jeremysgirl - can you repost the book? I know I saw it when you posted the first time, but am thinking mini-cakes would be fun!

jeremysgirl those donuts look delicious. Marina I just decided to tune them out and stay out of their bad vibes.

Great news about your mum's new home leannec - it really sounds like it ticks all the boxes! jeremysgirl I know I already said this, but the donuts look amazing, and I really hope I can find a similar class somewhere around here. We had the friends we travelled with over for dinner, and to watch the travel video I put together. I went with a SE Asian theme for dinner. ~ peanut dipping sauce with roti ~ Betel leaf* with a filling similar to this tangy prawn & crab mix, but with a few added ingredients ~ Crispy pork belly bao with sriracha mayo - homemade bao buns make all the difference! ~ pineapple rice One of the guys made the most delicious prawns with some kind of sticky marinade. One of the girls was going to make sticky mango rice for dessert, but she brought a strudel instead. You know strudel, that traditional Asian dessert! *It turns out you can't buy Betel leaves easily here - even the guy in the Asian grocer had no idea what I was talking about! I had to use leaves from chop sum instead.

linda your tea sounds wonderful! I haven't done an afternoon tea in years. AussieMeg I always love reading your menus. While I love sticky rice with mango, a strudel can never be turned down.

Marina and AussieMeg is sticky rice with mango just what it sounds like? Am I missing a critical element? Rice with mango doesn't sound right to me, let alone as dessert! But what do I know, I spent a whole cooking class learning to make donuts. 😂🤣 I could have learned a beautiful dinner meal, but nope, I'm all about the donuts. Lol!

Hi I have been to the hospital once today but I am going again with Dad’s GF because he asked me to aske her. GF is like an aunt to me new and we get along so well. It’s awesome. Why am I going again tonight? It’s the feeling when my dad found his lost passport in China and I have to do it (せんといけん)。

My mom made delicious strudel. She really baked and so did my mil. I would love to bake like that. I didn't get the chance to bake that cake today, but I will do so tmw. I hope dh enjoys it. We opted for Billions. A 2:44 movie was way too long right now. I started programming my car, as well. I need a teenage phone-a-friend to help me w/technology. I'm starting to notice the ways in which I'm aging and technology is a big part of it. Stuff that would have been easy 10 years ago is rocket science now. teddyw, when you're creating in the studio that is total therapy time. When I'm painting it's "ME" time. That you had to listen to those awful people is just wrong. You should be at peace and just in your creative zone. I'm ARGHING w/you.

I am generally not a fan of rice as a sweet. But we had mango sticky rice in Bangkok and it was delicious! I have never made it, but I do have a pack of glutinous rice in the pantry, just waiting for the mangoes to be in season. My MIL made me try a rice pudding dessert recently. ("Try it for Nan!" just like she used to say to my son when he was little. ) It was a rice pudding with a delicious Asian flavoured syrup, and to my surprise I really liked it.

AussieMeg I had to look betel leaves up. The only place I think would sell them by me was an international grocery store that mysteriously went out of business. It was packed morning, noon & night.
