I had my first mani-pedi 3 weeks ago since 2011; orange gel fingers, and toes just had clear hardener on them. The gel has come off, peeling strips of nail away at the same time, and ruining my nails which had finally grown back lovely after the chemo. I won't be doing that again. I'm not touching my toes. RedSquirrelUK I am so sorry this happened to you.

Oh no, that sucks. I'm so sorry that happened. It was my fault. The edges were lifting, and the gel on my little finger nail peeled off. I tried to take the rest off with the acetone nail polish remover I had from 2011, and probably a long time before that. I did wonder why it didn't smell the same, but it wasn't until I soaked my nails in it and it achieved literally nothing that I realised that the acetone had probably all evaporated. So as it was 9pm and I had work the next day, I picked them off instead. Yeah, I know now. I think the modern nail polishes don't take very long to dry though, do they? 30 years ago it was an all-evening job, and I still woke up with marks from my bedding all over my lovely polish.

Polish can still take a long time to dry but I always use a quick dry top coat so no worries about drying time. I have used this brand for the past 6+ years, it's my favorite. Comes in scents but they also have unscented. vibrantscents.com/fast-hard-quick-dry-glossy-top-coat/

My birthday was a week or so ago so I treated myself to a mani/pedi with gel. I wasn’t quite ready for fall, but I found a really pretty light dusty orange color that was SO pretty. I got it on both my hands and feet.

This summer I had lavender toes. Now I've gone to a kind of red wine purple.
My favorite fall color is a glittery orange but my nail salon doesn't have it anymore and I can't find it anywhere.

One of my fave late Fall/Winter colors is OPI’s I’m Not Really a Waitress, a great red shade. I love the names that OPI has for their polish. Always very clever.

Update - I went with another light purple - should have gone darker! But I have to say feels like summer today!

I got a pedi before my road trip to Los Angeles. I'm sporting OPI Funny Bunny and it looks great with my tanned feet.
My go to color for October is Sally Hansen Triple Shine polish called Play Koi. Nice bright pumpkin orange 🎃.

Anyone else use OPI gel polish? I just bought I’m not Really a Waitress and it’s just not the same as the regular polish that colour. I’m quite disappointed actually which is new for me with anything OPI - it’s sort of lighter and just doesn’t have the same depth of colour. I had heard that the gel versions of some of their polishes vary on colour but I hadn’t experienced it first hand - until now.

I gave myself a mani-pedi this evening and changed up colors. This is a Zoya shade called Zanna. It’s what I’d call a dusty pink. And holy cow are my nails long! I usually keep them filed to a length just over the tips of my fingers. But lately they’ve been in a growth spurt and I just haven’t had the heart to cut them back. I will eventually but for right now I’m kinda grooving on the length.

A trick of the poor lighting no doubt. I have "old lady" hands -- but thanks for the compliment. I'll take it. Made my night!

I have Pink Gellac Warm Marsala on my toes. I was feeling fall even though it was really warm here until yesterday.

That really sucks, I’m so sorry! I find that unless I’m in a pool or sand my pedicures with today’s nail polish last forever and my toenails grow pretty slowly. Seriously, the pedicure can grow out completely without chipping at all. So if you find yourself in the mood again I don’t think a regular pedicure would be hard on your nails. Just make sure they use a base coat with dark colors so you don’t end up with stained nails.

So many OPI fans here I still have a coral/red left over from summer but I will re-do with Russian Navy dark blue soon. I remember when I went to a vocational convention my senior year of high school, OPI polish for $1.00 a bottle. I’d kill for those prices these days.

It is officially Fall here - frost on the pumpkins overnight - so I've been sandal free for a couple of weeks now. Socks, booties & flannels for me so my poor toes (and legs) get neglected

I love olives and wines for my fall pedicures. I need to get one but I’ve been a lazy lima bean with no patience to go.
Now that I have a few weeks off (heehee) ALL of the maintenance I need is getting done. For my toes I’m definitely doing Essie High Voltage Vinyl which is a fave.

My toenails just have clear hardener on them, not gel, and I'm not touching them. They're fine. The orange gel was only on my fingernails, and in 2 weeks they had grown a good 3-4mm so the bright orange did look a bit funny even if the edges lifting didn't show. My fingernails do grow quickly, and when I'm well, strongly. I should have got the gel taken off properly. Lesson learned.

Currently red leftover from my Disney/Minnie mani/pedi. But I’ll go with a darker fall color next time. I prefer my nails to match or at least coordinate.

Deep red at the moment but I always try for something different. I’ll probably do a cool blue or deep purple next. I like bright colors for summer.

Currently wearing OPI Feeling Libra-ted on my toes. It’s a medium purple with a bit of sparkle. Spongemom Scrappants and summer, I’m admiring your hands and feet, along with the polish. You could both be nail polish models!

i have a deep teal/emerald on right now. it's called "stay off the lawn" or something like that. very unusual for me since i'm in red most of the time. a lady sitting next to me at the nail place had it on and i loved it. had to give it a try.

I usually go between a pink and a teal, no matter the season. I might go for a darker shade of teal for fall or winter.
