or ziti from Friday night.

DH’s buddy ended up with a broken collarbone from the ATV incident yesterday. It didn’t cause DH to pause though, he and DS are off on a ride today.
We are going out for supper tonight. Just need to decide on where.

Honestly scrapmaven doing dishes is something I find really soothing. Even at home I have a dishwasher but I usually spend my lunch hour doing dishes by hand. I don't mind at all. Besides how many days/hours can one really spend doing nothing? (Don't ask Leanne 😂) I mean I literally have the entire day to myself to do whatever I want for a full week. What more could I ask for? I will say that I'm having a really hard time shaking off work. I'm stressed about that.

Went to church then target and the grocery. Picked my San marzano tomatoes but I’m going to let them ripen a couple more days inside. Besides I’m still investigating sauce recipes for them. Made hummingbird food. She comes when I’m sitting right by the feeder now. I want to get a handheld feeder and try it. There’s a state park here where you can do that. My friend & I are supposed to go but he has a new girlfriend so his time is spoken for. I’m so happy for him. His wife died a few years ago. He went to HS with this woman. My niece called and I’m watching the 3month old and 2 yo for half a day tomorrow. Her sitter canceled. Dinner is going to be bourbon salmon with a cauliflower Parmesan or garlic purée, broccoli, salad, focaccia bread if it rises and chocolate chip cookies. leannec I’m going to see where there’s a Dennys here. Dh loves going out for breakfast but we are polar opposites on where to go. I like my fancy avocado toast and he likes bacon & eggs. His places don’t do fancy or fresh really. taylortroop men and their toys 🤦♀️ jeremysgirl I’ll be anxious to hear how that lasagna turns out.

A girlfriend of mine puts grape jelly in her hummingbird feeders ... they gobble it up! They absolutely LOVE it!

I'm baking meatbuns for lunches this week. 6-7 dozen when done. Then some pumpkin muffins and blueberry muffins. Not sure what is for dinner. leannec ~~ I was told that normal is a setting on the clothes dryer. Nothing else is normal. jeremysgirl ~~ Eat more chocolate until you are relaxed, works for me. KelleeM ~~ Steaks are delicious, enjoy scrapmaven ~~ freshly roasted pepper are divine. taylortroop ~~ Men and their toys... teddyw ~~ Rest up today because babysitting is usually baby-chasing.

I have to hear how the escape room went, cadoodlebug. What did you think? jeremysgirl, this week is all about vacation. There's nothing you can to do about work this particular week. Let it go. It'll be there when you get back and you'll deal w/whatever happens at that point. You have a solid job w/a solid paycheck and that enabled you to go camping in your cute new camper. Breathe and relax in the fresh beautiful air. Take in the scenery around you and realize that you are fortunate to be in such a pretty place for a week.

I’m getting ready to head out to my work picnic. Of course, today it decides to rain. I’m sure the turnout will be lower due to that but nothing I can do about it. Honestly, I would rather stay home… The wedding yesterday was beautiful. Niece was radiant and just so relaxed and happy. The venue was a little different but the food was delicious. ODS flight to Germany was delayed by a few hours so he surprised us by coming for the ceremony. He was able to stay just long enough to get in the family picture. His grandparents were so so excited he was able to get in the picture. He has always been ver close to my father in law so I know it meant a lot to both of them. This week we will be keeping the DGS’s a lot. The three youngest ones are here now. jeremysgirl I agree with everything scrapmaven said about work. It will be there when you get back. Enjoy your vacation! Dinner will be at the picnic.

jeremysgirl, you might just as well have said LucyG as LeanneC. I get virtually nothing done most days. (And this is nothing new. Don’t try to blame it on chemo.) Your vacation sounds lovely. Other than the camping part. heh Dinner is probably more chicken soup. I put too many noodles in so I keep needing to add more stock. I need to do a grocery order for tomorrow. Much of my produce has gone south. Plus the ice cream bars are on sale. hmm … produce apparently ignored but out of ice cream bars? I wonder how that happened … Wishing everyone a happy, peaceful and/or fun Sunday. Now back to organizing scrap stuff. Predictably, I did nothing yesterday.

