If you are on facebook, there are a couple of groups, Blepharoplasty, Ptosis and Eyelid Surgery Help and Support and Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Support Group you can check out. I was supposed to get mine corrected last year but chickened out, thinking I could live with it and maybe I'm too old to get it done, but I'm happy I got it done. I'm 72.

How much is it if you have to pay out of pocket...ballpark? Per google, the average is 3339. I’ve seen ranges from 1200 an eye to 3500 an eye. My college roommate friend got a quote last year. We are in our 50's. Los Angeles area surgeon. He told her $5k per eye, upper lids only. So $10k.

This is definitely in my future as they are getting worse and impeding my vision more noticeably. My grandmother who I look identical to had them done and really raved about it after. I’ve had one laser eye surgery tho and now I’m pretty chicken. Have eye appointment coming up though so we’ll see what dr says this go round. 😬

My eyelids have definitely gotten worse but I have not looked into if it would be covered by insurance yet (or even not covered by insurance yet.) Truthfully (not to hi-jack) my first choice for surgery would be a breast reduction and that would for sure be covered but I am a chicken. I am sitting on a referral but am afraid to make the call.

That’s pricey. the $10k seems to be average around here and the doctor isn't even in the pricier Beverly Hills or Newport Beach areas. i'll just have to live vicariously through her. LOL

I started my medical career in the operating room and breast reductions and mastopexies were my favorites. Everyone I personally know who has done it has been so glad they did.

I just need to get the courage to make the phone call.
