don , my parents were married almost as long as you and your wonderful queen. When my mother passed away it was quite a rough time for my dad, but he had his loved ones to help him move through the grief. He had a lot of twists and turns, but was able to find happiness. Though, of course, it was very different w/o his wife. I say this, because you will get through this with the support of your friends and family and you will find happiness in the least expected places. As for cooking, don't give up. You'll get the hang of it. I made my dad a manual for all of the things that my mom took care of, easy recipes, how to do laundry, which cleansers to use on which items, etc. If you want something similar it would be a pleasure to do this for you. Finally, my father was a vet, though stateside and I want to thank you not only for being a wonderful husband, but also for your brave service to our country. This is one of your homes and I'm honored that you sit at our table. scrappintoee , my favorite exercise takes place in a warm therapy pool at PT. So good for your joints and muscles and feels good overall. it's nice to see you back here. stormsts , I would love to have dinner w/the tribe.

scrappintoee Thanks! I like that I can scale them up or down, and DH likes to put them together. Win-win. sueg Our first landlady had a dog named Cleo and a daughter named Egypt. Her other daughter did not have an accompanying themed name. We could often hear Cleo's nails on the kitchen floor above us (we lived in her basement), and she occasionally followed DH in when he brought home groceries if she was in the yard (we had our own entrance). scrapmaven Hope you feel better soon! So sorry you've been so ill this year.

don after hearing all the lovely things you've said about your Queen over time, it really makes me wish that we had been fortunate enough to have met her. Yesss! How fun would that be? I've been saying for a long time that someone needs to win the lottery, then we can all go to visit AussieMeg ! (the lottery winner would pay for everyones' flights, hotels, restaurants, etc. ) Can you imagine how FUN that would be? Yessss!! Or - and here's a thought - the winner could pay for ME to go THERE so that *I* get a trip out of it! My SIL came out with us on Friday, and she buys a Powerball ticket with three of her colleagues every week. On their group chat, one of the girls told the others that the unknown winner of the $4 million prize had bought the ticket in Lilydale on a particular day. They thought for sure that it was their ticket, and they were already planning what to do with their winnings. Nobody could check the ticket because it was at their workplace. Then they got further info, and it turns out it was bought from a different newsagent in Lilydale. Oh well, the dream was real for an hour or so! Here's a fun story: I'm putting this is a spoiler because I don't want the people I know to think I was gossiping about them.... I know a couple who won a share of a $160 million Powerball jackpot. There were two other winning tickets, so each winner got about $53 million. The couple I know had to share it with his three kids, so they ended up with *only* $13 million each.
And the worse thing is...... I don't like her!! hahahahaha Why did SHE have to win? 😝 stormsts It's going to be such a hard day for you and your friend. I'll be thinking of you.

Hi Everyone! leannec I am so glad that you are feeling a bit better. What a beautiful picture of people who sacrificed for your country. don I am so sorry for your loss. I am keeping you in my prayers. Your Queen sounds like such a beautiful woman. Your description of making eggs, sounds like something I would do. Thank you so much for serving our country. Without men and women like you, we wouldn’t have the freedom that we have today. jeremysgirl I am so glad that your finger is draining. I pray that you are on the road to recovery. That meme is so funny and at times, true. scrapmaven I am so sorry that the antibiotics are not working. I wish that I could wave a magic wand and you would be completely healed. I really liked that movie. sueg Those pictures are precious! What a beautiful puppy. Your anniversary gift is great. stormsts I am keeping you and your friend’s family in my prayers. bklyngal62 Your day sounds perfect and relaxing. It’s great that you are having dinner made for you. karenlou You are such a wonderful person! cadoodlebug I love hearing about your crazy rummy days. Do you have a clubhouse nearby that you could use to accommodate everyone? Marina Your dinner sounds delicious. taylortroop I am so happy for your DH being able to walk that distance. The moment of silence for the veterans must have been very moving. I hope your family enjoys dinner. rymeswithpurple Those lanterns are beautiful! Your dinner sounds delicious. ntsf That sounds like a long day. I am sorry that it was so draining and long. scrappintoee That is wonderful that you are going to start physical therapy in the pool. That will really help you feel better. teddyw Have a fabulous time in New York City. AussieMeg Awe. But I would love to visit you in Australia! Today I deep conditioned my hair, did dishes and made homemade chicken soup for dinner. Other than that I have been watching videos and doing my exercises. Hi guys. I'm home.
First the doctor took X-rays and said the infection is not in the bone. Second she was horrified at the three different antibiotics. Said this is how people get super bugs. She said that none of the attempts to drain the wound were adequate and she was blown away that ER cut it open without anesthetic. She gave me three injections of lidocaine and then spent a significant amount of time cleaning the wound. She packed it but did not close it. She wants to give it an opportunity to drain. She bandaged me up pretty good and I can text type with my thumbs but I can't keyboard type. So I told my boss I won't be into work until after my follow-up appointment on Tuesday. This was a helluva rough way to get a four day weekend. 🙄