Came home and had some yogurt and crashed. Working again tonight...so dinner will be pizza...requires no thought or prep on my part!!!

We travelled from Budapest to Vienna today, leaving just before 10am and getting to Vienna at midday. DH left DS and I there and continued home to music. Once DS and I checked into our Airbnb, we set off into the city - it is only 3 metro stops - and wandered around for a while before we went to a VR show called Time Travel Vienna which was a really good introduction to Vienna and its history. We then went across the street to Sisi’s Journey - another VR show about the last empress of Austria. Then we walked around a bit more until it was dinner time, so we found a restaurant that did Austrian food and had gigantic schnitzels.
We are now back at the apartment relaxing before bed. DS is sorting out his travel to and from Paris in two weeks and I am here.

Today DH walked the pupper so I had the day off which suits my pain level today, and I slept in after staying up until 2:30 a.m. But I did lots of stretches. I plan to do some more exercises today as well and may try using hand weights again now that the wrist pain is so much better after that cortisone shot. jeremysgirl let us know how the foil packet lasagna works out. And yes lasagna should definitely have sausage!! I really should plant san marzanos sometime and make sauce with them. Enjoy your vacation! For you campers, one of my father's favorite things was bringing a fondue set. He would take it out the last day and everyone in our group would come over and want some. scrapmaven definitely doing dishes on vacation is wrong. I hate dishes but I'm blessed with a DH who doesn't and will do the handwashing for anything that doesn't go in the dishwasher. taylortroop yikes on the ATV incident. I somehow missed that yesterday. Glad it wasn't worse. stormsts I'm glad for you that your ODS was able to make it for some of the event. DH just left to pick up some Vietnamese takeout, so tonight we'll be snacking or I might make smoked salmon wraps using low carb tortillas, whipped cream cheese, a little wasabi, cucumber, capers and lettuce. Very tasty.

lucyg you crack me up. Honestly I could get used to this life. The plan to camp down south all winter when we retire sounds better after every trip. And this camper has just about everything I need. It's a big upgrade from our pop up and will be even better once the renovation is complete. Marina I'm pretty excited about the lasagnas I think it's going to be good. I got those no bake noodles. But I'm going to soak them in some hot water for a few minutes to soften them up. I think that will be best. I hear all of you about work. It's hard. But I was sitting here and crocheting and just had a brilliant idea about something unrelated to the current drama to solve a problem with something else. I told Jeremy and he got irritated with me that I was thinking about work. Haha...but damn it was a good idea and it just came to me.

Hi wveryone! I've been kind of awol lately. The new schedule has been kicking my butt, lots of "extra " stuff like meetings and retreats and activities on top of teaching and driving. I was over in South Bend 4 days out of 5 this week. And health stuff. So I've been coming home and sinking into the couch. Then Friday I was going to work early and was driving into the sun. My eyes had been bothering me but I don't know what happened...maybe from rubbing them I picked up some bacteria, not sure but they became miserable. Finally last night ai went to urgent care. She called in antibiotics but the pharmacy was closed. They can't do much. I already had an appt next Fri with the opthamologist to try to figure out some blurry vision changes, so I'm hanging in there til then. After the Dr, we went to Portillo's for italian beef and cheese fries. Last night we crashed on the couch and slept there all night with the sliders open listening to the rain. It was delicious! Today we had mochas early, then biscuits and gravy for brunch. We are watching the Bears lose. We have been doing house projects and laundry. Putting our glut of books and magazines away, cleaning the kitchen, Nick did the floors and the upstairs bathroom. I worked on fall decorations in the dining room. Nick has been straightening up all his music equipment in the family room. And I have pulled all my summer clothing out of our closet/dressing room. Nick will help me get it downstairs. The next project will be the basement. We are determined to use every inch of this house, and would like to set up an area for me to do crafts/scrap and him to relax and practice down there. So...goodwill and the dump, here we come! Our bonus daughter is getting an apt next month, so we will help her with furniture and housewares. Nick would like to have a yard sale and while I'd love the $, I have no patience for it and it all stresses me out. No idea about dinner tonight. We will use our leftover biscuits with chicken pot pie soup in a couple days for a quick dinner. Thought of you, leannec when we went to Denny's for dinner after the (winning) football game for Nick's grandson. I think we are going to make it a tradition for Friday nights! I've tried to keep up reading the thread even if I don't post. You all are on my mind...Wishing good things for you!

