Yes, I have heard that term! My dh has also used the term "herding cats" while trying to get everyone together!

I thought you were talking about the musical group with Yo Yo Ma and Chris Thile. Some great music there. Yes! You are the first person I’ve seen who has ever heard of them.

Goat Rope, Goat Rodeo, Goat F*ck are all in my vernacular and express different levels of chaos. I love a colorful phrasing! I knew you'd know what a Goat F*ck was! I hear that in military circles. I have never heard of a goat rodeo, but assumed it was a nicer way to say GF.

LOL I did a bit of Googling to see if I could find if there was a region of the country where the terms are used and didn't find much. We've lived in all 4 corners of the US, so who knows. I do know that we've used the terms for decades.

Goat Rope or Goat Roper here. But they do have actual Goat Ropings here, usually during the winter inside someone's arena at their house. For something fun on a cold day. And usually kids can participate more. Have you heard of Rexall Rancher? Those are the guys and gals who dress the part, but don't own any cows. Drug Store cowboy. LOL When I was growing up in our "sophisticated" larger Arkansas town, we'd call guys who came to town from the country in their Western finery "goat ropers" because we were snide little shits.

Goat Rope is the term I’m familiar with, same meaning. Total shit show like herding cats. And I even roped goats in my youth lol.

Don't know the term but we have a restaurant called Rodeo Goat up the street! Yum, a family favorite! Goat rodeo causes me to picture the little kid rodeo events, that is chaos! Synonymous with herding cats. ETA apologies to all above for not reading all of page two and herding cats

Chris Thile was in the group Nickel Creek. If you’ve never heard them, check it out. Lovely harmonies and that mandolin…wow! also, remember the show Grim? Thile is married to the blond chick from that show.
