The sound of Tony Romo's voice and his idiotic chatter makes me want to rip off my own ears. Really? I have been a Washington fan since birth therefore my second favorite team is anybody but the Cowboys. I haven’t heard much of his announcing before and was pleasantly surprised. Even admitted it to DH who grew up in Arlington and the Cowboys are his second favorite team. Which, you know, killed me. But I liked his voice, style, and what he chose to talk about. Different strokes… And I really enjoyed the game. Though I used to spend all day Sunday watching games, I don’t watch much anymore. Really thought it was a great game. Lots of good defense, which I really like to watch in every sport, offense only is boring to me. It was close almost the entire game, there were some great plays. Hated seeing so many people get hurt though, didn’t it seem like a lot? Especially the player who likely tore his Achilles while just running onto the field to celebrate.

I have to say that the annual complaining about the half time show irritates me so much. What exactly do you expect and what would make you all happy? Genuine question. 3 songs. Just the main person. Like it USED to be. I hate a few cords and then another song and another and others coming in. I agree with most of this. I also want to be able to hear the singer - if I weren’t physically watching, there were times when I would not have been able to say if Usher was singing. Part of that may be that the songs didn’t seem to lend themselves to a big bombastic performance with a zillion things going on around him; some of the issue may have been sound quality. And I really would like to see the central person performing; I don’t need a bunch of guest appearances or costume changes.

As a seahawk fan I’m very happy the miners lost. As a newly cemented swiftie I’m happy the chiefs won

Canadian watcher who knows just enough about downs to be able to follow along. Great game! DSO and I were cheering for the Chiefs and really got into the game, which was surprising to us lol. I think because it was such a close game and every play really mattered.
We are on the East coast so normally just watch for the 1/2 time show but we stayed up real late on a work night tonight!

The Clydesdale commercial had a nepo baby. The dog is apparently Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's dog. I thought that was funny.

If I simply wanted a vocal performance I'd just pull him up on Spotify. A vocal performance is for the anthem, not halftime. I want a show! All time high bar: Katy Perry's halftime show from 2015. Now THAT'S entertainment. Made me a fangirl. Second fave: OGs from 2 years ago, with Snoop and Dre etc. Admit that may be due to nostalgia. 3rd place, Prince.

I thought Usher started out slow, but by the end we loved it. Don't even get me started on how that man can move and then DID IT ON ROLLER SKATES! Also, the female guitarist that came out H.E.R. has a cool story how she sang at a 49ers game when she was little and now she's playing the halftime show at a 49ers Super Bowl. I love little details like that. My favorite commercial was Jason Momoa. When he opened that door and the other 2 dudes started singing, I told my family "I'm gonna die if he starts singing.." and then the dance? Love it. I'll sit on the minority bench of not minding Tony Romo, although I did have to laugh when he was talking about all the pressure Brock Purdy was under at his first Super Bowl. Like, how would you know Tony, you never made it?

I agree that Katy Perry put on a good show. I also liked Bruce Springsteen, and Beyonce. But I don't specifically remember what type of "show" these two had, I just like both of them. So I enjoy watching them perform any time.

Sorry, Twitter is having too much fun with this photo and I couldn’t resist. “Three days until pitchers and catchers report!” Being from his hometown; Cleveland they are taking full advantage of this here and making some pretty funny Memes!

Good sound quality and upbeat songs. I love Usher and think he is amazing. His dancing and the stage production was wonderful. I’m not familiar with a majority of his catalogue so perhaps he doesn’t have many upbeat songs, but for me, that’s the type of music the halftime show should be. It’s supposed to hype the audience, and this fell flat for a lot of the at home audience and it sounded to me like the attendees as well. this is exactly how I feel too.

I have to say that the annual complaining about the half time show irritates me so much. What exactly do you expect and what would make you all happy? Genuine question. Maybe less songs, more cohesive costuming/choreography Just seemed to be trying to do too much that it was all over the place. Idk I think Prince set the bar. 💜 Exactly...trying to do too much; bringing in too many 'friends'. Bring it back to MJ and Prince; or Gaga. Those were 'classics' and set the bar. The game was a snooze-fest. Tony's broadcasting career started so strong; but honestly, he's saying the same things this year as he has said since the beginning. He hasn't evolved and it has become boring; no, more than boring...predictable and cliche.

Sorry, Twitter is having too much fun with this photo and I couldn’t resist. “Three days until pitchers and catchers report!” It is everywhere. I can't think of one good/justifiable reason any player in any sport should be yelling at a coach like this. As a parent, I cringe at the thought of my kids thinking this is an OK way to speak to a coach. Yuck. ETA - The memes are funny - I just hate the idea of this being used as a justification for how others talk to coaches....

I only knew the last Usher song. Until that song it was just one long slow dance and the super bowl is not the place for that. 2022 was the perfect half time show. Nothing will ever come close to being as great. Signed Gen Xer who loves old school hip hop/rap.

Not an Usher fan, but I thought it was a solid half time. The guy can dance which was much more entertaining than the strutting around some do. I also loved the rollerskating.

My stance softened a bit (but not totally) when Andy Reid laughed and said that Kelce was begging to be put in to the game! Edited to add: Reid said Kelce was yelling “Put me in, I can score!”

How come no one is talking about Alicia Keys?! lol! She has a great voice.
Anyways, I don’t know if it was a Super Bowl commercial on TV, but on IG last night, after the game, I saw a commercial from UberEats that showed Usher trying to learn to skate. It was so funny! Usher was great “trying” to learn and flopping all over. Maybe I can find it and link it.

I did not like the halftime show...I don't like his music at all. And mostly the commercials are a yawn. The thing that gets to me is that it's all so noisy. I like quiet. Right at the beginning of all the blah blah blah from the commentators before the halftime show my dh went to do some laundry. So I grabbed the remote and muted the TV. aaaahhhhh so quiet. lol. Dh didn't come back until Usher had already started singing so I had those minutes of quiet. I'm heading to bed in a minute, to read in my very-quiet bedroom. hahahaha What show would make you happy?

I am not an Usher fan, but I loved the show as did my brother and sil who don't even know who he is. His dancing was great. I like guest artists. The back up dancers were great. Loved the roller skate part. Loved the costume change. Visually it was stunning.
How can a close overtime game be boring? I don't know what sport you are watching. It was a very physical chess match.

not a football person but we watched the whole game - the two teams were very evenly matched which made for an interesting game. I have no idea who Usher is but I thought the halftime show was good - not necessarily my type of music but it was entertaining and I'm 100% impressed with the skating skills.