Nick would like to have a yard sale and while I'd love the $, I have no patience for it and it all stresses me out. I have had garage sales over the years that were very successful ... sold a lot of Fisher Price toys and good quality baby and kids clothing ... cha ching!!! When we were renovating our house I said "No!" to another garage sale ... too much prep and just a waste of my time ... I sold a bunch of things on Facebook Marketplace and the rest went to Goodwill or the dump! Thought of you, leannec when we went to Denny's for dinner after the (winning) football game for Nick's grandson. I think we are going to make it a tradition for Friday nights! Denny's rocks! At least the one by my place does! They have a menu that suits everyone.

I have to hear how the escape room went, cadoodlebug. What did you think? We had a ball! It was a level 8/10 and our team of 5 were on the second to last clue before time ran out. Management was so impressed since it was everyone's first time that they took a picture with the WE ESCAPED sign. Dinner was great and then we all came back to our house for cake/ice cream and the slide show which everyone loved. The best part was DH showing everyone his paintings and said they were free to take some. So they did! The were all so impressed! All-in-all it was a fabulous weekend but we are beat!!

quiltz - Would you share the recipe for meatbuns? I am thinking DH would like those for his lunchbox. This involves yeast baking and takes about 5 hours to prepare. A basic bun yeast recipe and rise once. Meat is a mixture of beef, veal & pork (local butcher special) ~ 2lbs. Gently fry this and let drain. When cold, crumble until quite fine, (I use a small food processor) and add minced onion, garlic, italian spices, some taco powder, a dab of sour cream, a bit of mashed potato flakes, 1 small can of beef gravy until it is a good consistantsy. When the bun recipe has risen, take a small plop of the dough and spread it a bit thin between your palms, add a tsp of meat mixture and then seal up the dough and put on baking sheet. Let rise again for about 1 hour in a warm place. Preheat oven to 400* and then bake until golden for about 15-18 minutes. Cool on wired rack. I get about 6 dozen with a 2 tbsp. yeast /8 cups of flour. I don't really measure when I cook.

I reckon leannec and lucyg and I would be besties, because I'm pretty good at doing nothing, also! Well, when I say "nothing", I mean the sitting on the couch scrapbooking and drinking coffee kind of nothing. Mind you, I was outside at 8am weeding the garden before the FOGO truck came to pick up our bin this morning. Me! Weeding! at 8am!

We went to a winery for lunch for a friend's 60th. We got there just before 2pm. After we stood around outside having a few drinks, then had the antipasti, it was probably about 3:30pm before we ate lunch. As we had such a late lunch, we didn't eat dinner.
I am thinking about contacting the winery to complain about something. It's only minor, but it was really burning in my gut the whole time we were there. So. There were 21 people seated at our table. They brought out four plates of bread. Each plate had four pieces of bread. Now I might not be very good at maths, but in my feeble little brain, 4 x 4 = 16. 21 - 16 = 5. So 5 people did not get any bread. My friend asked them to bring out more bread. They better not have charged her extra for it!
There were soooooo many more little things that I could mention, but I won't bore you with the details. But a whole lot of little things rolled up into a ball of discontent with the lunch.