This was a helluva rough way to get a four day weekend. 🙄 True ~~~ but you do get four days off of work, enjoy and relax. Did you contact the nail salon where you got the infection. Sometimes the ER will call Public Health and then they will visit the nail salon to ensure proper procedures with cleaning of the tools. Heavy price to pay for a manicure.

This was a helluva rough way to get a four day weekend. 🙄 My nieces husband got cellulitis in one of his fingers and had to do IV antibiotics for a long three weeks around Christmas because they were afraid it had gone into the bone of his finger. Thank goodness it didn’t. I don’t remember what he cut his hand on. He’s a fireman so it could’ve been anything. I hope that, what she did for you today really helps

We had chicken shawarma with rice, salad, and pita bread with garlic sauce. One dinner fed all 3 of us with a little bit leftover. We always order 2 so we can have it again the next day. I am curious, do you have shawarma places where you live? They are everywhere here. jeremysgirl that sounds absolutely awful. I would probably report the nail salon, as it seems likely that that is where it happened. Glad you found someone who is treating you properly.

rymeswithpurple: Zenni is awesome! I buy all my glasses from them and haven’t had any issues with quality yet. I buy progressives lenses so they are a bit more money but I never spend over $100 a pair. I’ve also ordered for my DH and my mom. I love the variety of styles and the price!

Sometimes the ER will call Public Health and then they will visit the nail salon to ensure proper procedures with cleaning of the tools. Heavy price to pay for a manicure. I contacted the woman who did manicure and let her know what was going on. However, I am a nail biter. I did trim up some of my cuticles (as did she) and then she did put on the acrylic nails. I don't know who was at fault. Me personally? I will never have nails put on again and I'm going to do my very best to stop biting knowing that an infection can get this out of control. But rationally? I just don't know where to place blame here. I just think it's a risk I took.

jeremysgirl how awful. I have a family member who bites their nails and has had to be treated for infection but nothing like this. I'm so sorry you are going through this. littlemama we are in CA and so there are many such restaurants. We sought them out after the Avengers movie where they ate it at the end. Today we ended up going to a Korean soup place. It was nice to have something different.

My bandage fell off last night. All the packing inside the wound came out. Not that the wound was huge or anything. But I'm up and I rebandaged. I'm concerned about the healing now. Maybe karenlou could weigh in too if you don't know, Teddy.

Did they give you extra packing material or a prescription to get more? The packing is so it can heal from the inside out while drawing out the fluid. Definitely keep it bandaged. If it starts to throb, smell, increase in swelling or really red call the dr. Keep taking the antibiotics as prescribed.

It's not a particularly big wound. And when I looked at it, it seemed like it was going to stay open. It looks like it's not going to be able to close on its own. My best friend is a nurse practitioner. Do you think it's worth calling her today and asking her to come rebandage it for me?
